  1. Technically, wouldn't Frost, Malice, Dice, Robert, and Belf be available for this list?

I know a lot of Archanea figures are missing, but that's still something that might be worth considering.

All of them are already listed in the Mystery of the Emblem section, if that's what you mean.

  2. My headcanon is...

Corrin doesn't wear shoes because they were confined to the Northern Fortress and thus never needed footwear. By the time they were ready to leave they were too accustomed to being barefoot to even consider wearing shoes, and so Xander and Gunter let them wear shoeless armor.

Azura did usually wear shoes in the past, but she removed them whenever she danced. At some point she realized she felt more comfortable being barefoot, and so she decided to go shoeless all the time. (Personally I think the idea of Mikoto not allowing Azura to wear shoes, despite treating her as her daughter, is silly.)

They're both willing to wear shoes if the situation requires it* (Azura more so than Corrin), but they'll still get rid of them as soon as they can.

    *Gameplay and story segregation aside

  3. Asugi's supports with Hisame offer more insight into Fates's ninja lore. How does this compare to actual ninja?

Asugi: Yes, I've been studying up on the finer points of tactics and strategy. And no, I have no intention of attending more of those brunches. Tasty as those cream-filled éclairs may be.

Hisame: But why? You could get far more out of these studies if you came.

Asugi: Just a rule of thumb.

Hisame: What kind of rule, exactly?

Asugi: Ninja work best alone or in small groups. There's a reason for that. The more conspicuous they are, the less suited they'll be to their assignments. Assassination, intelligence gathering...that stuff requires anonymity, stealth. Can't go flashing our mugs around everywhere, you know?

Hisame: I see your point. However, you are not exactly an unknown element of the army.

Asugi: Sure. Those who serve the royals directly rarely escape notice entirely. But there's something else to consider. A ninja walks with death. The earliest part of our training conditions us to accept this fact. And as such, we take pains to ensure that when it comes...nothing is disturbed.

Hisame: What? And how is this related to our meetings?

Asugi: One of the precautions we take is to avoid forming too many personal bonds. Meeting with so many people every week will, obviously, make that difficult. Don't be upset. It's a part of our code. Has been for generations.

  4. Whether we'll get the Bonds DLC or not depends on how well the rest of Fates's DLC sold and how well Awakening's Scramble pack sold. If they did do well then we'll probably get them, and if they didn't then we probably won't.

No one except Nintendo knows this data so it is impossible for us to tell for sure if they will be localized or not, but personally I think they will be released eventually.

  5. [spoiler=Really?]So the game really lets you marry your sister? After they went through all the trouble with making the Hoshido siblings not be related to you?

It reminds me of the Avatar x Imoen romance in Baldur's Gate.

...The quote was referring to Lilith (whom Corrin can't marry), not Azura.

  6. That's not strictly true, and it's something I wish the game touched on more.

Anankos is a usurper; the throne would only pass down to his kids if he managed to hold onto his power. But since he was overthrown, it could actually go to either Corrin or back to Azura (Lilith never comes out with being his daughter, so she can't claim the throne). Corrin's his son (giving him a claim through that) and the guy who overthrew him (giving him a claim through that, since "you conquered it you own" it is the norm of Fire Emblem); but Azura's the original Vallite heir, born of the original royal family (giving her a claim in the "lost queen returns" way--think Aragon from Lord of the Rings).

And this is all before we get into the "cousins" thing. Azura should technically come first in the line of succession since she was born first (she has to be, his dad killed hers before meeting his mom), but depending on how strong Corrin's blood claim to the throne is, things could get a lot murkier. It depends on whether Arete married into the royal family (in which case Mikoto and Corrin have no blood ties to the original Vallite royalty, and his claim is much weaker) or was born into the royal family (in which case Mikoto was born into it as well, so she and Corrin also have the ties, and his claim is stronger). The game seems to lean towards the latter, since Mikoto's able to use Dragon's Vein in Heirs of Fate and Arete was apparently able to use the pendant.

Tl;dr, there should actually be a really big fuss about the Vallite succession since it's so tangled up in right by blood, right by conquest, and right by age. Even though Azura passes the throne off to him, she still has a very strong claim (some might say stronger than his) which can be used to stir up trouble in the future.

Unless you have them marry each other, which makes everything moot since they both get the throne. Which actually was a real-world solution to super-messy inheritance crises.

