  1. My pleasure! :D And yeah, these jokes are perfectly fine, as long as they syat exagerated numbers like these, I know it will mean a 10/10. ;) --- Anyway, Hector on a horse got himself a very solid rating of 7.61/10, with the help of 18 voters. By the way, thank you for your constant participation, I appreciate it! ^^ But now, it is time to analyse the first unmounted unit of the game that isn't an armor knight - and also the little brother of our favorite cook - Azel! ------- Class: Mage (Level 1) Christmas Spirit Holy Blood: Minor Falalalalaaa-lala-la-la! Fala Personal Skills: Pursuit Class Skills: None Stats: 30 HP (50%) 0 Strength (10%) 10 Magic (40%) 7 Skill (20%) 9 Speed (50%) 2 Defense (20%) 2 Resistance (10%) 6 Luck (20%) My thoughts: Azel is exactly what you'd except from the kinda well-known Merric archetype: fast, good offense, and bad defense. However, I do feel like our boy Azel take that to the extreme, with stellar Speed but terrible protection - of both kinds, even - so he is not exactly a frontline fighter. Despite that, I think that both his bases and his growths compliment him well, which will certainly help him. What does not help him is that he's a FIRE MAGE that starts with a basic Fire tome! This magic is the heaviest of all 3 anima types without any advantages to compensate this, so he'll have some problems at the beginning because of that fact. However, the biggest offense against him is that he only has 5 movement until promotion. This makes him very, very hard to train, especially so when he shows up alongside his bud Lex :P BUT, fret not! He actually has other positives! To begin with, he has only one Skill, but like with Sigurd, it's arguably the best one: Pursuit. This will greatly compliment his solid attack Speed and allow him to double quite often, to the point where he was designed to one-round an average Lvl. 1 Brigand in the Prologue, and that is REALLY cool! But if you are serious about training this little dude, you'll be pleasantly surprised: not only are his promotions gains very solid, he actually gains a horse! This single thing makes him suddently exceptionaly good in my opinion, because he will no longer worry about catching up and possibly miss lots of EXP. And, a little finishing touch, he makes a pretty decent father because of his growths and Pursuit, so there's always that. So yeah, even if he has the disadvantage of only 5-movement, I really like our little Azel, so despite his challenging training, I'll give him an 8/10 with some positive bias, once again. :)
  2. Once again, I'll Azel's part for later today. But since I think (?) Lex got less votes than usual, this shouldn't be much of a problem. See y'all later! ^^
  3. There you go, you just summarized my thousands words into a hundred. I feel like I completely wasted my time! xD With that said, I'd really like to start the FE4 remake master race. ;)
  4. 100% true, especially with his Sliver Sowrd of Doom! :D
  5. To be honest, I never really though that Lex became bad or underwhelming when chapter 4 came, since he can kill a mage and retreat thanks to Canto, has some nice defence to tank out the Pegasus Knights with Swords and has WP advantage against pretty much all the Armor Knights/Generals present. Oh well, maybe I'm just very bad at noticing these type of things...
  6. For Lex as a father, he WOULD be horrible for Magic users, BUT since he has Vantage, he'll enable his kids to have the incredibly deadly Vantage+Wrath combo, and since they'll have decent HP, Defence and Resistance, they sure aren't gonna die easily!
  7. 3- Your favourite foot-locked unit wouldn't be a bad choice either!
