  1. Jaffar can get in a similar position though if he inherits poison strike. I think its more of the fact that IS just hates healers in FE:H :(
  2. Lol good question... +SPD is probably slightly better than +ATK but -HP is worse than -RES. I'm leaning towards +SPD/-HP but I'd wait for others to give their input as well. Vantage is best with units that can counter from either space such as Nowi or Adult Tiki. Otherwise, I personally say range because ranged units are the ones that always seem to sneak up on you, but some say non-ranged.
  3. I thought so too. It was pointed out, however, that her attack is so low she can't actually win fights against most units.
  4. I actually don't have a problem with these quests. Yes they're difficult but that's the point, Anna even says so at the bottom. I think this is much better than releasing quests that anyone could do without thought over and over again. I am still very upset they got rid of the daily log in orbs...those should have stayed on forever... I also think IS is trying to reward players for training all kinds of units, not just your 5*s. I bet I'm the only one who will be able to do the horse one and not the infantry one. xD
  5. I could use a second opinion... I made a new account for my main that is going to be a lot more conservative with orbs than my current main (used all my orbs, 8 5*s and only one that I really want). The only characters I really wanted from this pull was Jaffar and Ninian so I decided to reroll till I got both in under 50 orbs (~10 rolls). Finally got them in only 5 rolls which is great but I don't have like any units. I've got: Oboro Gordin Niles Gordin sounds like an obvious choice but I feel like having more than one nocolor is a bad idea and I am definitely using Jaffar and Ninian. So him and Niles look like bad ideas. So between Oboro, all the units I can get for free (daily special maps, next grand hero) and the ones I start with any ideas on what units I should use until a new focus comes out with more characters that I want?
  6. Weird stuff...I wouldn't think they would add anymore to help new players with all the rerolling going on.
  7. Yea, and the fact is with his speed he's going to get doubled anyways by most attackers. So his best use is to be thrown in there with a brave weapon to annihilate units before they can hit him once. He's like a melee glass cannon. https://fireemblem.gamepress.gg/fire-emblem-heroes-iv-calculator
  8. Literally all of those are good 5*s. None of them are so bad that you would regret having them. Eldigan is AMAZING I would highly recommend using him in your team comp. Ninian is also pretty good. The other 5*s are a toss up. So maybe a green unit since you don't have any green 5*s?
  9. He has the best skills of any dagger unit from a nonbias standpoint. By that I mean Kagero is obviously better because 90% of the meta in arena is infantry so he kills everything. If horses and fliers become more popular, however, Jaffar will end up being the best. Unfortunately they decided to make his stats really low (upsetting), so after the skill inherit he would be best used as food for a better dagger unit...I would never do that because Jaffar is awesome but that would be the smartest move from a competitive standpoint. His stats are well focused (41 speed holy crap), but the stat total is rather low. Also note his stats aren't low compared to nocolor units, just low overall for a focus 5*.
  10. HIs overall stats are pretty high. However, his stats are in the wrong areas. He has a very high attack but a very low speed meaning he won't double anyone anytime soon. I'd say he's going to be a lot better if you can inherit a brave sword on him and get him to attack twice with his high attack stat. Actually, most of his skills are pretty bad so he's going to get a lot better in the skill inherit update. Probably best to wait for the skill inherit to see what skills we can actually put on Seliph and go from there. I actually quite dislike Seliph's character design. He looks a bit unnatural IMO. That being said, a lot of people love him so maybe its just me. xD
  11. Oh I almost forgot, I would love to see Commander Greil. I don't think its too unreasonable, as you did fight against him in the prologue.
  12. Ursla didn't get Excalibur, which I'm a little upset with. Hopefully Lloyd will have Light Brand. Magic damage from a sword would be awesome. I don't know whether it would be a 2rng or 1rng weapon but it should have the "counter from any range" and "deals magic damage" attributes for sure.
  13. Lloyd! Sorry, there's a lot of amazing stuff but that's all I can say for now. Okay, that and... what about hero feathers???
  14. Imagine if you get her on your first roll I'm actually trying to make a third account to replace my first (main). I like Ephraim in my main but wasted too many orbs getting random 5*s that I don't care about so now I'm out of orbs. I think it'd be better to reroll now and have this account be my savings account and have my 2nd account be a little more ambitious. So right now, I'd like to get Jaffar + Ninian in the first 40 orbs and then save the rest for: + Sacred Stones (writing this now makes me realize how few characters I love in Sacred Stones...) - Cormag - Colm - Myrrh + FE7 - Sain - Pent - Harken - Athos/Renault if they become available + Radiant Dawn / Path of Radiance (Not even my favorite game... but so many good characters) - Micaiah - Sothe (why does everyone hate him?) - Black Knight (duh) - Reyson - Geoffrey - Janaff - Volke - Soren - Mia - Aran - Meg! (underappreciated) On a side note, anyone else notice their favorite fire emblem games do not correspond at all with how many characters you like from them? I find this very odd... Would love to have Lyon, see a lot of people saying that. I think he'd be a grand hero and appear in the campaign at some point since he's technically a villain.