The description for Revelation chapter 25 states that Mikoto "was originally Vallite royalty". She and Arete both have dragon vein icons when fought as well.

I find it unlikely that Valla's citizens would acknowledge Anankos as an "official" ruler on account of being an insane dragon that killed the previous king and mostly everyone else. Even if he did count, no one besides SOL and Lilith knows that Anankos is Corrin's father, and the ending narration for Hidden Truths mentions that Corrin never finds out. If Mikoto is in fact a princess, then Corrin would already be next in line for the throne after Azura anyway (and her children if she has any).

The right by conquest probably wouldn't apply when the actual heir is still around, and age usually doesn't matter when it comes to succession.

Either way Azura is the real heir, but she hands the throne over to Corrin because they're already in the line of succession and because she thinks they would make a better ruler than she would. In the event that Corrin dies without having any children then the throne would go back to her.

  7. It would have been funny to see Ninja Shigure but thanks for answering.

You could always reclass him into a ninja.

It's from his JPN sibling supports. He refers to Shiro and Siegbert as "elder brothers", but everyone else as "younger brother/sister".

    Neat. The more you know...

Shiro and Siegbert being the eldest makes sense because as kings Ryoma and Xander would be expected to produce heirs quickly. If one assumes that Shigure is Corrin's son, then it also makes sense that he would be older than the rest of the kids, but younger than Shiro and Siegbert, because Corrin and Azura would be preoccupied reconstructing Valla following Anankos's defeat and they would be too busy to produce a heir immediately. Though that wouldn't explain why he's the third oldest if he isn't Valla's heir (maybe Azura just really wanted children?), nor why Kana is always the youngest...

  8. For Shiro and Siegbert is when it gets really weird because the two are supposed to be the heir of their father's legendary blade however it is only the eldest child who has the right to wield.

I don't think that's said anywhere. Otherwise, Leo and Takumi wouldn't be able to use their legendary weapons.

No, when it comes to Shiro and Siegbert, Shigure is the younger son.

He will be the older brother of all the other children, however.

I believe this as well... but wait, if Shigure's everyone else's older brother, shouldn't he be Saizo the Sixth instead of Asugi? Hmm...

Saizo: Behold our first-born son! He shall be-

Azura: His name will be Shigure!

    Saizo: ...

    Azura: ...

    Saizo: ...

Azura: Sorry... I just really like the name...

Saizo: Fine. The next one shall be Saizo the Sixth!

Azura: What do you mean, next one?

Either way you shouldn't put much thought into it, because the children are essentially bonuses that probably won't be born until after the war. Though if they were born normally (that is, in regard to their physical ages), then I think their age order would be:

Shiro and Siegbert > Shigure > Everyone else > Midori and Percy > Kana

I was having that thought when trying to write a story where Shigure and Dwyer are brothers. For me, Shigure is barely older by like four minutes if they are twins at least and is a year older at least than Dwyer is if they aren't twins.

They can't be twins because they have different birthdays.

  9. At this point, we might be getting into just Fates having bad writing. No one ever seems has consequences for their actions; its all written off as "Oh it's all fine, everyone knows Garon was evil and has accepted that their king was killed by their own children!"

Obviously, that's just one example of the concept.

Considering that Garon was fond of murdering anyone that even remotely opposes him (or even people that don't), he was probably unpopular and therefore wouldn't be missed much, even without the "actually a monster" thing.

This explanation makes no sense. You're effectively saying that Azura just took a guess that Corrin wouldn't be able to get everyone to work together, so they joined an invasion instead.

Keep in mind that they had the perfect opportunity to talk to everyone - the Hoshidan siblings included - after they so unjustly slaughtered Zola, but Corrin spent the evening making jokes instead. I simply don't understand why you'd argue that they had no choice but to follow Garon's orders instead of, I don't know, working together with their siblings to put an end to him without invading an innocent nation.

How exactly would Corrin get them to work together? In Izumo, either Corrin would say "Hey, our king is actually a monster, so let us take over your country so we can expose him, okay?" to the Hoshidans, or they could tell the Nohrians that Garon is a monster and consequently get ignored, exiled, or executed for treason in the process. Corrin could join Hoshido to fight the invasion, but that would require betraying the Nohrian royals, which Corrin doesn't want to do.

