  1. I always do it at level 20, except for the NES games, FE3 and SOMETIMES FE5.
  2. 1- I'm not even sure that I even saw a real shooting star in my life, so the answer is obviously no. :P 2- I'm not 100% sure what that is. Would you care to explain it to me? 3- I PICK A GOD AND PRAY! xD To be serious, I honestly just retract on myself and play games/do nothing until the situation hits me right in the face, to then just... move on to something else. It works most of the time for me! :) 4- I am a follower most of the time, mostly because I don't speak loud enough to have my ideas well-heard. That, and my social skills, while not awful, aren't the greatest either, so i can't really be a leader under that condition. Autism really sucks, let me tell you... 5- Not in the slightest. If you do, that's okay and all that, but as long as I don't see any real proof about its existence, I'll be just blind and ignore it. Kind of like everything religion-related, actually... Thanks for your interest... um... ____ That's an odd username xD ! I hope my answers aren't too disappointing.
  3. 1- My least favourite being Thracia 776, I think the worst part of the game is just the unstoppalbe b*llsh*t the game endlessly throws at you, at any time. Sure, sometimes it requires some clever and fair strategies to counter it, but most of the time, if you're playing blind, you'll just be forced to reset more than 10 times because of the same problem. Such things includes Cyas, status staves, capturing healers, thrones with +10 defence, the fatigue system, ambush reinforcements, and probably much more! This game is just way too unfair for my tastes, and I just can't enjoy it despite its great graphics, great music and very solid storyline, although not quite as good as FE4. ;) The first few chapters are actually fun though... 2- It's a toss-up between Mega Man X and Super Castlevania IV, both on the Super Nintendo. I love action-platformers in general, and these are probably the two best that I've ever played. I especially love Castlevania IV's atmosphere and soundtrack, which are extremely impressive for an early SNES-game. As for Mega Man X, this game has some near-perfect pacing, which is coupled by some very cool level design and an absolutely badass soundtrack. Really, my favourite game of all-time is either one of these two or FE4 itself. You decide. ;) 3- ...Fire Emblem. And I'm serious. xD Good runner-up franchises would be Castlevania, Mega Man, Turrican (I doubt aynone will know about it, but oh well) and Kirby. I mean, who could hate this adorable piece of badassness? :3 4- Absolutely! Even if it means toning the game down a bit (not too much though). Because if it makes this masterpiece of a game much more accessible to other players in the series that are used to Fates/Awakening, it would make me that much happier in life. Plus, I don't see why Nintendo shouldn't to be honest. :P 5- S E T H M A S T E R R A C E But for Pure Jagens, I'd say that my favourite is actually the original Jeigan, just to laugh at his stupidly low growth rates in FE1! xD But I'll be honest here: I'm one of those people who never really liked Jeigans in the first place, because I always do just fine with growth units in the beginning, and they always seem to kill enemies instead of weakening them, which sucks. And they obviously aren't viable for Endgame. So yeah, not a big fan of standard Jeigans... 12- Without going into details, I do love my mom a bit more than my dad, but I still like them both quite well! ^^ 13- Nope. All I know is that it was a 1939 movie, and it also got the most box-office recipes of all-time (with inflation) for a long, long time. So it's obviously a well-regarded classic. However, I don't watch movies very often, so I'll probably take a while, to say the least... 14- Not much, I'm afraid... I've cooked a few simple meals here and there (like pasta and such), but nothing on a regular basis, so don't except me to receive for Christmas anytime soon. :P
