  1. "Also, Mr. Sleep ass, I don't know who you are. I have a name. I saw your house. I don't know what was in it, why, anything about you other than the fact that I'd probably pummel you if it didn't seem that the fates had pushed us together for using sleep magic on me, or anything of the sort."

"Is your pride hurt that a lowly Alchemist managed to sedate you, O Thyme Mint Warrior of the Light and servant of the Gods? Can't say I won't enjoy your attempt but very well, I'll entertain you." Rufus imagined a bottle of whiskey and took a sip. "My name is Rufus Cromwell, if you haven't been paying attention, I'm a physician at a small village in Xing. Though I'm not a native. I came from a country beyond the desert called Amestris where I was born and raised. I moved to Xing to study Alkahestry which included the "dreaded" sleep magic.I never went back. I don't particularly see how this helps with whatever that thing asked us to do, but I hope my story has pleased you well milady."

A proud braggart wizard, an overly heroic soldier, a compliant gunner, a confused ninja who doesn't seem too bright and a guy who barely speaks a word beyond his own name, what delightful company,Fennel seems decent enough at least, for now anyway Rufus thought.

  2. "I see." Rufus said, more confused than before. Both physical plains? Rufus has read a lot of books and two physical plains is not something he ever read outside of fiction. Then again, it would seem that his world is a lot more primitive than the other's so that should be taken to consideration. The thing doesn't seem much for conversation, so Rufus will have to do some research on his own.

Turning to the silver shinobi, Rufus introduced himself "Genji, right? In case you missed my name before, it's Rufus. It said that I was an alchemist, but I'm more accurately an Alkahest, though saying I am Alchemist isn't necessarily wrong either."

  3. Where are we? How did we get here? Since when was I holding this ball? Who's this guy? And who is this 'they' they just spoke about? Out of all those question Rufus was surprised that the only thing the mage was concerned about is the new guy. Am I the only idiot here?

"Alright, I'm grateful for... whatever you just did, but I don't believe we've met before. I'd introduce myself first but you seem to already know who I am so, who are you?" And while we're on the topic, what is this place?

  4. So, like Mother 3? Mind you, it's not really a bad ending, just kind of unfortunate that everything dies no matter which way you slice it. I also think Ena was going with a constant foe, along the lines of time lords or daleks. I'm not going with Dr. Who, but I'll think of something to fill that void, especially because a knowingly omnipotent deity is guiding our group of 6 people.

Sure. I'm not familiar with many fictional worlds, but everybody dying sounds like a sufficiently bad ending to me.

  5. If we're still going with the previous theme, I would propose starting in a medium where a bad ending is unpreventable, where we tried to 'prevent' said ending and failed, resulting in the ending happening anyway. After which we'll travel to different places and prevent bad endings from happening. Might be a bit cliche though, but the story would be a lot better when we know what's at stake.

If you're going for the surprise factor, you can do it on the second or third world when everything seems great and the players feel invincible. Though anyone that's remotely familiar with the setting might spot the twist from a mile away. I'd give a few examples, but nothing really comes to mid at the moment.

  6. Rolling itself isn't much of an issue as there are sites out there that allow for linkable, trackable, rolls to ensure people don't cheat.

Doesn't stop people from re-rolling until they get a more desirable result. But eh, not much I can say about that.

I would think that removing stats would remove character diversity (or make it harder to implement) so I would be against it. I thought of a system where rolls don't determine the exact damage an attack deals but rather how the shot hits (Roll-Avoid<10, Half-hit 0.5x damage; Roll-Avoid>30, Critical 1.5x damage) But I haven't really tested the practicality of this system.

  7. Part of the reason I'm introducing the cooldown is to try and make turns come up more frequently. Granted, I can't make people post, but that's a simple fact of life we'll have to deal with.

That's true, but what I was saying was that part of the reason for the long delay is the fact that the mod has to roll the result of each move before the next move can be done. If possible, I would like for the new system to eliminate this need. In a perfect world, the players themselves can roll the result of their own move, but well...

As much as I want to take over, I want input from everyone else before I do. To improve communication, we need to use another avenue, preferably Discord. However, I absolutely need to check if I can use it, first.

Edit: The device I have can't use it, but I'll see if anything else I have can.

I've never used Discord before but I'll manage if we do end up using it.

  8. Just putting this out there to whoever ends up being in charge that I wouldn't mind helping direct the RP by handling the more tedious things or things you don't really like doing. I like the idea behind the RP and I think it has the potential to be something great, so yeah.

A few feedback from yours truly:

While the battle system currently in place might work in an actual RPG, I feel like it made the battles in this RP feel unnecessarily long and it took forever to get to someone's turn, mostly because besides having to wait for 5 other people to post, we also have to wait for the mod also posting in between each of them. Considering that we come from different timezones, I don't think that the current system is ideal for this RP.

An issue in the current RP is lack of communication with half of the players in the Skype group and the other half in an SF PM. While the problems we faced from this arrangement has been relatively minor so far, I can see the problems expanding as the story gets deeper. Like one half wanting to do things some way and the other wanting to do it another way. The result will leave people feeling alienated due to not being able to properly express their opinion. If not on skype, I feel like we need a platform where all of us can communicate properly with each other.

That's all I got for today, if anyone has anything else to add, do share.

  9. I just hope they won't do like they did with Origins (skipping multiparts of the game that could've been interesting to watch).

18 episodes spanning 6 gens? That's 3 per gen, likely they're skipping something, a lot of things

  10. i am not mafia

    ##vote random player

did you specifically get a result of mafia?

    yes

Looking at the voyeur, roleblock claim, I'm inclined to think that the claim is genuine to a certain degree, meaning that Gaius is either voyeur or lookout. I'm kind of leaning to the claim being real though, since a Lookout!Gaius making a gambit like this will look bad when YOLO flips town. That is unless donald has a very useful role and they don't want him lynched.

I'd vote for yolo, but I don't want to accidentally hammer. So, can we have votals?
