  1. Yeah, I know about Dark Magic getting nerfed to the point of uselessness. I just was under the impression that magic in general (Or at least all the magic-using classes or units) was a lot weaker than it was in Awakening.
  2. With grinding weapon ranks I try to go through a logical flow that lets me build up a new weapon type while still keeping a maxxed-out weapon on hand. Cordelia, for example, has access to all six weapon types between Falcon Knight, Dark Flier, Hero, Bow Knight, Sorceror, and Dark Knight. Assuming I promote her to Falcon Knight first, she'll have max Lance and Staff proficiency. A chain of Falcon Knight -> Dark Flier -> Sorceror -> Dark Knight -> Hero -> Bow Knight ensures she always has an A-rank weapon on hand while she builds up Tomes, Swords, Axes, and Bows in that order. Hero and Bow Knight are interchangeable since they both use Swords, and none of her other classes use Axes or Bows save for Bride (And Cordelia will never be a bride because Chrom doesn't love her).
  3. I dunno, in all my runs of Awakening I find that magic tends to outclass physical weapons in just about every way. The only enemies with good Resistance tend to be War Monks/Clerics, and they don't have much offensive presence anyway. And all Magic is two-ranged by default, giving them a huge advantage over everything except Tomahawks, Levin Swords, and Spears.
  4. I was under the impression magic got nerfed pretty hard here, though?
  5. Maybe Fire Tomes could deal extra damage (Not like x2 or x3, just x1.5 or x1.33) damage to armored units? Or maybe something other than armored units, since armor should logically protect you from fire magic better than it does thunder magic...
  6. I want to see more anima magic types outside of those three. Maybe ice magic that's weak like wind, but inflicts debuffs, or earth magic that hits the target's Defense instead of Resistance.
  7. I see fire. Is Sigurd in the picture somewhere?
  8. So Gamespot sucks at a video game and pans it as "too hard". In other breaking news, water is wet. More on this at 11.
  9. Corrin/Soleil support, now with 100% less roofies. Now it's just kinky, consensual bondage. Still rather silly, but at least it isn't as bad anymore.
  10. It's interesting, but I'd like it better if it and Dread Fighter weren't gender-locked. Walhart in a bride dress, you know you want it. But in all seriousness, Groom would be interesting.
  11. To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if he took his time flying around the world from major population center to major population center "playing with his food", so to speak. The future kids seem pretty well-traveled so I assume they had been around the continents a few times fighting Risen/fleeing Grima before that scene in Ylisstol.
  12. My favorite is: "EEEEYAAAAAAH HA HA HA HA!" ~ Gangrel But runner ups are: Obligatory "Pick a god and pray!" ~ Frederickson "Die, with magnificence!" ~ Virion "You are SO dead!" ~ Stahl, because it's pretty damn apt for what's about to happen. "Rebarbative fool!" and "Begone, foul miscreation!" ~ Miriel "Your jigging is up!", "Now, to face maker-r-r-r-r!", and "Gregor SMASH!" ~ Gregor "Special delivery!" ~ Henry "I am inexorable!" ~ Walmart Not that you're likely to hear it unless he procs Vengeance, but "It is ALL WRITTEN!" ~ Validated Parking Also, just saying, "See how my moustache... moves in the wind!" should have been Cervantes' crit quote and he should have been a Spotpass character.
  13. Wait, how do we know it took future Grima around 10 years to reach his full power? I assumed the future was such a wasteland because it had a full-power Grima floating about doing as he pleased for 10 years.
  14. They can't die. They just suffer a career-ending injury similar to Frederick, Virion, and all the first-gen ladies.
  15. On my first playthrough I wound up with: Chrom / Olivia Lissa / Virioff (Step 1 of Operation: Piss Off Chrom, by letting his sister marry a walking sack of STDs) Frederickson / Sumia Robin / Lu Cena (Step 2 of Operation: Piss Off Chrom, by letting the tactician who let his sister marry a walking sack of STDs marry his daughter) Sully / Donnel Stahl / Maribelle The Vaike / Panne Miriel / an empty pocket of air Lon'qu from Pennsylvania / Nowi (This support made me laugh) Ricken / Cordless Phone Gregor / Cherche Libra / Tharja Ow the Wain / Nah Brady / Noire Cynthia / Inigo Kjelle / Gerome Laurent of Arabia / Morgan Severa / Yarne Guy Ass and Henry were my bachelors-for-life.
  16. Flavia and Basilio also still show up post-recruitment. Off the top of my head I remember Basilio whining about Grima's Super-Spiky-Reduce-Everyone-To-1-HP Attack. The two of them have Plot Armor, as a result.
  17. I can answer that: Grima himself is the reason, and it's not that it took Grima so long in the future, it's that it took him so short in the present. Grima in the future had to simply rely on Giraffe Dad doing everything to revive him along the natural flow of time. Present Grima got revived quicker because Future Grima came back and meddled with the timeline to keep Lucina in check and expedite his own revival.
  18. Can the amiibo units staff the mess hall? I'm curious as to the quality of the food they cook if so.
  19. Hmm, I'll give that a try if I can't figure out with Gamestop. Thanks!
  20. I was able to get Super Smash Bros. Brawl two days early years ago. But I checked and that store isn't even stocking the regular games, let alone the special edition I so crave.
  21. So is there any truth to those rumors I heard that Gamestops got more Special Editions, they're just not allowed to sell them as pre-orders? Because if they're true, I'm gonna be first in line at midnight.
  22. Just called. My local Gamestop is indeed doing a midnight release, but when I asked about whether they had copies of the Special Edition that were for sale rather than pre-order, he said he hadn't heard anything about that... I'm at near rock-bottom confidence about getting the SE.
  23. Every time I see a post from you, Ebony, you remind me more and more of a close friend of mine. Aside from having a brother. So what if (Yes, I will bold it every time) all of the game's Corrinsexuals were part of the first-gen genepool? What would Izana, Shura, Gunter, and Yukimura's kids be like? What if Anna had her own kid (making her DLC two characters for the price of one), and it was another Anna who looks biologically identical to her mother and is also named Anna (Though perhaps with a different starting class and portrait, to feel like less of a ripoff)?