  4. 7- Hmm... good question... I'd say John F. Kennedy, Winston Churchill and and former Prime Minister of the Québec state from 1976 to 1984, René Lesvèques, because important politicians like them (at least, they are to me) seem to be the most interesting people to talk about. :) 8- Sigurd (FE4), Ike (FE9) and Richter Belmont (Castlevania series), just to taste the latter's famous pork chops! xD (Seriously, they look effing delicious!) 9- Alvis (FE4, again), Meta Knight (Kirby series) and the Black Knight (FE9), because they are all great vilains for different reasons (well, Meta Knight is debatable, but whatever), but also because I want to understand why they decided to act the way they did, especially in Alvis's case. Travant from the same game, wouldn't be a bad idea either. 10- I don't think that it's possible to truly love more than one person at a time, because that's just not how the brain works. Even if it was possible, this practice is more often than not associated with the worst aspects of religions, most notably Islam. The women (and much more rarely, men) who get involved in such a thing are often badly treated by their ''master'' because of that one little sentence in the Coran that, if twisted in a specific way, tells you that you should do so. And most of all, they are still not really loved by their men/women anyway. So, what's the point? Okay, I haven't got into a relationship yet, so I'm probably not the best person to answer this question. Sorry :/ 11- I can't really answer this one, because believe it or not, I haven't played a single ''real'' Pokémon game in my life! The only one that I own is Pokémon Stadium on the N64, and it's honestly not a bad game, but I was never really interested in the whole concept of the series. Maybe I should one day, though. Still if they haven't already, it would be cool if they did one for Gyarados, just to push further the running gag of Magikarp. xD I really like your questions Jotari, thanks again! :) 1- You seem to be a very emotional person. And by that, I mean that you often react very vively when I do/post something that is against your opinion. For example, when I called Sylvia annoying (I was really dumb honestly xD), you sure weren't happy about it. Still, you are a pretty funny person, and when I justfied myself, you can become very friendly and sociable, even sharing little bits of your personal life! So yeah, despite your flaws, you're a cool person, and I don't think that you should change. Plus, everyone that has fully played FE4 is a friend of mine. ;) Also, you have good taste in profile pics 2- Well, she is definitively the best dancer in the series, except MAYBE Feena in FE3 because of her actually good combat abilities. But I'm 100% certain that she is the most useful on the battlefield, even if she is very bad in combat. Plus, she's pretty cute. :3 I was probably in some form of drunkness when I said she was annoying in my FE4 tierlist thread... But I don't like her to the point of making a true master race... 3- Not yet. Heck, i still haven't even seen gameplay of them. But, I've heard that they are really good games, so maybe I'll play them someday... Eleanor is really cute though Thanks for your interest Sophie!
  5. Okay, I think the whole Sylvia master race whatever has gone far enough. xD Speaking of, she got an average of 7,91/10 with... 26 votes!? How the hell did this happened? Let's finally wrap up Chapter 2 now, shall we? We'll now focus on the only flier of the first generation, Fury/Ferry/Erin/Green-haired chick! Class: Pegasus Knight (Level 6) Holy Blood: None Personal Skills: Pursuit Class Skills: Continue (after promotion) Stats: 32 HP (50%) 11 Strength (20%) 1 Magic (10%) 12 Skill (20%) 18 Speed (30%) 9 Defense (30%) 9 Resistance (10%) 7 Luck (20%) My thoughts: Fury is a pretty solid unit. She joins in Chapter 2 at Level 6. Yes, this sounds absolutely disgusting, but she has some REALLY good bases for her level, and is a lance user where axes start to be way less present, which is a good tradeoff. However, to compensate this, she actually has one of the worst growth rates in the game, to the point where they would barely be considered good in Gaiden! This big issue is however well balanced by her very solid promotion gains, which are hampered by not gaining Power, and that's very bad to be honest. But, she does have the oh-so important Pursuit skill, as well as Continue after promoting, which is good enough. But, the key aspect of Fury/Ferry/Erin/Green-haired chick is that she's a flier: the only one in the first gen. This very fact will automatically give her a lot of importance and utility in your team, although not as much as in other FE games, because of the lack of rescuing and that she cannot use roads and terrain to her advantage. Still, she is more-or-less a must-train, and thanks to her bases, her combat is quite solid all around, especially if you give her Finn's Brave Lance at any point. So, she'll recieve a 7.5/10 from me.
  6. 6- It was hard to properly format this post. :P Besides, I can barely see the difference.
