  1. I've been waiting a really long time for this hack. Thank you for releasing the patch. I'm playing the game on hard mode and I really like that Wolt's no longer terrible, and he's even good at assisting with roy-training.
  2. If you don't like frustratingly difficult, it will most likely not be your thing. I don't kid around when I say this hack is intentionally annoying as balls. If you read the readme, it explains what that password is for. Should be under the section "Special Prize".
  3. Transplanting doesn't exist in Fire Emblem games. It would ruin people's willing suspension of belief if such a thing were used. Course I could always try and make the game as unserious as it could be.
  4. Y'know what? Maybe instead of giving players the opportunity to kill Roy, I should've made a hack where you kill Lyn or Micaiah. My hack would be so popular, no matter how hard. =X
  5. Correction. I'm catering to the masses who are willing to put themselves through bullshit level design and extremely difficult unit formations just to kill Roy. :P
  6. If you want, I'll add you on skype and set you up with recording equipment.
  7. Good luck... It's worth noting that if you beat the submission, there's a special prize at the end.
  8. To give you some perspective, part 2 of the submission is about on par with chapter 7 hard mode of FE6. Are you sure you want to relive that trauma?
  9. The Corruption of Roy - Version 1.3c [spoiler=Screenshots:] The hack takes place one year after the events of Fire Emblem 6: The Sealed Sword, and focuses on Roy's wife, Sophia (One of the six possible pairings for Roy) who finds herself unconscious in a cell. Moments later, the familiar thief Cath shows up, releases her from her cell and tells her that Roy has invaded Ostia and imprisoned it's people. Skeptical, Sophia follows Cath around to free the prisoners and see the truth for herself. This is my submission to Ragefest 3. It is hard. Extremely hard. possibly one of the hardest hacks ever submitted to the contest, both in it's levels of unfair bullshit, and in genuine challenge. If you lack a stubborn mind, you will not get far. For those of you who are stubborn, be careful: I've play tested this over 100 times to ensure that every moment is unpleasant. No moment of reprise will be given to you. Every mistake will be met with severe consequences. You might even get yourself into an impossible situation. If you feel exhausted, start to hallucinate, or develop a strong urge to murder me, consider taking a break. If the pain becomes too much, the folder containing the patch also contains a walkthrough to help ease the suffering. Although this hack was submitted to Ragefest, it's story is fairly serious. There are moments of humor, but they are mostly out of context with the story. Future Plans: The following list isn't finalized. Not everything on it is guarenteed to make it into the next update of the patch, if I even make an update. - Add more humor - Remove all glitches - Improve level design of the second half - Improve dialogue so it feels less stilted - Finish the special prize earned at the end of the submission - Make a "Non-Ragefest" version that removes all trial & error - Make a video of this hack, with commentary - Remove story plot holes - Improve the ending - Add more recruitment dialogues - Extra Mode: Essentially the same chapter, story-wise, but with an entirely new map, enemies are much stronger and have different placements, and all of your characters' stats from the previous playthrough will carry over. You will also be able to promote your units. Current Glitches/Things that need fixing: - Resetting the emulator or turning it off resets certain event IDs. This is less problematic since version 1.3 - A certain chest in part 2, if opened by a thief, gives the same result as if opened by a player. Not so much a glitch as something I overlooked. - Most likely a flaw of the engine: Spawn points, if blocked by an enemy, will still spawn an enemy if the spawn point is out of the player's vision. Credits: Cedar Nyx - For Shigeid's Portrait and for feedback and playtesting Ephraim225 - For feedback and playtesting. Obviam - For the FEditor Adv Tool and his Fire Emblem hacking documents Nintenlord - For the Event Assembler, Tiled Map Inserter, and Graphics Editor Tools Archibald - For making Elibean Nights, which was somewhat of an inspiration for this hack Fire Emblem Hacking Community - For compilating together and creating Nightmare and it's modules Nintendo & Intelligent Systems - For making the Fire Emblem series Various other people - for the Advanced Palette Editor and Sappy program Sophia from Fire Emblem 6 - For being damn hot and being one of the more interesting characters in the game
  10. I've decided who will LP my Ragefest submission. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHn9z1mEvY8
  11. Well, let's look on the bright side. At least you'll get to hear the awesome new part 2 music in your next recording. Just promise not to voice act please, and don't make references to me, especially the whole "MONEY IS IMPORTANT" meme. Anyways, with that out of the way, I have some news regarding my Ragefest submission. Because it's taking AstraLunaSol too long to make progress on my submission, I decided to ask him to let someone else do it instead. He was a good sport about it and agreed. Now I just need to find someone to put in his place that can LP the submission in a reasonable amount of time, and isn't terrible at commentary.
  12. Well, if you want to discuss this further, let's take it to the PMs.
  13. Don't worry about the voice acting. Like I said before, I generally prefer that people don't voice act the characters. It's nothing against you or anything. I just don't find voice acting interesting when it comes to LPs.
  14. Sorry. Just a bit worried that this situation will become hostile. But uh... yeah. Bladey, regardless of what kind of voice you have, I'd prefer it if you avoided voice acting.
  15. Nope. This is the player phase music for part 2. And uh... since I'm concerned, I know the way he said it sounded mean, but Seph1212 doesn't mean any harm from what he said. Well, if he did, I hope you don't take too much offense from it.
  16. If you wanna do that, I'm not going to stop you, but it's not neccesary. I'm a little sad that the wtf epic music doesn't play during part 2, but if anyone plays the latest version, they'll hear it, and I can always link to it. I dunno how I'd feel about voice acting anyway. I don't mind when MageKnight404 does it, but it's not exactly something I consider ideal for a commentator.
  17. Crap. I just realized 1.3c is the one with the changed music. God damnit. Oh well. I'll live.
  18. 1.3? 1.3a? Or 1.3b? 1.3b did a lot of musical fixes, added two new songs, and replaced an old one. Er... Does the title screen have different music than usual?
  19. Aye. Actually, what version of the hack did you play? This is relevant to the music thing.
  20. I dunno about that. While I'm proud of the original compositions I made for my submission, I think Klokinator had some very good choices for his. The player phase music is especially catchy.
  21. Oh? What award would that be? Also, you can vote me for multiple awards. No rule says you can't.
  22. If it's hearable, that's acceptable. I don't mind screaming and raging, so long as you don't force it.
  23. I think a lot of us are anxious for him to upload the remaining parts, but uploading the remainder of my submission isn't one of his top priorities right now. Sorry, but I'd feel pretty bad trying to pressure him to finish up. Oh? So you have the game audio and commentary audio separate? Then... so long as you edit the audio ratios well enough and get them synced, it should sound fine. Fair enough. What about desync? Any issues with that? Sounds good to me. I'm actually pretty impressed. It sounds like you put considerable effort into this recording. Honestly, the only thing I'm worried about now is the commentary quality.
  24. Start editing whenever you feel like it, but don't upload until after AstraLunaSol finishes. Also, did you manage to make the game audio low enough so you're not overpowered by it? How's the video quality? I'm really curious.