Following Garon's orders obviously wasn't the only option, but it was the option that was most likely to stop Garon without betraying Corrin's Nohrian siblings.

It's not understandable that Azura just withholds such vital information, especially if they're going to have a chance at stopping Anankos after the war when both countries are weakened and Anankos still has Sumeragi running around with the power to blow up entire cities.

No one can actually get to Valla and stop Anankos even if they wanted to, since the passageway in the Bottomless Canyon opens and closes every few decades (in-game it closes around chapters 15-18). Whether or not this applies to Anankos's minions or not is unclear, but if it does it means that he has to wait several more decades before he can attempt another invasion. I know that you like the "Sumeragi can blow up cities" argument, but he has to use Ganglari to do so, and Sumeragi is hardly invincible since he's forced to retreat after being defeated by Ryoma (if the RNG favors him) or Corrin in chapter 5.

Thank you to each and everyone of you for the contribution to make this list as accurate as possible only 1 character remains and that is Nina, I hope you can lend me your strength one more time on this one.

Does "frequently fantasizes men together" count as a cliché?

  10. The metaphor you used is similar to what Garon is doing, invading something for the lolz.

Besides the whole "secretly possessed into serving Anankos" thing, I think that Garon is probably invading Hoshido under the justification that Nohr is suffering from a famine and that he wants to take Hoshido's resources by force. By this reasoning, he's less "evil" and more "willing to do anything to benefit Nohr" which makes his children going along with him easier to swallow, even if they don't agree with his methods.

    That's a good point actually.

While I still think that that wasn't a good idea, the invasion was going happen regardless, so was she trying to make the best of a bas situation?

Azura couldn't do anything to stop the invasion, so she went along with it because it gave her and Corrin the best opportunity to expose Garon as a monster and to convince the Nohrian royals to oppose him.

  11. I15saL.gif

Garon was going to invade Hoshido with or without Corrin and Azura, and trying to fight Garon directly wouldn't accomplish anything except getting them killed (unless they have the Shadow Yato, which requires the cooperation of their brothers). Azura knows that Garon is working for Anankos and wants to stop him as quickly as possible by any means necessary, even if it means invading Hoshido. Going along with the invasion was the only reasonable way to stop him, with the "bonus" of being able to work against him and minimize the damage he does.

She doesn't bring anyone to Valla or tell them about Anankos because they can't do anything to stop him unless Nohr and Hoshido work together, which is unlikely unless Corrin refuses to choose a side. They can't even get to Valla past the game's halfway point, so Azura would rather let everyone live in blissful ignorance and not burden them with her problems that they can't do anything about (so it's not the "right" choice, but is understandable given her circumstances). By the end of Birthright and Conquest the winning nation is probably strong enough to repel any Vallite invasion, and Anankos's plan to have Nohr and Hoshido destroy each other for him has failed.

    Guys, what is a fantasm?

Hey, I already mentioned on the first page that "fantasm" is another word for "ghost".

  12. He is just a lucky boy like Chrom with Female Robin. It's an accident after all! It reminds me of a common thing which happens in a lot of animes where a male character looks at a female character bathing or changing her clothes by accident.

Not sure why they changed the back/lower back thing but it doesn't seem to matter much since Azura said that he was around for a bit and then he told her that she's beautiful after Azura says nothing about the lower back/back comment so he probably saw other things.

At least Corrin and Azura didn't fall in love because they saw each other naked...

But Corrin is sweet so I'll try not to blame him too much for being distracted by such things.

No wonder why it's a cliché to think french men are perverted. I double checked just so we can compare a little

Grr.

There we go but man are the french translators perverted.

From what I can tell, aside from Corrin seeing Azura's butt instead of her back (and the translators being perverted) the conversation is largely the same. Hooray for comparing different translations. How did we start talking about this again?

Read the Hot Spring DLC conversation between Severa and Female Morgan.

Morgan actually gives a good reason as to why Tsunderes are popular.

For the lazy, here's said conversation:

Morgan: Aw, we can take it, Severa. Trust me! We all love you! So stop worrying.

Severa: Oh, brother. You could at least TRY to make it believable, you know.

Morgan: It's the truth! Besides, don't you know? Girls like you are all the rage these days! Especially with the boys... *wink*

    Severa: What?! ...R-really?