  7. Oh wow, people actually remember me? That's actually pretty cool! So yeah, I hope I won't mess this up! ^^ [spoiler=Rezzy!]1- I am very bad at remembering first impressions for... well pretty much anyone, and you're no exception. :P However, I do think that you seem like a nice person, one that is very caring and friendly to anyone that talks to you. I think that this part of you shines the brightest in your whole Est thread, where you took the time to tell everyone about what happened to your little cutie, while also answering to almost anyone, even if it was just a generic ''thank god it wasn't serious'' kind of message, and I really appreciate that! Besides, your art is not too shabby. Well, it's at least an hundred times better than what I can do! xD Oh, BTW, I hope that Est passed a happy first Christmas with you both. :) 2- What I'd love to do is to work at Nintendo one day, even though it will be very unlikely for me to do. :P But really, my dream carrier would probably be as a game designer or music composer for video games, just to be implied with my all-time favourite hobby/passion (although I do like Anime as well :P). Problem is, it's not really evident to have a formation for this specific job, so I might be stuck in limbo for a while. :/ 3- I honestly doubt that you will be familiar with any of the games that I'll list (I'm not a big movie watcher) because they're all from the 80s and 90s, so... Yeah... Sorry... :( A game that I like but everyone else hates is probably Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. This game is widely criticized for being way too confusing and tedious, to the point where a guide is constantly needed to progress, but despite that, I do really like it! It has some great graphics - for the time, of course - a badass soundtrack, and I honestly think that the adventure feeling that the game gave was really cool! I'm also generally a sucker for Metroidvania games, so this was definitively in my alley. ;) 4- The game in this unfortunate category has to be Demon's Crest, a very obscure game by Capcom on the Super Nintendo. The very few people that have played it all say that this game is a hidden masterpiece... and I just don't see it at all. Sure, the graphics are downright spectacular (even for today in my opinion) and the music is good as well, but the game requires you to revisit stages more than once in order to get even plot-important items, which I really don't like. Even then, the hero (Firebrand) controls very oddly and can only shoot one projectile at a time in the beginning, and that really sucks and ruins the game in my opinion. This is sure not Mega Man, let me tell you. :/ 5- If I'm allowed to, why not? I really don't mind! ^^ Thanks for your interest Rezzy! :D [spoiler=Espeon!]They are all really cute, and I love cute things! :D (That probably explains why I'm a big Kirby fan...) I think my favourite is the 2nd one, because I really like the hat, and also the blue color in general. Great job on the animation, too! Keep it up!^^ [spoiler=Jotari!]1- Honestly, being alive, and I'm actually serious! I was born 3 months before term, with a paralysis to one of my vocal chords (I still speak fine, though) and I was immediately forced into tons of operations, including one for my poor heart. I had to stay in here for three months, and then to be plugged to a noisy machine at home to allow me to breathe better. The irony is that it was at the wedding anniversary of my parents that I could finally be released from it. :) So yeah, it's kind of a miracle that I survived to all of this. But fortunately, I'm perfectly fine now, so no need to worry. ^^ Besides that, um... I guess beating the original Ninja Gaiden (NES) in 20 minutes is something I'm very proud of, but I don't have much that is thrilling to be honest. :P 2- Turrican II on the Amiga. An absolutely awesome action-platformer with great animation, probably one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in a video game ever, some great controls and a fantastic level-design which features very large levels to explore to find tons of gems, extra lives, upgrades and such. Give it a try, be it legally or not! (especially if you like old video games like me) Gameplay: 3- I'm currently reading the sixth volume of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. It's pretty hard to read, but still pretty good nonetheless. ;) I'm not really a bookworm though. 4- I once went in Europe for a family trip two summers ago, which included a two-week stay in Italy. That's officially the farthest I've ever been from my home, Canada. It was a pretty fun trip, but a very tiring one. 5- Seth's growth rates. Okay okay, I'll stop :P To be honest, I think it has to be one of the rainforests I saw in Costa Rica.I usually don't like these kind of things, but in one of the rainforests (can't remember the name), there was a whole part of it where some incredibly thick fog was surrounding everything around me, except for the vegetation itself. However, when the trees suddenly stopped to hide the sky, that's when I realized how thick it was: I could literally see nothing from said sky, only the fog and the little plants on the ground. At this very moment, I felt like I was in some sort of psychedelic dream, and it was absolutely