I don’t want to see any seasonals at all forever but if I had to choose, it would be Palla, Est, and Minerva to join Catria in seasonalhood.

The latter part of this is a sentiment I fully endorse! I don't mind seasonal alts, but I definitely am all for the entirety of the Whitewings getting more representation. Surely this has to happen sometime?

What I would like to see for winter is Palla and Est since Catria got an alt earlier this year plus they got the Christmas colors down and I want them to be flying units riding reindeer and to go along with them...

Please not at the same time though! I only have so many orbs, so my hope there would be that the banner would be generous enough to grant me both...!

  2. I would likely vote for some combination of Minerva, Tiki, Est, and possibly Mia. Since we're assuming the split vote issue is fixed, I feel both Tiki and Mia would stand a better chance of at least breaking the top 10. I am very fond of the other Whitewings as well, Est just happens to be my favorite, and she traditionally gets the least amount of votes, so I'm inclined to give her extra support.

PALLA:Best Whitewing got so shafted. They could branch into her draco/falco promotions to give her swords lances or axes

Yeah, although I feel that eventually they're going to have to give her a personal weapon. I just recently got her to 5*+10, so I'm really hoping they do!

Minerva remembering the good old days where she was a pegasus knight. Nostalgic Dragoon, I would call her... I would love that, actually :D

wait... can't be dragoon if she's riding a flying horse...

Minerva as a pegasus knight would be great! This has been something I've wanted for a long time.

  3. I finally managed to clear the Abyssal Tiki! I was busy doing some other things when she first came out, but decided to take her to task today. To do so, I reluctantly switched my Summoner Support from Brave Lucina to Tiki (my support had been set to Lucina since the beginning, hence the reluctance, but Tiki is one of my favorite characters as well, and I have a feeling that I'll enjoy having it on her for future Abyssal battles). I also switched Tiki's Ally Support from her adult summer version to PA Azura. With all these shifts, Tiki pretty much emerged as the ultimate tank, cutting down huge swaths of enemies foolish enough to challenge her.

The best part was the ending, where the Superior Tiki emerged victorious!

Congrats Tiki! You have matured well.

Very nice! That's quite an impressive clear! Tiki had some monstrous stats, so being able to defeat her in one shot, on a defensive tile, is quite a feat!

Welp. RIP phone. My phone battery is dead or something. Won't charge at all so I might have to order a new battery that'll take a month because the phone model itself is rare in Europe. Might just get a new phone instead. I tried other devices at home. Lenovo tablet that doesn't have heroes in it's app store despite being android. Tried apk, but the download stops near the end before completing and I get a error message. Amazon Fire doesn't have playstore so heroes won't work on it. I guess I can try my grandma's iPad

Sorry to hear that. You could also give one of the emulation methods for the computer a go. If you're interested, there's a thread on here that's titled "How to play FEH on a PC," or something like that. I could find it for you, if you'd like.

There is also premium skills to consider, which usually take orbs to get. I don't doubt that T21 is possible for F2P, but it's a humongous investment that would be out of reach for many players. Additionally, if crowns become a spendable resource for a highly valued feature, the number of people wanting to get there will increase, driving up the cost of what is required to get crowns.

Absolutely, it's a huge investment. But, basically, I was just making the slight point that some of us F2P players have made it to T21 at least once! There are, at least, a few of us, although we're small in number!

75 orbs a week is actually very near the average outside of the anniversary months. It's 300 orbs per 28 days, so a over a typical month it's 310-330ish orbs which matches up pretty well to the historical trend. Of course I'd love to see it a bit higher. :P

I probably communicated this poorly, I don't propose any such system having any link to the arena crowns. It's just that arena crowns led me to contemplate how much I dislike doing arena, and then wander off-topic to proposing a completely different system for orb (and other resource) distribution in general. To be clear, *everyone* would fall under this system. Nothing to do with arena or arena crowns.

I stand corrected on the first point! While 75 orbs a week is still a little on the high side, it's really not a ridiculous statement, like I initially thought.

