  1. you know you're right? LOL oooookay, like I said I hope you never change
  2. He responded that way because it was a postgame presser. So he clearly only wanted to talk about the Dolphins game. I guarantee you Bill isn't glossing over this game. Especially since it decides home field advantage in the AFC EDIT: you have better things to do than admit you were wrong? Yeah okay. Never change, Ana
  3. Uh, really? Can you tell us what the question actually was or are you gonna just post a vague quote with no context at all? Btw still waiting for you to read that specific passage I mentioned aloud
  4. Clearly this needs to be spelled out for you. The Steelers have had the #1 seed to this point because they haven't played the Patriots yet. Once those teams play, the winner of that match up will own the tiebreaker. Did you even read what I posted? I'm gonna assume no, so let me help you out: "To determine home-field priority among Division titleists, apply Wild Card tiebreakers" Now, Ana, can you click the link and read the #1 Wild Card tiebreaker out loud to the class?
  5. And that was... what, 2004? http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures Next time you flatly dispute what I'm saying, you could do a LITTLE research... ;)
  6. If the Patriots win next week they'll have the same record as the Steelers. But the Patriots will have the 1 seed because the tiebreaker is the winner of the regular season match up. So if both teams win out from that point forward, Patriots are the 1 seed and Steelers would be #2
  7. The initial tiebreaker is head to head matchup, Ana! Like you said, good thing the Steelers have home field for next week's showdown
  8. Yeah, this team has always had struggles in Miami. However, the offensive playcalling was abysmal, somehow even worse than the play of the offensive line and wide receivers tonight. Oh well. Next week still essentially decides home field advantage in the AFC. Can't say I'm confident about that match up
  9. Yeah, those games are always too close for comfort. Ravens have been playing the Patriots tough for over a decade
  10. Well, Mike Tomlin was talking about playing the Patriots in the AFC championship a few weeks ago. So it sure seems like he's already worried :p
  11. Yeah, that's tough. Losing him is going to be hard to overcome. Maybe I should take the Ravens this weekend...
  12. Roger got a solid 4 year, $200m extension. There is nothing I love and hate more than the NFL edit: jk it's 5 years, so that's grand
  13. I'm just hoping for a classic AFC North slugfest :) especially given the Patriots play Pitt on a short week, and Miami always puts the hurt on my dude Tawmmy
  14. Sup friends. Better late than never, eh? A few thoughts: -holy crap, the entire league sucks so much this year. I think a decent amount of that is injuries to star players (it seems like every contender in the NFL has lost at least one key contributor for the year,) though quarterback play has been mostly suspect this year, too. -expanding off of this thought, woooo boy does the AFC stank. The fact that the Ravens will likely make the playoffs down their best defender is all anyone really needs to know here. -this seems like the type of year where the greatness of a team's offense or defense can carry them to a title. With that in mind, the only two units that scare me in the AFC are Jags defense and Steelers offense (Ravens defense would've made this list if Jimmy Smith didn't go down) -I'll definitely be disappointed if the Patriots don't repeat given the league-wide play so far, but I think they're far from shoo-ins to SB52. The defense can't stop the run worth a damn and they've been gifted quite a few games this season by idiotic coaching/player mistakes EDIT: also, Ana, I can't say the Bengals made me facepalm last night. I never once thought they'd win that game
  15. *dusts off thread* Happy new year, everyone. Day 1 has already brought about a bunch of absurdity. The Browns essentially bought a 2nd round pick from the Texans by taking Brock from them. Gilmore to the Pats is interesting, especially with Malcolm Butler a RFA. Initially, Danny Woodhead to the Ravens didn't make much sense to me (until news broke of Dixon's PED suspension.) Also, o-linemen are being paid rather handsomely
  16. Ben isn't going anywhere. He's made ambiguous comments about his future before. I do believe Mike Tomlin is holding back his team. Atlanta did some things defensively in the first half of the SB that they hadn't done all season and it worked really well. Sometimes you can't always stick to the same gameplan and expect success. I also kinda agree with Terry Bradshaw's assessment of Tomlin as more of a cheerleader. I doubt he's going anywhere anytime soon, though.
  17. I actually moved last September, I live and work in Boston now. Also I'm actually excited to see what happens in free agency. For example, Julius Thomas is going to be released in the next 4 days or so. Wouldn't mind him in NE for the right price.
  18. Cock, the parade is tomorrow and I can't get out of work. Plus the parade track is like a few blocks from where I work. Guess I'll have to take work off in advance of next year's parade...
  19. What replay were you watching? The ball was over the plane as his knee went down they also review every scoring play... so...
  20. Call me a sore winner. 25 point comeback. 5th SB win in 16 years. Unprecedented dominance in an era meant to promote parity. Oh, also, a complete horseshit suspension to the best player in the league. I'm gonna enjoy this
  21. You're tired of them, sure. Guess what?! I'M NOT TIRED OF THEM! btw Bill has the 4th most cap space in the league next year, so the repeat is on. Sorry in advance. Ana, stop being salty
  22. For real though, this game is over. I feel sick right now. 4-3 in Super Bowls isn't terrible, but this is still painful
  23. This game sucks. Brady isn't retiring soon though, sorry Ana. The Steelers will be free to run their awful defense against him for another 3-4 years ;)
  24. Well, we've just about made it. Seems like the 2 weeks between championship Sunday and the Super Bowl get longer every year. I think the biggest key I'll be watching tomorrow is how Alex Mack is playing. He's been so important to the Falcons' offense and his injury seems to be very serious. Without him playing effectively, I think it'll be tough for the Falcons to establish the ground game and run their offense the way they want to. Of course, if they run the ball well and stick with it, they can control the pace of the game and pull out the victory. On defense, I'm expecting the Patriots to vary their playcalls re: zone or man coverage, as well as who's covering who. Obviously, Julio will draw a double team just about every play. I expect McCourty and Chung to be assigned to cover Coleman/Freeman too, likely swapping their assignments often. Duron Harmon could potentially be the 2nd guy on Julio all game. On offense, I think Dion Lewis is going to get a lot of action. Lewis has been in a lot of situations with a FB lead blocking, and has carried the ball well in those instances. I remember seeing a stat a couple days ago that Atlanta gives up 5.0 YPC on run plays using a FB. Additionally, Tom can audible to an empty backfield with this personnel (he did it effectively against the Steelers 2 weeks ago, hitting Hogan in the seam for 20+ yards) which will allow for some hurry up to try to overwhelm Atlanta's defense. Play action will be huge too. I'm expecting a good game, maybe something like 34-27 Patriots. Wouldn't be shocked to see the Falcons make enough to plays to pull off the upset, though.
  25. The Patriots shouldn't have even been in the damn SB against the '85 Bears so that seems excusable. Also losing by 14 to Favre sucks major balls but all 6 trips since then have almost always featured fascinating story lines (for better and otherwise. . . ) and a nail-biter of a game. That said I'm hoping we slap the Falcons by 25 so I can celebrate all game long in Boston
