  1. Kind of sucks Nuxl died, I'll miss seeing half of the pages being filled with his posts/

@Magnificence Incarnate hasn't posted much huh. He was pretty active in the last game I was in, so I assume he's occupied with real life. If I get the time I'll probably look up his scum games to see if he acts like this.

hal is just ???. I think his overall memey posts are enough to make me think he's town tbh.

Don't have a solid opinion on Shinori but I don't really agree with voting him, since there's not much of a convincing argument to vote him.

I think I'll reread Athena's posts to get a solid opinion on him.

Why is hal not getting suspected right now? I feel with hals posting they'd be getting suspected. Hm none the less that catch up wasn't as interesting as I wanted given it's mostly the same players I talked about when I was here already.

His posts have been so memey that it doesn't even feel scummy lol.

He could be doing some complex psychology of being memey to look townie but I reallllly doubt that

What changed since last time you posted a read on Fenrir? IIRC you had him as mixed bag at that point. Also what do you think of his newest post?

Not much. Still agree with Refa's point against him and is currently the most suspectible of being scum imo. Voted him.

I do agree with his point about how people shouldn't have freaked the fuck out over Refa apologizing for posting late (hopefully I didn't interpret that wrong. Gonna reread that part later I guess when I'm home and can read without any IRL problems)

    why

By vibes I mean tone. Still feel the same way for Dusk. Same for Mitsuru, nothing about their posts seem scummy so far, including that whole nitpicking thing argument earlier that was kind of pointless.

Already talked about Fenrir, weiner, and Refa in reply to Athena.

did you get ahead to rereading their posts and concluding something as a result?

Also stated before. As for coming to a conclusion for something, eeeh I agree with people who are voting against Fenrir, mainly due to what Refa said about Fenrir. Not much else.

The problem isn't necessarily change, the problem is sudden change in a direction I see as bad. I'm not saying readlists are always bad (make them if you want to make them), but it definitely stood out to me as smth I didn't recognize from you, esp with my own tendency to do them more as scum in mind

Ah, okay, that sounds reasonable. I just wanted to list my opinions on everyone at that point is all. Didn't have much to say anyways.

    15 hours ago, Athena_57 said:

Mildly annoyed your main defense is copied from dusk tho (don't blame you for it, but would be more telling if you'd first said it yourself)

I actually was typing it out until Dusk posted it. Which is why I pretty much decided to mention him instead  since it basically conveyed what I wanted to say in fewer words.

    15 hours ago, Athena_57 said:

I disagree w/ dusk that just bc your playstyle is evolving we can't compare your games at all because I expect your tone to still be relatively telling and also think massive changes in style are still bad

That's understandable. Even I would find a massive change in playstyle to be rather suspicious, haha.

Speaking of which, maybe I should reading everyone else's previous games just to get a better idea of everyone's mindsets. If only I get the time.

Also I'm gonna have to backdown on my scumlean on you (for now at least). Looking at it now I feel like you were just pressuring me to give more thorough answers, and that isn't necessarily scummy (moreso townie, I guess). Still not completely believing you're inno but you're definitely not the most suspicious.

Memory's a bit vague for the rest of the pages since I kind of just skimmed over it. Half the posts are of Nuxl's though so lol. I see that most people are joining in on lynching Fenrir though, and since I agree Refa's point on him...

  6. And weiner posts while I was still typing, lol.

In hindsight, the conversation about Refa/Mitsuru was being made out to be important than it actually was. Reading Nuxl/Dusk in this exchange there is an urgency in their posts, but as I played along I felt like I wasn't really getting anything out of either

I agree with this as well. I didn't really find the conversation to be anything super important than it was made out to be.

  7. 2 hours ago, Athena_57 said:

Fleet was also very uncertain and mostly reactive, but more in a "I want to find scum but idk how to do it" way then here? I can't actually word it well but is does look different here imo

My answer to this is basically what @Duskfall98 said. I think you can expect my playstyle to change a bit/develop.

    2 hours ago, Athena_57 said:

Especiallt the "As you can see, I suck at reading people" stands out to me as unnecessarily defeatist/dramatic

That's just me being a bit too conscious of my readings. I honestly feel like reading people is my biggest problem. I'll try to avoid it if it seems annoying.

    2 hours ago, Athena_57 said:

Self-projection incoming, but smth else that bothered me with Fleet was the readslist they posted, and then not necessarily what was in it but the fact that they posted it. In the first place, town!fleet didn't post a single readlist and secondly from what I recall from my two scumgames (the first two mafiagames I played) I posted a lot of readslists bc it was just an easy way to produce content / get smth out there and when I rolled town I did that a lot less.

Ngl I think you're reading too much into it. I saw Dusk do it, which is why I also decided to do one as well, and I might make more depending on how the game progresses.