As to the second point, my understanding was that you intended that to be based on Arena crowns. This is, after all, a thread based on what those crowns could be used for. But I'm glad you clarified! That does make sense. Even with that, though, I still want everyone to clear the content. Some of the content is at least hard for most people, like Infernal variations on LHBs or BHBs. I don't like the idea of people being able to skip that. But I would have no problem with, say, daily or monthly quests being fulfilled through other means.

  6. I doubt that they will be able to be used for anything that improves in-game performance, and I definitely think they should steer clear of that. Instead, I could see them implementing something that could alter the aesthetics of the game -- like reskins of accessories or something like that. While accessories are fun, they don't affect gameplay, and so I think that would be an acceptable addition for most people.

Some time ago, Tier 21 was added to Arena and with it, the Arena Crown to be awarded to those summoners who busted their wallets butts to get to the tippy top of the player base.

I'm F2P, and I reached T21 the first week it was implemented. But, fair enough, T21 is primarily for the whales.

    6 hours ago, Humanoid said:

That said, I'd definitely prefer to have more freedom to skip content I don't enjoy. My thoughts were to have something like a weekly cap of say, 75 F2P orbs but you can do any combination of content you like to get them, all content provides a repeatable source of orbs. Want to get all 75 from Tap Battle? Go right ahead. All from Arena? Also valid.

75 F2P orbs per week? What game are you playing? That's not even remotely near what we get (although, with that said, I do get what you're getting at).

In any case, honestly, I would hate this. You already have the option to skip content you don't enjoy -- you just don't get the rewards for that. This aspect, in part, levels the game between whales and F2P. Currently, everyone can only get the rewards for any event by actually doing the event. Everyone has to go through the same grind and complete the same sort of content in order to get the rewards for that content. But, with your suggestion, whales would get an exemption from that process, and this actually gives whales an exemption from playing certain aspects of the game. I think this would be a pretty divisive mechanic.

    3 hours ago, Lewyn said:

Tier 21 is whale tier, or super invested FTP (only spend orbs on merges for arena core, dedicated solely to that)

The F2P method is to spend feathers on the Arena core, not orbs. It's much easier to promote, say, Sheena to 5*+10 than it is to summon 11 copies of a 5* unit.

This would be good. I’d be all for that. Them only inventing serpent tomes to stick one on Mergan and then forget about them makes me angry.

While we’re at it, can we also give Palla a personal ladyblade as a better ruby with some additional effects I’m not qualified to speculate about? I just want her weapon to be as elegant as herself instead of that butt-ugly oversized abomination because I actually do use her with a ruby instead of having swapped to a killer or a wo dao.

I'd like for her to get a personal weapon as well! Lady Blade sounds good for her, although I would like it to be better than just a glorified gem weapon. I actually just finished getting her to 5*+10 this week with the aid of HM grinding, so I'd really enjoy seeing her get something nice. My Palla is actually still using her native Ruby Sword at the moment, as I feel like the moment I promote someone to give her something better, they're going to come out and announce her personal weapon. In fact, that's probably what they're waiting for. They're probably just sitting around with a fully developed weapon for her, watching my account for the right moment, just to laugh as the 20k feathers I'm going to invest in her weapon becomes meaningless!

Cool, I've already got Aether on her, just tossed her to QR Seal (unless you recommend using it as her B-Skill) and just gave her SB~ After a couple test runs, loving Aether proc'ing so much faster now~

Glad you like it! It's a fun set on the manaketes. As for where to put QR on her, really, either the SS or the B-passive are good options, so go with whichever you prefer. One advantage to using the QR seal is that it frees up her B-passive to run Guard, which helps her out against common threats in the Arena, like Bold Fighter Zelgius. Being able to block out large burst damage from specials really helps her survivability, especially in the upper echelons. Hence this is a particularly good option if she's in your core Arena team, or if you were thinking of adding her to it.

The advantage to using QR as the B-passive, however, is that it frees up her SS slot to run something that will bolster her defenses, such as Distant or Close Def. You might find this more useful in some of the more difficult PvE content, where the enemies have vastly inflated stats.