Morgan: Sure! Tough as nails on the outside, with an ooey, gooey damsel-in-distress core... Always cross and short-tempered, making every smile shine like a rare gem... Apparently that's what the guys are into as of late. Who knew?!

Severa: That sounds like torture to me. Not that I'm complaining, I suppose...

Morgan: It's like how a sunny day after a long stretch of rain is super refreshing! Ooh, or how a nice, hot meal tastes even better when you're really, really hungry!

Severa: Hmm. I guess that kinda makes sen— ...Wait a minute. You're comparing me to floods and starvation?! Are you mocking me?!

Morgan: No, not at all! And even if you don't believe me about the others, at least you've got me?

  13. I mean I played with the French version and Corrin said he saw " le bas du dos" translating to the down of the back. When asking my mother who is a biological pharmacist she said it was the beginning of the butt.

Basically that small line you see from your butt is the small glimpse of what Corrin saw.

    Ah. The English version said:

Corrin: I can't stop apologizing, Azura. I was coming here to talk to you, and... I didn't see anything, I swear!

Azura: Nothing at all? I had a feeling someone was around for a bit before you spoke up...

Corrin: Well... OK, maybe I saw your back. But only for a moment!

    Azura: ...

Corrin: You're a beautiful woman, Azura! I couldn't look away.

Azura: But peeping on someone who is bathing? That's just...ugh. I'm a bit upset, but I'll forgive you this one time.

Perhaps the French localizers just took "back" in the dirtiest possible way.

Dang, I told myself I would STOP talking about Azura's butt

  14. Isn't "fantasm" another word for "ghost"? Which is strange since you don't include any of the girls revived by Anankos...

    Azura - The Perfect Waifu

The funny thing is how he married her in REV, Mr.Corrin was nicely admiring Azura's butt before proposing and what does Azura do ? Not even get angry, not find it too weird and just says she forgives him even though it wasn't an accident.

No, no, you're confusing their S-support for Kozaki's birthday picture of her.

Azura's posterior aside, Corrin actually did stumble upon her by accident and he only saw her back and only for a second, get it right. She probably would have been less forgiving if she wasn't already in love with him. Though oddly enough Corrin/Azura's supports are some of the few that don't include a marriage proposal...

Basically I agree with everything Abvora, TrueEm, and Thunderstar said, so I don't have anything to add on that front.

  15. I guess this leads to another question I have that may be unsolvable (SPOILERS):

The boss music in Revelation is also hers, but she doesn't mention actually singing it. Does that mean she's not singing it or are we to assume she just does so based on the previous two paths? I mean, Revelation is the only path where Azura properly survives, and this would be her most powerful song in it. God, this game has such clunky writing.

I personally think that Azura is singing (as her song was specifically designed to weaken Anankos, and he's basically a god so they need all the help they can get), but she doesn't have to use as much power as in Birthright and Conquest because the Yato is at full strength.

  16. I think that everyone has artwork; we just haven't seen it for most characters yet. If I recall, the only characters who have artwork are:

    -The royals

    -Felicia

    -Jakob

    -Takumi's retainers

    -Leo's retainers

Our best shot is if Fates ever gets an artbook. Since Fates is quite popular and there's probably plenty of concept art lying around, it makes sense for one to be made eventually. Maybe if there's more DLC being made it will be announced after that (which I think happened with Awakening's artbook)? Though if one is made, hopefully it won't take four years for it to be localized.

  17. Site info:

Because Turtonator lives on volcanoes, feeding on sulfur and other materials found near volcanic craters, its shell has a layer of explosive material—mostly sulfur. When something strikes this Pokémon, sparks fly from the horns on its shell, igniting an explosion!

In areas around volcanic craters, this Pokémon camouflages itself as a rock and waits for prey. At the moment when its prey steps onto the back of its shell, Turtonator strikes its shell with its own tail, triggering an explosion!

The explosive blasts triggered from Turtonator’s back are released through an orifice located on the middle front of the Pokémon’s body. This is Turtonator’s weak point. Attacks landing on its stomach will cause it a great deal of damage.

Shell Trap is a move that only Turtonator is able to learn. With this move, the Pokémon can set a trap at the beginning of the turn, and if Turtonator is hit by an opponent’s physical attack during that turn, Shell Trap triggers an explosion that will deal much greater damage to the opponent.