You mention you're going to reread a bunch of people. If you've already done this, what's the most noteworthy thing you picked up?

Reread weiner, still indifferent to him.

Fenrir made a point about Ichigo which I'm inclined to agree with, though for that I'll need to read the Arctic Mafia Thread, so I'll see if I get the time to do that.

Refa made a point against Fenrir, which I agree with after rereading Fenrir's posts. But I dunno if its enough to lynch Fenrir or something, so I'll see how he responds to it.

I've yet to reread Shinori but iirc I don't they really said much.

    2 hours ago, Athena_57 said:

You haven't listed a scumlean yet, if you had to pick one, who would it be and what is the biggest question you have for them?

Honestly speaking, I'd say you. I feel like your reading too into why I made a readlist. I also think its strange that you expect my playstyle to be the same as before, when I feel its more reasonable to assume that my playstyle is going to change a bit. This is my second game after all. Then you voting me just makes it  all the more suspicious, but I can understand if this is just your way of questioning by pressuring.

So, @Athena_57, I don't really have any question for you. I wanted to know your input on Dusk's point about Ichigo, but you already gave your input on the latter being back to null.

    2 hours ago, Athena_57 said:

You described Fenrir as a mixed bag, which posts from him gave you a good/bad impresion? On that note, what do you think of Refa's vote on fenrir?

Impression so far: A bit suspicious but not to the extent of wanting to lynch him. About the vote: stated above.

  8.

    Jesus Christ.

    8 pages already.

@ULTRA PRODIGY NUXL My accusation against you was more or less to stir discussion (until I had to leave cuz the school computers are a d i c k), though admittedly I think trying to be more social allows scum to be more influential. So far reading your posts I'm kind of just indifferent to you??? Ngl your posts haven't had much impact on me, so I'm gonna read em again or something soon.

@Mitsuru Kirijo  @Fenrir Aesir Second maf game, gave my reasoning for my accusation against Nuxlie. And no, I don't find users who are mostly non active as towny either. Reasoning for this isn't as clear but I guess it allows scum to be overlooked by others (this can be done by being overly social and influential among others too however).

@weinerboy If you want to then I guess??? Sure???

    Opinions so far:

Athena_57: Haven't posted anything so far I believe? If so, indifferent.
DarthR0xas: Don't think they posted either. Indifferent.
Duskfall98: Giving off those town vibes tbh. Leaning towards town.
Fenrir Aesir: Mixed bag. Agreed with their later opinion on Mitsuru's question to Refa I guess. May reread their posts.
hal: Indifferent, don't think they posted either.
Ichigo (Dunnstral): Not much of an opinion either. But I don't think him questioning why Refa was sorry is suspicious at all tbh. Doesn't even seem like pressuring.
Magnificence Incarnate (Marth): Didn't post yet I think? Indifferent.
Mitsuru Kirijo (Claire): Posts and vives so far have made me think they're town.
    Nuxl (Elik): Stated above.
Refa: Not much of an opinion yet, gonna reread their posts.
    Shinori: Same as Refa.
weinerboy (Soup): Giving townie vibes, but will reread their posts as well.

As you can see I suck at reading people.

  9. FE3: Two stories in one game? Awesome. Actual capable dancer that can fight? Yes please. Previous ally turned major antagonist, and done well at that? Amazing. Also liked star shards and how they gave stat boosts.

FE4: Being able to repair weapons as long as you have the money was a really good idea. Especially since its not limited to having to use a staff which itself has about 3 uses. Also the bigger maps give the effect of being in an actual war imo.

FE6: I like the idea of giving stat boosts to certain characters in Hard Mode. Also cool GBA animations.

FE7: I find Lyn's mode boring, but for someone new to the series its a pretty good tutorial to teach the basics. Its also the first game in the series to come to the west, so there's that.

FE8: The route split is pretty nice for giving a different story depending on which one you take. This game also has one of my favourite casts, so there's that.

  10. Already bleh. Gonna be kind of venting more or less so:

Got the results of my send up examinations and they're all awful. Some dick uninstalled a gacha game I played regurlarly on my phone and now I have to give an email to the game makers to recover my account. Have to waste a week to some event I'm being forced to go to and what's worse is that its in the city I'm not particularly fond of. This also means I have less time to prepare for my revision tests that are going to happen after the next week (the schedule for said tests is already pretty crappy enough)

Tired and miserable in general. Family stuff is just making it worse. Its only the 3rd of Jan tho, so I'm hoping for much better days.

  11. My memory's not all great, but I'm pretty sure I started off with Peter Pan as my first game. Accidentally getting Peter killed by a swarm of bees was fun.

Didn't exactly get me into gaming so I was more of a TV kid, until I got around to getting two CDs that were basically emulators with a bunch of games. Said games consisted of many good Snes RPGs that I still love to this day, so I guess those were what really got me into gaming.