Yeah, he's one of my more used units and I would like to +10 him at some point, but I'm in no real rush to do it. While I think Steady Breath could help Nowi since she's never had a good A skill and she's already +2. It probably would be more beneficial than just having +2 more stats on Ike~

I'd say give it to Nowi or some other manakete you're fond of. Nowi would perform quite well for you with Steady Breath, Quick Riposte, & Aether. If Nowi is doubled, Aether will activate on her follow-up riposte, so she potentially could be activating Aether on every engagement. This results in both excellent damage and excellent sustain. Used right, she can power through several rounds of combat without really taking damage, since Aether would be healing her back up. I'm very fond of this build on my +10 adult Tiki, and I frequently prioritize using similarly built manaketes for modes that use brigades (e.g., Rival Domains, etc.).

Oh, I don't mind running healers at all, but my worry lies within elemental coverage. Will I have enough counters to fill the week? I need to be sure I have enough bonus units to deal with the annoyance, and while I have healers for all elements, I might not have enough. Who knows how prevalent she will become, but, with the highest BST yet, I have a feeling she will be quite prominent. Also, even with TA, sometimes I worry that slow units will get whooped by doubles and specials, even with advantage, but maybe I'm just paranoid.

Will be resorting to TA3, I guess. I should inherit some of these, even while wondering if it is the be best pick, also Roys are limited sometimes. Regardless, I should probably prepare some extra units in advance. Guess my pitybreaker Hawkeye is actually going to be used after all, never thought I'd ever build him up.

In addition to what DehNutCase said, you can also hand out some Firesweep weapons. While we're still waiting on a Firesweep Axe, the Firesweep Lance is in the 4* pool. The principle is the same as with healers, of course, and you'd probably want to pair them with a dancer so that you could adequately kite her. If you wanted a really budget build, you could even use a 4* Firesweep Lance or Sword with Poison Strike, and just deal chip damage and kite until stronger units can finally finish her off. It's at least an option to consider.

Tagging @Astellius and @Lewyn for this.

On the subject of this week's Rival Domains HM grinding, 5* Eliwood and BH Roy with Pass work too. They do need specific things depending on their merges and stats, but otherwise, they function the same as Camus and Finn. Both of them need to deter Saber from attacking them which is easier with Roy since he needs at least 35 total speed to prevent a speed buffed Saber from doubling him. Eliwood has to meet the same requirement which is a bit harder since he has 30 neutral speed and his lower defense could cause Saber to attack him instead of kid Tiki attacking him.

Also, if you're like me and and have a +10 merged Eliwood, he ends up taking too little damage from kid Tiki for Wings of Mercy 3 to work. =HP, -Res Eliwood at +10 is 2 damage shy from having 50% HP as kid Tiki does 20 damage to him to his 43 HP. For me, giving him L&D1 worked out since he'd take 3 more damage from her dropping him to 20/43 HP. I'm not sure how this would work for an unmerged Eliwood, but hey, Camus and Finn can sit out having maxed out their HM while Eliwood and Roy can gain HM and help grind it. Eliwood is damn sure going to pay back the feathers he needed to get to +10. I'm not about to let this dude sit on his ass having spent 150 Divine Dew for Blazing Durandal, +220k feathers (eleven 5* promotions where some were 3*), a summoned 5* Cordelia for Galeforce, almost "wasting" a Cordelia, and a 5* Hawkeye, my first 5* of this file, for Death Blow 3 on him way back then only for Klein to arrive in droves. Sure, I love him as one of my first proper lords in Fire Emblem, but no, he doesn't get a pass -- ha! -- because of that.

RIP two of my 4* Cordelias. I have a friend with a merged Cordelia, so it kind of deters me from wanting to build her as I'd rather work on someone else my friends don't have even though I like her, she's a fantastic unit, and offers Galeforce which I don't really have anyone I want to give to at the moment, but it's still good on units like Cherche, Elincia, promoted Ephraim, etc., so using her for Pass isn't ideal. Fir gives Glacies and can be a good unit if built up as well. If only I had more 4* Gaiuses. Pass seal, when? Watch it be the next Tempest Trials.