  8. Yeah, even with the help of many Ghaststation (an obscure Fire Emblem YouTuber) memes, the Power of Pursuit and a lone 6/10 vote, Ardan is still our worst-ranking dude on the tier list, with an ABYSMAL 1.85/10 according to 16 voters this time around. I do feel bad for Ardan despite him being a terrible unit. :( Ah well, it's time for the very first Axe Knight (and one of the very few) in the series, our boy Lex! Class: Axe Knight (Level 4) Holy Blood: Minor Neir Personal Skills: Vantage, Paragon Class Skills: None Stats: 33 HP (90%) 10 Strength (40%) 10 Skill (20%) 11 Speed (20%) 9 Defense (50%) 0 Resistance (5%) 8 Luck (20%) My thoughts: Lex is quite an odd unit in my opinion. For starters, he has some killer all-around base stats, barring Resistance and MAYBE Defense/HP, but except for the latter two and Strength, his growths rates aren't too spectacular (but not absolute garbage, mind you). Now, for his skills. Since he does not have any double-attack skills, he should never attack twice in a single round of combat. However, Lex shares one of his skills with Ardan, which is Vantage, which is quite alright. But, here's what sets Lex above others and into quite an interesting position: his unique skill Paragon. It's quite simple really, he just gains double the experience. The result? He'll gain levels much more quickly than anyone excluding Sigurd in the army and be quite an effective mini-Jeigan thanks to his beastly Defense. This also means that he'll reach promotion much before anyone in the army without the Paragon band, and his gains are quite solid too! All that's fine and all, but since he can't attack more than once, what's the point? Well, Chapter 1 will turn him into a beast. Thanks to a quite entertaining conversation, Lex will recieve his almighty Brave Axe, which will carry him all the way through the end! This axe is lighter, has some great power, and lets him attack twice in one round with a BIG whack! This is very likely to be the best axe in the game, and if you combine all of this, it's easy to see why most consider Lex to be the best axe-user in the game. Sure, his Res is crap, and his Skill/Speed/Luck will kinda fall back eventually, but because of his weapon, he won't need them that much anyway. Plus, he's MOUNTED! I'll give him an 8.5/10, because he has a slow start without his (almost) personal weapon and still has some flaws, but his pros certainly outweights his cons! :)
  9. Okay guys, I'm sorry, but Lex's turn will need to wait a bit. I'm quite busy cause of college, so I'll only have time to update this topic later today. Sorry. :/
  10. I hope you'll dig deeper and deeper in the series, like I did after played Fire Emblem on the GBA, although Birthright is really good too! In any case, welcome aboard and I hope you'll enjoy your stay at this forest! ^^
  11. LOL, it's like he was stuck as an unpromoted cavalier forever. :P Besides that, experiences like the one you described is one of the things that makes this game special: if you do the right things and buy the right stuff on your units, anyone can be good, and I found this amount of possible customization to be really, REALLY cool! :D
  12. My point was more about that a sword armor is not really useful anyway, because why should you tank those inaccurate axes when other units that are sword-locked can most likely dodge them anyway? Also, Noish's and Alec's results were also updated, which bring them to 5.51/10 and 5.94/10 respectively.
  13. Yup. I still might add that inheritance for Leif and Altena is swapped, in which Cuan's stuff goes to Altena, and Ethlyn's stuff goes to Leif. Same for Briggid actually! Also, Finn will always start will a bonus Iron Lance, married or not. Hope this still helps you out. :)
  14. HERESY! Actually, to be honest, all of what you said is still true: he does have nice defense and is quite cool for the first two chapters that are just glorified Axe-lands, and it's also true that you can MAYBE make him work if you're really patient. Problem is, Lex outdoes his tanking job by a long shot in long term AND has the movement to keep up with your army. And there's not just that, because let's not forget that many other sword-locked fighters (Ayra, Holyn, Beowulf, even Alec) can dogde most axe attacks anyway, so I personally don't really see the point. Still, it's nice to see him getting some credit for a change. :)
  15. Our Turban-lover cavalier got an average of 5.93/10 with a total of 15 votes, which is a bit better than Noish, at least. But... It's time, folks. It's time to praise Arden! Class: Sword Armor (Level 3) Holy Blood: None Personal Skills: Vantage Class Skills: Great Shield (Promotion) Stats: 36 HP (90%) 13 Strength (50%) 5 Skill (10%) 4 Speed (20%) 13 Defense (40%) 0 Resistance (5%) 3 Luck (10%) My thoughts: Wow. Even if I tried, I'm not sure that I could make a worse unit! First, he's a low movement unit in Genealogy of the Holy War. Second, he has no means of double attacking without any outside help. Third, his promotions gains are awful. Four, Any stat that isn't Power, Defense and HP are abysmal. Five, even in these stats, he's eaten by another unit in every single way excluding base stats (Lex). Six, said Lex has Paragon as a bonus to Vantage Seven, Lex also has the movement advantage. And finally, he makes for an awful father, except maybe Taillte (Wrath+Ambush) and when paired with the castle gate. And yet, I'm not even mad at him, because it's not really his fault. The dude's nice enough, has good weapon ranks after promotion and Great Shield, has almost perfect availability (can't reach an enemy on the first turn...) and still gets you the Pursuit Ring if you know how to get it, but that's about it. Ardan is just comically bad, and that's kinda sad. I'll give him a 1.5/10. Even with the Power of Pursuit, our savior Arden cannot escape this sad fate. At least, not for me.
  16. Poor Ardan xD I think the minimal rating would be 1/10, but you can kill it further to 0.5/10 with negative bias, just in case. And since you're not the only one who asked, I'll accept to update the ratings for Sigurd and Noish. So, what are your ratings for these two?