breathtaking. I know that I haven't described it too well, but I hope you'll get the idea! Anyway, thanks for the questions Jotari! [spoiler=Eleanor Hume!]1- That is one tough question for me! I think that I'll go with the epic feeling of the battle themselves. Even if there IS some tedious map design for that (aka Chapter 5 and 7), the creators really nailed how to make you feel like you were at one big war in the whole continent. No matter if its by the quite big number of enemies, the way that they told you the (in my opinion, sorry Rezzy :P) fantastic story, the music that they chose for xy scene, how the different chapters match almost perfectly the world map of the game, or even just the classes themselves, it really feels like the whole country's sake is playing out right now, one turn at a time! :) Of course, the music is excellent too! 2- There's still some occasionally tedious map design for all of this to happen. And I'll admit that it does suck that you can't trade your items. Also, I guess the graphics aren't the best? I mean, they're still good enough, but it's not the flashy awesomeness of the GBA games, you know? If I had to pick one, it'll probably be the no-trading mechanic. 3- I am mostly fine with it to be honest. I actually played and loved the heck out of Fates, especially Birthright (Conquest is a close second), and Awakening - while still one of the weaker games in the series - was still a very solid experience for me. And I think that the anime-esque art style that the newer games are going for fits very well. I'll admit that the story took a big hit recently (Birthright's wasn't too bad, though), but as long as the gameplay is still in check - and it is! - it's fine by me! But maybe they should tone down the whole waifu thing. 4- THERE'S. SO. MANY. OF. THEM! Am I really forced to pick just one? Well, I'll try and give you two of my favourites: one that is a chiptune, and one that is much more recent. ;) (You can actually find me in the comments section! xD) If you wanna see more of my favs, I'll be glad to! :D 5- The only other tactical RPG that I've played so far is the original Shining Force o the Sega Genesis. It was pretty fun and had some cool ideas to make it different from FE (unpredictable level-ups and promotions games being one), but sadly suffers from very bland map design, just like Fire Emblem Gaiden. Speaking of, this is the closest thing to FE2 that I've played so far. That, or probably FE8. I'd recommend the game for those who likes the older FE games, like me! ;) Thanks to you too for your interest, Eleanor! ^^
  8. But why was May that neglected level and stat-wise?
  9. The grand Holsety master got a solid 7.13/10 after 20 votes, which is by quite a bit the best rating a foot unit has so far. Will it stay that way? It's now the day for one of the most... special characters in the game, Sylvia! Class: Dancer (Level 1) Holy Blood: Minor Blaggi Personal Skills: Continue, Prayer Class Skills: Dance Stats: 28 HP (50%) 3 Strength (10%) 0 Magic (30%) 4 Skill (10%) 12 Speed (10%) 1 Defense (10%) 5 Resistance (40%) 6 Luck (30%) My thoughts: She is the worst unit in the game combat-wise. Poor bases except in Speed, very bad growths everywhere, no promotions, bad weapon ranks, etc. etc. etc. She is clearly not designed for attacking foes, so much that a special theme even plays should she even get threatened in the first place! This wouldn't be so bad if her survivability wasn't so poor, which might lead to some annoying resets. She does have Prayer to compensate all of this (and Continue, for some reason...) and that might help her in that regard. Here's the thing though: she dances. She gives one more turn to allies that want the extra action - and yes, I said allies, because for the first and one of the few times in the series, dancers can refresh up to four people at the same time, which is incredibly useful in some situations. So basically, you can use her to give Sigurd/Finn/Cuan/Lex another shot at the enemy or use her to make so that foot units can keep up without any problem. Too bad that she can't survive for sh*t. Oh well. I'll give her a 7/10, because she's annoying as a character and caused me many resets personally, but she IS very useful in your army, be it on or off the battlefield... I'm so sorry. You know what? Looking back at who she is, I don't really think that she's that bad. I don't especially like her, but she does bring some funny comic relief when she speaks to almost anyone in the army, just by how... out of place she is in an army. This is mostly notable with her convo with Sigurd and Alec in Chapter 2, which are quite funny in my opinion. So yeah, scratch that, I don't really dislike her anymore. :P Still, because I've resetted many times because of her poor survivability, I'll still give her a 7/10, but she's still very useful on and off the battlefield... I'm so sorry. Again. By the way, I have yet to try LevinxFury, so I really can't pronounce myself on that. However, I can say that Fee and Sety were both excellent with Noish as a father, thanks to his amazing skillset (Critical is very appreciated) and his decent Strength for Fee. You just need to give Sety a Magic Ring to ensure his awesomeness. Lex is also very solid for Fee, but not as much for Sety, so...
