  1. My opinion of SoV has only risen since I first played it. Having taken a deeper look at the story, my opinion of it has improved more than it had at first, and having finally watched the Rise of the Deliverance DLC I can say that it's fantastic too. The only thing my opinion hasn't changed on is some of the gameplay elements that were retained from Gaiden, but I think that's a given.
  2. There's multiple maps in DW8XL that do this. Sometimes they're revealed via events (like in Wen Qin and Guanqiu Jian's Rebellion), and sometimes the player has to find them (like in Shu's Invasion of Chengdu and Wei's Battle of Xiaopei). Koei also occasionally cuts off parts of maps to make smaller ones for certain stages. Hiding parts of the map on the minimap is no different from several FE games hiding parts of the maps behind doors until you unlock them. Those places being hid on the minimap doesn't make them non-existent, it just means you can't access them until they're revealed, same as other FE games. Also, Hyrule Warriors not doing something is completely irrelevant to whether or not FE Warriors will do it.
  3. Link in HW is a good example of what I would have like to seen FE Warriors do with Marth; not a drastically different design, but enough small changes and details added that it doesn't look like the same bland design we've been getting for twenty years while still retaining the "feel" of the outfit, so to speak.
  4. Marth's design is very...Marth-y. I kinda wish they had done more to make it stand out from every other Marth design, even if was just recoloring some parts of his outfit instead of just having the same blue-gold-red color scheme. Anna's design is cute, and as vague as it is her design does look like a travelling merchant's. I actually really like the beret, but I'll admit that I like character designs that have headwear that doesn't cover the whole head.
  5. On topic: Hmm, I wonder if this means maybe, since Awakening and Fates are in, Risen and/or Invaders will show up alongside their respective bad guy reps or in the alternate modes. Off topic: That map seems weirdly...small, to me. Is it perhaps a colosseum mode map? It would fit that you could only use one character in it. I can see it.
  6. Cordelia definitely seems like more of a crowd-clearer given her power attacks. Otherwise, her moveset's not all that interesting, but I'll admit I'm biased against her. Oboro would be great, but if she is coming it'll be after the reveal of Takumi and Camilla the archer and the rider. Yep. Hence why I wholeheartedly believe Donnel won't be getting in. Memes =/= actual popularity.
  7. Any of the minor villains like Lombard/Langobalt and Sandima, especially from the pre-GBA era. Maybe even Iago and Hanz given how unpopular those two mustache-twirlers are. I certainly wasn't expecting a playable character to make the bottom of the list.
  8. I don't think I've ever experienced FE burnout. The closest I think I came to burnout was needing to take a break from Fates after finally beating Conquest because of Conquest's late game BS, and that was brief before I went back to Revelation. It probably helps that my FE playthroughs tend to be fairly spaced out, usually a week or two between finishing one and starting another unless the TRPG bug bites me.
  9. Honestly, I'm mostly okay with this. While I ended up enjoying it, I understand that a lot of people found DAN's story to be pretty weak overall, and can understand that they're not doing a story mode because of it. Plus, if I'm being honest, I wouldn't mind seeing SEES and the Phantom Thieves interact more without a story weighing it down a la DAN'S free dance mode; especially SEES, who barely get any interactions amongst themselves.
  10. I had Blastoise on my X team, but he was pretty much used for Surf and didn't see much Mega Evolution. There's so little Mega Evolution in the main story that even keeping one Mega Evolution-capable Pokemon can be too much. So no, it wasn't necessarily for me to use at all.
  11. Digital, mostly for the sake of convenience. I live in a small place that isn't particularly conductive to having a ton of game cases around, I don't live near any game stores, and unless it's really bad I generally don't trade in games I buy anyway.
  12. I'm guessing Takumi and Camilla or Sully and Virion. The former two because they're two of the most popular Fates characters and I think Fates is going to be the next thing given new reveals for, and the later two because if they do go Awakening those two are paired up early on in Awakening and Warriors takes place early in SD, Awakening and Fates. My super-unlikely to actually be it picks are Minerva and Gordin.
  13. That's worldwide sales, I was talking first-week Japanese sales. And honestly, given how off their estimations for P5's sales are (it's missing half a million units compared to actual sales data, for reference), I'm not inclined to believe even their ballpark estimates. "Remember, if you're a loner, that means you're a creepy, violent weirdo who secretly wants to destroy the world!" -The moral of Ultimax's P4 side. I wish I was kidding.
  14. Obligatory "We never saw it cominnnnnnnnnnnnng!" Seriously, though, I was not expecting this at all. I legitimately though this was a prank until I saw the gameplay PVs. A small part of me still can't believe it, and I'm wondering if I'll wake up soon. I'll probably buy these anyway because I am a huge sucker for Atlus, but still. However, everything will be forgiven if: Koromaru is playable in DMN. The PQ2 crossover is with Persona 2. I am a little disappointed that they're not using the DAN designs that were already in P5 for DSN. People bought PQ, yes, but DAN sold terribly. It didn't even crack 100,000 units sold in its first week in Japan. And now they're making two? It's almost like Atlus didn't learn their lesson from the last string of mediocre-to-poor-selling games they pushed out to cash in on a hot property. And this is a bad thing why?
  15. I'm certainly excited for it. It'll be nice to have some concrete data on Western fan opinion on characters. I fully expect Wei to completely dominate the polls, but Wei bias is in full effect for me. RE: The HK stream gameplay, if I'm being honest, proper lock-on is something the series has sorely needed for ages and I'm glad to see it being carried over from HW. The hype train continues unabated for me!
