Fates had reclasses that had unique outfits and are mentioned even in supports like Odin, Takumi and Midori

The school phase is an evolution of My Castle from Fates, but with actual plot significance and a few more mechanics like skill training on top. Most of the other activities like farming, dining and tea time originated from My Castle.

I don't think putting characters into classes they don't otherwise fit it to level a specific skill is a good idea. That is what lessons and other after battle mechanics are for. If you want to level someone's specific skill you can do so without risking their effective contribution in battles.

So he is related to Lysithea? She has a "Crest of Charon" which sounds exactly like what someone called "Death Knight" would also have. There is no other reason for the skill to be there except if he is later recruitable.
