    Ah, whoops. I had gotten them mixed up. I thought Azama was Sakura's retainer, Setsuna was Takumi's, Hana was Ryoma's, and Subaki was Hinoka's. Still applicable for Odin, Beruka, and Peri, but at least Odin can go to Sorceror which is pretty deviant from Dark Knight.

    I also prefer Beruka to Camilla. It makes sense from a story perspective, it's just sorta silly from a gameplay perspective, at least for the royal siblings who join at the same time as their retainers anyway.

    Xander and Ryoma being special classes would have fit, at least, but I also like them as Paladin and Trueblade. I don't understand why each royal sibling has a retainer who's in the same class but inferior, though. THAT seems like a bit of a waste to me.

    I don't think we'll see any new characters, sadly. Anna was already in the game, so if they had any other DLC characters planned we'd have found files on them already I imagine.

    Yeah, I press Quote, and the screen scrolls down to the text field, but it's empty. No text, and no quote markup. I'm using IE, so maybe it's a browser issue if that functionality isn't compatible. I also can't embed images or videos without the page crashing, or even link to something. But I tried putting it into plaintext mode and now quoting works. Strange... On the subject of Gunter, that reminds me of his amusing quote if you wake him up roughly ("Since I'm so old, were you worried I was dead?"). Which makes me wonder... Do you think the whole "wake up your spouse by touching them" thing is still in? It's not quite as indecent as face-rubbing your army randomly, but it uses the same gameplay mechanics as skinship so if they cut the whole thing out that's likely gone too.

    Map that gives you infinite supply of Lodestar and Great Lord items Apotheosis 2.0 Some kind of scramble pack focused on the retainers or Corrinsexuals would be nice. And maybe some special story DLC where you control Sumeragi, Mikoto, or Garon?

    "Subaki" is the only one that particularly irks me. Condensing "ou"s into just "o"s is fine, since that doesn't change the pronunciation, but "tsu" is a whole different sound from "su". The random shortenings like Kazahana to just Hana are odd but not particularly irksome to me.

    So we could have had the potential to fondle old man Gunter's crotch. Damnit! So, uh, I know this question is a bit off-topic, but given how often we quote each other in this thread... how exactly does quoting work? I figured it was pressing the Quote button in the bottom-right corner of a post, but that doesn't do anything far as I can tell. It just opens up an empty post textfield. I'm still rather new here so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if my browser just doesn't recognize certain functions. Edit: And I ask that RIGHT after a mod requests everyone remain on-topic. Of course.

    If anyone wants to cancel their pre-order of the SE in light of this development I will be more than glad to take them off your hands...! I'm upset by the loss of skinship but I still really want the game.

    Paying for content that was originally in the game is a bad bad bad bad bad bad idea. Now, if they made it a free piece of DLC available at launch, for those who really want it, that would probably be fine. But that would also be rather stupid from a business perspective since it's already optional anyway and cutting it at least saves them the cost of getting more lines out of the VAs.

    Because A) we're paying them money for a version of the game that may be lacking features the Japanese version had, and B) "bad content" is subjective. Just because you personally disliked it doesn't mean there weren't people here running the whole spectrum from ambivalent to looking forward to it. And just looking it up online isn't the same. Some people wanted to see what the localized/translated versions of some lines would have been, and I'm sure some people want to be able to play with the feature however they wanted to. Like I wanted to maybe poke Ryoma in the eyes to see if he pinches me with his lobster claws. I'm sure there's Ryoma skinship videos online but they're all just rubbing his cheek and letting him talk, or whatever. Or maybe somebody is absolutely infatuated with Anna and wants to non-ironically rub her face and feel like they've got a virtual girlfriend, or whatever. It may be a little weird to you and me but I'm not gonna celebrate that they can't play the game how they wanted anymore.

    So then it would appear to be gone. Sorta disappointed. Even if skinship is a small little thing it's just frustrating on principle to know that they're selling us an incomplete version of the game. It's not a huge deal in the end, but I reserve the right to feel like I'm being shorted. If they simply cut it and didn't include any replacement feature that utilizes the 2D models and more characterization-oriented lines, though, I'm going to be rather pissed. That's a goddamn waste.

    Whether it's an outright lie, honest misinformation, or correct-but-broke-policy-to-report-it, I think Kotaku is gonna get burned worse than Sigurd for this.

    Ah, that's a shame. Helped display the characters' emotional state better than their sprites sometimes.

    Oh, that's interesting. Thank you. I'd love to learn the language, but I haven't even mastered English yet.

    Maybe call his class Young Lion? Not sure what it would use besides swords, though. To avoid overlap with the other amiibo classes all that's left are bows, staves, and kunai, neither of which are really Roy's domain.

    I thought Japanese doesn't really have stressed syllables the same way English and other European languages do.

    The lack of skintone options in Fates doesn't bug me much since Corrin is specifically Hoshidan royalty, so it'd be odd if they were anything other than sorta-Asian. Awakening could have, though, since Robin's mother is unknown and their father is too Hades Shaded to determine what the hell he was.

    Playing through Hyrule Warriors I kept yelling "Lana. Lana. Lana! LANAAAAAAAA!" at Lana. Was good times. Don't see any names that could be reasonably changed to Lana here, though, sadly.

    I doubt it. Benoit isn't that uncommon a name. Though it makes me think of the episode of Archer with a guy named Benoit.