  15. To anyones knowledge, is there a way to tell if a 5* focus will end up in (3/4)* nonfocus in the future? For example, Ephraim did, but Eirika didn't. I would think that would be because Ephraim is better so they wanted him to stay rare. However, Reinhardt is now available as a 4* even though Olwen is still 5* only, despite her being worse in every way.
  16. Yes but its hard to tell. During grand hero battles someone will let you know which slot goes where. Otherwise, I'm sure you could find it for all the arena maps...really wish they had reposition though.
  17. In terms of arena, healers are never good. She is the best horse healer by far, and fights for the best healer overall spot, but that doesn't make her good. I do think she belongs in (A) rank if those two get there. Otherwise they should be moved to (B) down with her. Besides, these tiers are going to be useless in a couple days when skill inherit comes out.
  18. This is how I think of it. As though there are more than one pool. Pool 1 is the color. Green/Blue/Red/Grey are all pools. From inside Pool 1 you have a statistical chance to go into the 5* Focus, 5*, 4*, or 3* Pool 2 Inside Pool 2, all the odds are equivilant so in Ninian's case it would just be her at 100% chance. This is how I would program it, but there are many different ways to do it. I believe there was a thread earlier talking about this and the general consensus is no one really knows.
  19. This is the first phone game where I thought, "maybe I'd like to spend money on this". I love Fire Emblem but haven't played one since the Wii's Radiant Dawn (don't have a 3DS). I'm really hoping I can resist the urge for the rest of my life, however. That's why I'm so upset with Jaffar. Its clear they made him very difficult to get on purpose because they knew players would spend countless orbs trying to get him. And if they didn't, well, they'd keep buying orbs. I mean, really, 2 healers and the worst archer ever in one focus with Jaffar? Surprised you haven't gotten Ninian. I'd say keep trying with the free orbs you'll be getting in the next 2 1/2 weeks. Only open blues, you should still be able to get her without spending money if Nintendo finds a new way to give us orbs (RIP Launch Celebration quests). I don't think its fair to say "Like the units you've got". It's like in the regular fire emblem games where you love the units you use but can't remember a thing about the others. Pulling Fates/Awakening heroes generally doesn't really do anything for me.
  20. This game falls into the category of "Make everything broken so the broken things can beat the other broken things". I think it works fairly well. It is all about counters though. Having a unit with good skills/stats means nothing - they need to be able to counter everything and not get countered.
  21. Eh, not really this thread is calling for a lot of responses, not just an answer. Torn between Eirika and Roy. Have to go with Eirika because I've actually played Sacred Stones. And she's a fun unit to use in FE:H. Watching her appear to visually take green units back to her lair and slaughter them is great.
  22. How so? (unless you buff it by not rolling 5*s) you have a 3% chance to get into the focus pool. If the focus pool for a blue unit consists only of one unit, that's where it ends. In Jaffar's case, however, it goes into the uncolored focus pool and consists of 4 units so its much less than 3% overall to get Jaffar. Or is this not how its calculated? I really like my 5* M!Robin. The -hp sounds great on most mages but I would argue its a bad thing for M!Robin because his benefit is that he can actually tank quite a bit for a mage. F!Corrin and Nowi are very similar, I don't know which one is better. I can tell you my 5* Nowi has been benched by my M!Robin, however. Your current situation of 5*s is very good, however. Whether F!Robin can or can't kill Linde, I think it's a bad idea compared to a brave horse/flier because she is going to be pretty much useless the rest of the fight. Abel wouldn't take any damage.
  23. Yea Abel works great. He can also help out against Takumi and other glass cannons. And a horse unit is always nice to have against Kagero. Don't be too optimistic you'll get Ephraim since he is in with a lot of other 5*s. Same with Lyn, assume its not going to happen. The one exception is if you have a lot of time to kill rerolling because I did it for leo and the odds for every 5 reds was still less than 1% chance. Throw everything you've got at Ninian (blue) now because she will be very hard to get after the focus is over and she's very easy now (3%, no other competitors so its true 3%). If you want Jaffar he's pretty hard to get right now as well...(3%, but 3 competitors so divide that by 4) Perhaps early in the game you'd be fine with getting 4*s from all the different colors but the fact is this will naturally happen as you go for focus so in the long run its not worth it. You'll be a lot happier if you save your orbs and only spend them when theres a focus character you want. You'll be able to get at least 1 character from each focus every month or so. On my main account I've got 8 5*s. On my second account I have 4 and yet I like my 2nd account a lot more right now. The only character I actually love on my main is Ephraim, the others I could care less about.