  16. This took way more time and finangling in MS Paint than it probably should have. Honorable mentions to the following: Explanations to come later.
  17. T or M, probably. I have a lot of M-rated games because so many of the series I enjoy (DMC, SMT/Persona, Bayonetta, Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, etc.) are mostly rated M overall. If we're going on percentages, I'd guess 40% M, 35% T and 25% E.
  18. Oh boy, the Eight Years of Persona 4 are starting all over again. In all seriousness, I'm probably not going to watch it. While I adore P5, I'm getting tired of Atlus milking Persona like the proverbial golden cow it is. The P4 game spin-offs I'm a little more lenient to because they actually had stories of their own, even if those stories were bad (lookin' at you, Ultimax), but the animes are just boring retreads of the story of the games they're adapting with arbitrary changes that often hurt the story more than help it (disclaimer: this only applies to the P4 and Golden animes, I've never seen the P3 movies). Sorry I'm being a bit negative here, but that's honestly how I feel about the whole thing. Also, I'm expecting fanbase salt when the anime gives Joker a civvie name that isn't Akira Kurusu.
  19. I generally just turn off battle animations but not skip the enemy phase entirely. I like to know what's going on in real-time.
  20. One of the pdfs in the link Elieson provided (specifically, the Feb. 1, 2017 presentation in the Presentation Material pdf) gives sales numbers that includes digital sales, putting Awakening at 1.9 million units sold worldwide and Fates at 1.6 million units sold worldwide.
  21. Mind Zero: It got a lot of flak for being a rip-off of Persona 4, some of which isn't entirely undeserved but a lot of which is over-exaggerated by people who never played the game. The game's battle system is way more interesting and more customizable than Persona 4's (...mostly because you could actually customize all your characters' skill sets in-depth, instead of just the main character), and the summons in Mind Zero function more like actual summons. The only real downside is that the game's story ends with no real resolution, but that's mostly because they were setting up for a sequel that never came. Resident Evil 6: Minus the rancid pile of CoD-ripoff garbage that is Chris's campaign, RE6 is no worse than competent. Leon and Helena's campaign actually succeeds at being tense and dare I say scary at times, Sherry and Jake's campaign is more akin to 4 and 5 and works in that regard, and I am 100% biased towards Ada so I love her campaign regardless. Helena, especially, I hope shows back up in future games/spin-offs. Did Rome Total War go through a popularity drop recently? Last I checked, people still loved the original, and I'd certainly count myself among those that do if it has suffered a popularity drop (I actually just beat a Rome long campaign as the Brutii). Rome II I have more issues with mostly because the devs yet again felt the need to include a poorly-balanced mechanic to screw you over when you get too powerful because they couldn't figure out any other way to balance the endgame and the only plus I'd give the civil war over Realm Divide is that you can actually prevent the civil war but it's still a solid entry regardless post-Emperor Edition. This too. FFXIII gets a lot of undeserved crap despite having a solid story and characters and a fun if slightly unpolished battle system and I wholeheartedly agree that both XIII-2 and Lightning Returns are terrible, for different reasons.
  22. This, pretty much. Fire Emblem looks like a major IP in a void, but when compared with other Nintendo series it's clear FE's more middle of the road. It has sales more comparable to Kirby (whose last mainline entries sold around 1.8 and 1.4 million worldwide, respectively, compared to Awakening's 1.9 million and Fates' 1.6 million) than Zelda (BoTW sold about 5 million units between the Wii U and the Switch), Mario (Super Mario Maker sold about 6 million units worldwide between the Wii U and 3DS) or Pokemon (Sun & Moon sold 15.6 million copies worldwide). Stuff like Heroes and Warriors and Cipher and TMS might be a sign that Nintendo is trying to gradually elevate FE to a higher standing among its IPs, but FE is nowhere near the top three.
  23. 8/10, Yu Yu Hakusho's animation aged pretty well and the music's great too. Kawaita Sekebi from the forbidden season the Toei Yu-Gi-Oh! anime.
  24. This is entirely Heroes, but: Wolt,, Rutger, Echidna, Leif, Nanna, Finn, Ayra, Larcei, Lewyn, Isadora, Micaiah, Pelleas, Nailah, Elincia, Geoffrey, Lucia, Conrad, Maris/Malice, Marisha, and Feena. Jugdral just needs more representation in general, really.
  25. I like that other people hate: Amelia and Ewan gameplay-wise, Donnel gameplay-wise, Mozu gameplay-wise, Serra as Book Bro mentioned, Clive (I appreciate his development over the course of Echoes' plot even if he is a subpar unit), Micaiah (even though these days she's more divisive than hated), Tsubaki (because he has some actual depth, and he's always turned out good for me), Hayato (because he actually has reasons to act like he does, unlike Ricken) I hate that other people like: Silas (a creepy, judgmental jerk that the game shills at every turn), Oliver (the joke was never funny), Nah (her Laurent and Inigo supports make her irredeemable to me, but most of her romantic supports involve her being an obnoxious brat regardless), Odin (but not Awakening Owain, who isn't just his gimmick like Odin is), Ike (both PoR and RD, for different reasons), Cordelia (both sides of her personality are just thoroughly unlikable to me), Sain (a shallow womanizer) I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting.