Thanks! Although my Camus has already maxed out his HM, I'm continuing to use him, since I'm actually pretty short on Pass fodder. My only Gaius went towards giving Camus Pass, and I'd like to sit on what few Firs and Cordelias I have. Who knows when I'll have to give someone else Pass! The funny thing is that the skill is actually in reasonable demand for these HM farms -- it used to be virtually useless!

I really do like these HM farms. I'm very close to getting Palla to +10, and this is speeding up the process quite a bit. I need about 8k more feathers to achieve that, although I still need to replace her weapon and give her a proper skill set. Still, this is good progress!

Do you have a 5* Camus, Finn, or some other lance cavalry with at least 33 speed and who has enough SP for Pass 2, a ranged and dancer with Wings of Mercy, or two ranged units with Wings of Mercy? Finn needs to have Steel Lance equipped as well. If you have a Faye and/or legendary Lucina, then you could use them for your ranged units since they come with Wings of Mercy and all they need to do is attack the fort, so -Atk on them or whatever doesn't matter.

Thanks for this! The autobattle for this method just worked immediately for me, so I'll definitely be doing some good HM grinding this week. For some other weeks, I couldn't get the autobattle methods to work, so I'm glad this one is good to go.

I would like to see Kris in a new Archanae banner. Imagine the salt. For real though, he's like the most important FE character not in Heroes. Isn't he considered the Hero of Shadow while Marth is considered the Hero of Light? That puts him on a higher pedestal than anyone in FE12 other than Marth.

Yeah, I would like to see Kris get in too. They're a holdout lord/main character, and they do deserve to get in.

  12. I've been around since launch week, and have been consistently on ever since. I didn't have a tablet at the time, so I could only play on emulators. I had pretty terrible luck at the beginning, with no 5* units. Even grabbing a 4* unit was something of a rarity. Really, I should've rerolled, but meh, I didn't. Est was a star unit for me for awhile, since I had no 5* units. Roy was my first 5* unit, and I still have him, although I don't really use him so often. Est, however, has blossomed into a 5*+10. What's even better is that the first one I pulled (+Spd/-Def) serves as the base!

I also remember the Emulator Apocalypse with, if I remember correctly, the 1.8 ver. update. Suddenly, none of the emulators worked anymore. Fortunately for me, someone discovered a version of Bluestacks that still could run it!

From launch week, but not necessarily launch day. Or more accurately, I did try playing on launch day, but didn't have a satisfactory solution for accessing the game, so I'm pretty sure my account now is not from that day. I didn't have a smartphone back then, and the first few days were mostly occupied trying various emulators, and it'd have been a new account every time. Leapdroid (now discontinued) worked, sort of, and eventually managed to get through and link an account before being hit by the dreaded 803-3001 error. For the first few months I pretty much had to live with it, using an additional app to reset the config whenever the error happened.

The only 5* unit I got was an off-focus Maria. Obviously knowing what I do now, I would have re-rolled, but I didn't really understand the game back then so I just rolled with it.

Ah, yes, I remember the 803-3001 days... Glad I don't have to deal with that anymore!

  13. @Zeo I definitely don't mind being tagged, so feel free to do so. I also can sympathize with the plight of having a lot of premium unused fodder, as I tend to sit on mine rather than use them. As a general remark on some of the fodder, I think Warding Breath would best be used on a dragon, and I find Flashing Blade to generally be an inferior option to other A-passives. I just merge my Mias, rather than save any for Flashing Blade fodder that I know I'm not going to use.

I'll spoiler this since it was kinda long.

    Spoiler

Now, onto the units. In my view, +Atk/-Def Delthea is a better nature than +Atk/-Spd, and +Atk/-HP Micaiah is preferable to +Spd/-HP.

