Nohr has three Dark Mages (Odin, Nyx, and Ophelia), so making one of the latter two a Witch keeps them in a similar role without being too redundant. But if you have the patience you can get enough items to make your entire army have access to Witch, Ballistician, Vanguard, Grandmaster, Dread Fighter, and Dark Flier. No such luck with Lodestar and Great Lord, however.

It would actually be pretty neat if scanning in a Corrin amiibo gave you the opposite-gendered Corrin as a unit. Not necessarily to pair the two together, just to have both versions of Corrin in one game. But I suppose you could always just use the logbook for that...

What if the amiibo units had full supports with Corrin? Though that'd get weird if you married Robin and Corrin together. Like... would that count as reincarnation-selfcest?

I'm not sure what secondary classes I'll take in Birthright and Conquest, or whether I'll play as a female or male Corrin. In Revelations I'll either take Oni Savage for access to Shura, or maybe Ninja if I decide to use a male Corrin and marry him to Beruka so I can turn her into a proper assassin. Failing that I could just pair her with Saizo. Though Basara gets naginatas. Who do I need to A-rank for that if I use a male for Revelations?

My local Gamestahp did a midnight release for Pokemon X and Y, so I think I'll call and figure out if they're releasing it at midnight Thursday night, or just the morning on Friday. While I'm on the phone I may as well pry for information regarding the Special Edition, so it won't be a waste of a call even if they aren't doing it midnight.

Ye olde flintlocke pistoles would be a neat addition, yeah. But probably not as a standard weapon. Maybe some characters could have unique personal weapons that don't fit in the triangle, like whips, flails, or the aforementioned guns.

You guys in Europe and Aussieland DID get Yoshi's Woolly World like half a year before the USA, at least.

The amiibos don't give you the reclass items, just so you know. You only get the Vanguard class via the Vanguard's Dawn DLC. Marth, Ike, Robin, and Lucina are all just bonus units that come in DLC classes without the need for the corresponding DLC.

Are you sure? I was told that Bow Knight was her only reclass option. It's a shame she can't be a Dread Fighter, though. Fat Ninja.

I'm so envious of y'all's Special Editions. But I guess I'm better than EU and AU at the moment.

I don't have any work on Friday, so I'm good to go in that regard. I just have to hope that my local Gamestahp has Special Editions for sale; from what I understand some Gamestops have been getting SE stock that they're not allowed to put up for pre-order? If I can't get the SE then I'll try and get it after the pre-order window expires and they go up for grabs, but if that fails then I guess I'll just mope for the rest of eternity. Or just get Birthright, whichever's easiest.

So funny story about guns in Fire Emblem. Two days ago I had a weird dream. I was playing Fates (Birthright route; I remember lamenting Rinkah's low Strength among other things), and was doing a weird paralogue that explained that this game's equivalent of Einjerhar were apparently more like wind-up automatons rather than magical cards. After fighting my way through a square defensive grid of them, the paralogue boss was the geek collecting them, who was dressed like a classic wooden soldier (sans the hat) and inexplicably had a large hand-carried cannon that fired cylindrical explosive shells; essentially a vaguely-setting-appropriate equivalent of a grenade launcher. He was tough for a weirdo, is all I remember.

..."Pistols"?

They'd also have to design a model, class type, and portraits for him, not to mention hire voice actors. I'd like to see them keep this idea, though, and make the next FE game be compatible with all six FE amiibos and Captain Falcon.

I already have all four compatible amiibos, so I'm looking forward to using them; gonna need an NFC Reader first, though!

Lutz, I could only ever think of the gross guy from 30 Rock. Made me chuckle. Percy is good though. Also, Beruka said potions are stupid.

I'll be doing what I can to get a Special Edition. Even if it means getting to my local Gamestop at the wee hours of the morning and praying they have some for normal sale. In the interim, I've still got some things to clean up in Xenoblade Chronicles X; I finally killed Telethia and Pharsis yesterday, but I still have some other lesser superbosses to take down (Gradivus is a lardass, I keep running out of fuel against him). I also recently redownloaded Evil Genius on Steam and have tried modifying its code; was able to change a few item properties, fix up some bugs that bothered me, and otherwise tailor the game to my tastes, so we'll see what else I can do to it. Shame the modding scene is pretty much dead, they could have given me some good tips.

The removal of Skinship and swimsuits is a little bit odd and disappointing to me, but overall I'm really looking forward to this. The translated script reads really well and the voice acting all sounds good, even Felicia.