Actually, I think the game should throw more enemies at you if it is not because of the technical limit.

For example, in the Final Chapter, the Freege castle should has at least 2 squads, 1 to attack you and 1 to defend the castle. And the Jungby should also has 2 squads attack from 2 directions, 1 heading to Freege, and 1 heading straight to Chalphy.

Yeah I agree. It'll make things more difficult and interesting at least.

The problem is that once the gsme throws this unexpected curveball at, that's it.

At first, the player is caught off guard but in later playthrough, you could easily off set that by sending all of your units to prepare ahead of that curveball and once that is done, Sigurd kills the boss, triggers the next enemy and there, the difficulty is gone.

Yeah I should have mentioned this in my first post. Once you know what's going to happen, the difficulty decreases because you're prepared for it.

Of course, RNG and poor strategies can still make things difficult, but it shouldn't be a big problem once you get the hang of things.

It doesn't help that the enemy only has 1 attack squad ready and they are defenseless once you kill them all, despite the fact if you let the enemy commander live after killing everyone in the squad, they are available to gather more forces if they retreat back to the enemy castle

Honestly I can't remember a single moment in the game where the enemy commander survived and got to bring reinforcements, except when I intentionally let them get reinforcements (such as in Hannibal's case). So its pretty easy for players to avoid this imo.

I don't know if anyone has ever considered FE4 particularly hard. If anything, the difficulty of the game comes from some unexpected things that happened when you get too comfortable with the difficulty of the game, if that makes any sense.

Agreed. Enemies aren't particularly that strong (with some exceptions like certain bosses, of course), but the unexpected moments can cause a panic, like how Eldigan's squad and later dragon knights appear after seizing the first castle in chapter 3.

    --------------

Personally speaking, never really thought the amount of enemies were smaller compared to other FE games. I guess that has to do with the fact that enemies appear in squads and groups often, which I feel make them seem much larger in number than they really are, and a lot of the time they seem to surround you ( e.g.there's about three different classes of enemies approaching the home castle from all sides in chapter 3). The fact that the player doesn't really have a large army either might also be the reason why I felt the enemy number is larger than it appears to be.

The only exception that comes to mind is that Female Myrmidon squad in Chapter 4.

  14. Clock Tower. It was neat to play through it again, but I only ever had the motivation to get the S ending. And after I did, I haven't touched the game since. I am interested to play the sequels though, so there's that.

The Ace Attorney games don't really have much replay value so you only ever go through them once. I think I've only ever replayed case 2 from JFA because I liked it so much, but that's not really a complete replay of the game.

The same could be said for Danganronpa's main story. Besides for having free time events with characters you didn't have with in your previous playthrough, and getting secret scenes you've might have missed, I don't think there's much replay value. Later DR games have more gamemodes (like Island Mode, School Mode) and V3 had a lot of bonus content, but I don't think playing them is considered a replay of the main itself.

  15. Genealogy:

Cavaliers and Dragon Knights. They're usually not too strong, but what's really annoying about them is how they take advantage of their canto to ambush a single unit and kill them. Doesn't help they have high move and Dragon Knights can station themselves at mountains where only your flier units could hit them.

Pegasus Knights also do this but they're not really that strong, as far as I can recall, so they're easier to deal with.

The guys with the status staves are also pretty annoying when they hit you with Sleep. Though you don't encounter them often, and the two bosses that have those staves can be silenced by Deirdre.

I got some nerve with FE4 Barons.

I tend to use them for boss abuse often. The long range magic they can sometimes does make things more difficult though.

Binding Blade, Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones:

Again, cavaliers and dragon knights are annoying for high move. Though I feel they're easier to deal with in these games than in Genealogy. The undead eyeball thingies in SS (forgot their name) are also hard to deal with, mainly due to having high move, and iirc later on some of them get long range magic.

  16. No one's ever told me that since I never did tell anyone, except for two good buddies who also enjoy Nintendo games.

I don't really expect anyone to care about it much or at least be understandable if they did find out I play Nintendo games.

Except for a friend who I have no doubt will call me a child if he found out about it. He's already called me that for liking animation once so....

  17. I thought this series was dead forever with Reincarnation being poorly received.

But its not. I'm so happy to know that~

I had recently completed Der Langrisser this year, having played it before a few years back. So its nice to know it and the first game are getting remade, along with the mobile game!

On 12/1/2018 at 10:16 PM, Slumber said:

Langrisser actually had a few PS1 titles

I vaguely remember hearing about there being an N64 Langrisser that was considered incredibly bad (unfortunately I can't find info on it, so I may just be imagining things)

EDIT: Nvm it was a Dreamcast game, Langrisser Millenium.
