Definitely would like to see their take on a Middle Eastern nation, whether it be pre-Islam or Islamic.
Cavaliers -> Mamelukes, Armor Knights -> Ghulams, Heroes -> Janissaries. Great Knights -> Elephants/Cataphracts
Assassins would definitely become the Hashahshin (which is actually where we get the English word).
As for Clerics, Priests...well in some games they incorporate Indian culture into an umbrella "Mid-Eastern" kingdom, so perhaps we can see Hindu Brahmin types or something.

Some more weapon phrases that might show up
長巻 = literally long scroll/wrapping, but means Nagamaki, which is a sword-staff, or a sword with an extremely long handle.
While the Oni class uses maces, I feel they might throw in actual traditional Japanese clubs such as the
金棒 (Kanabo, or golden/metal stick)edit: saw you had that already and the 鉄棒 (Tetsubo, or steel stick)And the eastern mages uses fans right? We might see 鉄扇 (Tessen, or steel fan) in use.
-
A harsh environment breeds hardy warriors who (with a little training) and overpower the lesser soldiers of more civilized kingdoms with their ferocity.
-
I could've sworn I saw "飛刀" somewhere, literally "flying sword/knife" but I guess for us it could be "throwing dagger"
I love how my brain is wired to make me read some of the kanji characters in Mandarin Chinese.
Heh! Same here. At least half the time the kanji sounds similar when they read it in kanon...or onyomi...I think....so many rules.

I'd say the continents are on the same planet, the Outrealm gives us different versions of that planet.
-
I can read Chinese traditional letters so if there's some letters or phrase that don't make sense I might be able to help.

Next LP soon....
Looks like the canon ending to XCOM was the bad one. Also I don't know if it's just me but the youtube video version's audio isn't the correct one. If it isn't for you, check the vid in the ign link.
Get ready to make descendants of your characters. Maybe PrincessK is still alive.ALSO MOTHERFUCKING SWORDS HNNNNGH

Also never found this article but from the words of Designer Jake Solomon himself: THE VOLUNTEER DOES NOT DIE.
Also can a kind moderator move this to the correct forum please?

That proposed idea for an excuse that you put forth sounds awfully like the infamous "mana transfer rituals" from Fate/Stay Night [a visual novel] and its spin-offs. Although not as explicit, admittedly.
Hmm..didn't know that lol
Anything to keep it from being too

Hoshido's secret to eternal youth.
Us Asians and our baby faces
I get mistaken for 16 despite being much older than that.

Hope not.
Maybe they'll put in an excuse like Kamui's special powers of rejuvenation through touching or something to make it
slightly less lewd -
Here we go.

(don't know about the Roman Empire, though)
The only stigma was if the guy liked being on the receiving end, nobody cared about the guy doing the thrusting.
-
Even odder, the Clan Soldiers seem to be a mix of Nohr and Hoshido units. Maybe they're people who aren't from Nohr or Hoshido, but have similar cultures?
Probably. Maybe they're minor peoples have have been heavily culturally influenced by both.
If they have clans too, perhaps their theme is something different.
Romans made client states out of other kingdoms, whereas in the Medieval west they had different knighthood orders and guilds.

Ah, I misread from being tired (thanks, school!). Sorry about that.
Yeah, all these new skills might be able to make characters with relatively lower stat growths more useful or at least allow for the creation of scenarios where some characters are more useful than others and we can avoid the character spam in New Mystery

In times of war between great empires/kingdoms many lesser peoples may find themselves embroiled in the conflict...whether voluntary or not...

Codename Steam felt like XCOM + VC for me.
Regarding the X-hater skills, that could be a VC influence, though also one from D&D where Rangers could pick a Hated Monster species and they would receive a combat bonus against that particular type of monster.
I do like it though, new features can be nice.

Not sure if depressed or just the Ilyana vibe, which I find
adorableWhy the weird chestplate though...

All 3DSs and 3DS games are region locked. So you'd need to buy an AUS/EU 3DS.
Though Australia and Europe use the same region. You playing a US game on an EU 3DS shouldn't be possible. Unless you're using that one exploit, which never worked with the eshop in the first place.
Oh, didn't know that regarding AUS/EU.
-
Well if Australia really does get it Q3 this year, I might just import it from Australia, then. I doubt it would be much different from the EU version.
Wouldn't that create a problem if you were to use eShop?
I remember playing a European 3DS game on my NA 3DS and when I tried to access the DLC on it I got booted out

Wait, since Hoshido apparently doesn't have normal horses, and Pegasus Knight's promotion can now use bows, could it be that Archers don't promote to Bow Knight... but to that instead? Awesome!
I was thinking Hoshido might have some more special classes of their own. Samurai were traditionally skilled with both bow and spear/lance. And a sword but that's more of a sidearm for them.

The losing kingdom can either be annexed or turned into a client state like the Begnion-Crimea relationship

Third path - "We leveled both countries, now let's start anew"
Fire Emblem: Total War!!!!

Considering how in times of war there's always a use for sellswords, hirelings, mercenaries, and turncoats, I'm sure they can fit in a lot of new characters.
Though I do wonder if CAPTAIN BLONDE, DEFENDER OF NOHR is a mercenary or a Nohrian soldier.

This is true. Did anyone ever use camels in combat? Not sure if the Sassanids or Parthians did it.
There is indeed a rich history to draw from here; even before the Islamic period a game developer can use the Sassanids, Parthians, Persians, Nabateans, Sabaeans as inspiration.