  10. Hey everyone! I just wanted to stop by and wish to all of you a Merry Christmas to everyone here! I hope that you'll have a great time with your respective families! ^^
  11. Wow. I'm honestly kinda surprised that Beowulf got a 5.41/10 after 16 votes. I mean, for a mounted unit with Pursuit, this is a really low score... It's now time for the best fighter in the game, who joins alongside some random wind mage dude, Sylviaa- wait, what? Scratch that, for our 18th day, it's time to look at Levin! ^^ Class: Bard (Level 6) Holy Blood: Major Holsety Personal Skills: Continue, Critical Class Skills: None Stats: 34 HP (90%) 1 Strength (10%) 12 Magic (30%) 12 Skill (40%) 16 Speed (90%) 5 Defense (20%) 9 Resistance (10%) 7 Luck (20%) My thoughts: Lewyn is probably the only unit without Pursuit that is able to constantly kick lots of asses, and itS' easy to see why: even if he joins at a low level, his base stats are pretty awesome anyway. He also has some very good growths, overkillingly so in HP and Speed, and also has access to Continue and Critical, which thanks to his high Skill/Speed, will activate very often! However, he is kinda squishy, and things might get bad if the RNG is unfair to him, so don't rely on him too much. HOWEVER, his Defense will not mater anymore when in Chapter 4, because he'll receive the best tome in the entire series, Forseti. It has 30 Might, is very light, and gives 10 Skill and 20 SPEED. He pretty much will not die past this point, trust me. Yeah, he's foot-locked and could have better availability, but it abrely matters in my book, he's just that awesome! Lewyn gets a 9/10 with positive bias, because he's also quite the well-developped character. :3
  12. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you too! I hope you'll both enjoy your time with your families! :D
  13. ...Oifaye is the sexiest male then. And before you ask, Seth does not count: he created his own archetype. ;)
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmmaSMa5-w8
  15. That's an... odd way to put it. xD I know it's probably not the wisest of all ideas to listen to a FE4 fanboy, but I still think that you should play FE4, because even though it's obviously not perfect (yes, even I will admit it has flaws :P), it is undeniably a very important entry in the Fire Emblem series, just by the many new things it brought to the table, be it a recurring thing in the series (Skills, Weapon Triangle, Light/Dark Magic) or not (Home castles, Holy Blood). Plus, it has the arguably sexiest most badass Jeigan in all of Fire Emblem, Oifaye! ;)
  16. ^ You really should pair him up with Ayra someday. Their kids will have so many skills, including Critical. It's awesome! :D
  17. In my 3rd run of FE7, this Eliwood just kept getting Defense like crazy, while still getting some incredible stats otherwise. Enjoy!
  18. You're sort of wrong. The only other convos that Noish has is with his potential lovers, but unlike Alec and Ardan, that's it. No Sylvia flirting nor Power of Pursuit shenanigans for him. :P Yeah, I think Noish is even less remarkable than Beowulf character-wise...