Eirika -- I think you should keep your DC fodder for units that you really like and are going to use, and that really doesn't sound like that's the case here, especially given she's been a benchwarmer for you for awhile. Also, Silvia is now available in the 4* pool, so swords now have ready access to the red equivalent of Berkut's Lance, so there's that to consider. So, rather than DC, I'd give her a more common skill like Fury or Life & Death. Right now, I'm running Fury on mine, and she does well. Her mixed bulk is decent, but it's also in the range where she wouldn't suffer for running LnD. If you have her run Fury, I think Chill Spd would be a good option for her B-slot, since she's often used as a support unit, but otherwise it's pretty open. With LnD, Desperation is an obvious choice for sustain.

Spring Alfonse -- I think the Wo Dao axe would be good on him. He actually should have decent Spd, if you invest in it. With a Spd refine, that pushes him up to 36 Spd. Add on more Spd from an A-passive like Fury, and then add on the cav buffs, and he'll hit 45+ Spd. That would distinguish him from Frederick, who's slow and tanky.

Deirdre -- Actually, Spd is not a bad bane for her. Her speed was already mediocre, so she was already likely to be doubled by most fast mages anyway. Mine is a +Res/-Def variant, and she's been a great mage tank for me. I find that to be her best role, since, as you say, she's incapable of taking on even the blue dragons that run around all over the place in AA, messing up the carpet and such. Mirror Stance or DD are her best options for the A-passive, but solid budget options are Res+3 or Atk+3. Silvia is in the 4* pool now, so now Mirror Stance is available as fodder.

Lon'qu -- Obviously he has the stat line for a Desperation swordsman. With the changes to the AA scoring, I find it's useful to have at least 2-3 swordsmen with each blessing, so there's an argument for going the standard route. If you want something different, however, you could consider going for a quad Brave build (LnD + Desperation). He'd have 47 Atk and 41 Spd, and his seal could be used to boost either his attack or speed. Pretty good!

Lissa -- She's got great mixed bulk, even if her attack is lowish. I think Sturdy Blow would be nice on her, as it would patch up her Atk, while also boosting her Def. She'd be near impervious to lances on the offensive.

Bold Fighter -- I don't see the need to turn either of them into CC tanks, especially when you don't have the fodder for it, the fodder for it is extremely rare, and neither of them are in the front of the line for it, should it even appear in the first place. Basically, this sounds to me like that shouldn't be much of a consideration. Now, I personally never regret giving premium fodder to my favorites, so my recommendation would be to give it to Lyn, for that reason. It would fix her speed, and she'd be great with it. I'd also recommend giving her an Owl tome, since she wants to be next to someone so that she can activate her bond skill anyway.

Fallen Celica -- Hard choice. My own Fallen Celica is -Atk/+Res, so I feel your pain here. I'll say that an Atk bane isn't unbearable -- with Fury, it sits at an acceptable 51. One point in favor of the -Atk/+Def variant is that you didn't list any fast sword tanks before. With Fury, her base Def would sit at 36, which is 40 at full health. In my view, the +Atk/-Spd one sort of starts to look like an inferior Soleil to me. Honestly, even with bad natures, she still is a decent swordsman.

Hope that input helps, and maybe gives you some things to consider!

No, I said this isn't the place to discuss that. I adhere to that. I'm fine talking about the Gamepress tier list, but not here, because this isn't the proper place for such a discussion.

  15. 1 hour ago, Ice Dragon said:

That doesn't change the fact that Henry is an objectively good tank. Raigh can be made to be "usable". Henry can be made to be "good". That's a huge difference.

I'm still skeptical about Gamepress's tier list because they aren't particularly transparent about how they tier units, and they seem to completely miss the mark on less commonly used units where it sometimes just feels like they're just guessing.

Seriously? This isn't the place to air out your complaints with a tier list. This is the QnA thread. Let's just limit it to that, not anything more.

  16. 17 minutes ago, Ice Dragon said:

Raigh is at the bottom due to having a stat spread that is too balanced. Henry is in the middle because he's actually a decent tank when invested in.

Different tier lists result in different rankings, I suppose. Gamepress puts him in the bottom 4 red mages, and I'd personally consider him to be down somewhere near the bottom as well. But one nice feature about this game is that every character can be built to where they can be useful, should one want to put sufficient investment into them.