  19. Although the votes weren't as polarized as usual for foot units standards, Lachesis still got an okay rating of 6.47/10 after 17 votes. Now, if you want to vote for this poll, you'll have to hand me 10 000$, or else your vote will be worth nothing in my eyes... Get it? Cause it's Beowulf's turn and it's supposed to be a joke and... *ahem* Let's go further into chapter 2 with the first Free Knight in the series, Beowulf! ^^ Class: Free Knight (Level 9) Holy Blood: None Personal Skills: Pursuit, Charge Class Skills: Continue (After Promotion) Stats: 38 HP (80%) 14 Strength (40%) 0 Magic (5%) 11 Skill (40%) 11 Speed (30%) 10 Defense (20%) 0 Resistance (5%) 3 Luck (20%) My thoughts: To make it short, he's good, but not outstanding. It's kind of a bummer that you have to pay to recruit him, but when you do, he'll do his job just fine. His base HP and Power are good enough, but the rest of his stats are kinda eh otherwise, and he does join at a sort of low level. This is especially bad for a sword-locked unit like him - even if he has a holy poney -, because he joins in Chapter 2, where lance users start to be much more frequent. But, he does come with some solid growths, barring Defence, Luck and Res, at least. As far as skills go, this is where it starts to get interesting. He comes naturally with Pursuit and Charge, which makes him already very likely to strike more than twice in a round of combat, and with his good Power, this is a good thing! And to top it all off, he'll eventually gain Continue! What does that all mean? Well, he'll have all three multi-attack skills in his possession after promoting, and that's just freakin' awesome (at least for me...). Speaking of, his Promotion is probably what makes him pass from competent to actually very good: not only does he gain Continue like I mentioned, but he'll also obtain one of the best gains in the whole series, including an awesome +6 Speed and a overkill 9 Skill. That's just epic! So yeah, kinda like Lachesis, his promotion is what makes him great, though in not as much of a degree as the former, so there's that. To sum it off, he's good enough when unpromoted, but is suddenly pretty epic when he reaches Level 20, but it is a bit annoying to make him go there. So with all that said, I'll rate him a 7.5/10 with Negative bias, because just like with Midayle, I haven't exactly got the best experiences with him...
  20. I like units that have very good growth rates for the most part. Personallity comes as a close second for me. Yeah, I haven't got much to say other than that. :/
  21. ...Again? Yup, for certainly not the first time in this series, Holyn got both positive and negative votes, which brings him to an average of 5.47/10, based on 17 votes this time around! I'm sorry for the slight delay, but it looks like it's finally time to tackle the Princess of Nodion and Eldigan's husband(?), Lachesis! Class: Princess (Level 2) Holy Blood: Minor Hezul Personal Skills: Charisma Class Skills: Pursuit (after promotion) Stats: 26 HP (60%) 6 Strength (50%) 8 Magic (5%) 9 Skill (10%) 13 Speed (20%) 7 Defense (20%) 9 Resistance (10%) 5 Luck (40%) My thoughts: Despite her solid bases for her level, Lachesis is still very weak by the time she joins you. She starts off as a Princess, which is pretty much only an unmounted Troubadour. Let's just say that this is not ideal. To makes matters seemingly worse, her only good growths are Power and Luck, which everything else is either average or very subpar. And, since she lacks a horse at the beginning, it will be very hard for her to keep up with your forces, which makes her Personal Skill, Charisma (+10hit/avoid to all allies within 3 spaces), a bit worthless... However. What if I said that she is actually great despite all of this? Sure, like Azel, it might make a boog while for her to kick off, but there's only one thing that makes her 100% redeemable: her GODLY promotion! Yes, she promotes to arguably the best class in the entire game, the Master Knight. This class has pretty much everything going for it: great gains, has a horse included, it can wield pretty much any weapon (as the name suggests) and it even nabs you the best skill of all, Pursuit! Suddenly, with this awesome promotion, Lachesis is suddenly one of your best units, capable of mastering the weapon triangle with ease and also keeping up with your forces at all times, AND making Charisma finally useful! I mean, what more could you want? A A-Rank in Light Magic? Still, despite all of this, she still has a very slow start, but since her promotion is everything in this case, I'll be super generous and give her a 8/10, with bias included because she is a sweet character! :D I am ready to see my opinion getting purged as always! ;)
