There is already throwing knife characters in DW and ninjas in SW. They can definitely make thieves/assassins work in this game

Honestly i don't mind most of the Elibe designs... Alot of them are quite decent with some stylistic liberties. Like Jaffar's is quite good, this one however is sketchy.. He looks like he's a morph

Goddamn is that Lloyd art is rough... his hands are all janked up, especially in the damaged pose... It's not so much because the previous art is better or anything. Just the proportions are off in some respect and his ability to create depth with the limbs is lost. so he comes off very awkward looking.. The eyes im ok with, but the arm proportions are almost as bad as Anna's arms But that's just my perspective being an Art graduate...

yeah i like that feature in fates. and GBA link arena was literally pure nostalgia. it kept me and my friends constantly going through Fe7 and getting lucky rolls on favorite characters. Heck i had a Canas sweep my friends whole team cuz he got rng blessed and i fed him a ton of body rings. (wasted all my gold just for that canas on the secret shop). I've had many goofy runs and great times. i feel like we have shifted so far from GBA link arena in terms of pvp and honestly they could take a page or two out of that. make the pvp more simplistic so it's not crazy overpowered. This whole rescue warp etc shenanigans just isn't really fun and i get where you guys are coming from. I just hope for the good old days of link arena with the damn cable hooked on each others GBAs man it was glorious.

I think a co-op style tower of valni would be really cool. Maybe keep the permadeath on to keep it interesting, choose to retreat if you lose a unit and your ally has to go it alone or retreat as well.

Ah so you're all about efficiency and speed etc. I can dig it, I agree with most of your points in that regard. I can see Saber just being useful the whole game with no downtime. Same with Alm

Man I said that last one was my last comment but I'll say one more time. To me personally the shadow dragon remake was so boring in presentation and whatnot I literally couldn't finish it and sold it. Only fire emblem game I've ever done that too. That whole game is forgettable idk who that green archer even is?

Anyways last comment on this thread. The game needed a makeover. Without that it wouldn't of sold, too dated were the character designs. If you think otherwise well agree to disagree

Well obviously IS didn't feel they were memorable enough lol. Jesse's look does have to do with his character. Because he's a ladies man it makes him offputting but after seeing more of his story he's actually quite likable

Yeah people just don't like change Like honestly, even if i was emotionally invested in Gaiden lets be real Alot of those characters were dated as fuck palette swaps that needed an overhaul. Now if it was like Binding Blade and they changed Roy to have blue hair or something then yeah I'd be like wtf and I'd be with them on their little crusade of don't change mah characters design But Roy and Marth are something that's Iconic for the series, to change that is ridiculous... in Gaiden however, the characters that are relatively important keep those features... Why is no one mentioning Rudolf? he looks COMPLETELY different? People like to pick and choose whats OK based on taste, I'm basing it completely on what needed to be done If Echoes came out with a bunch of designs based off the original palette swap mess, people as a whole would be FURIOUS. Mostly because it would look like this game was an afterthought, i honestly wouldn't give two shits about it if everything was just a touch up of Gaiden. Now i don't knock Gaiden for using said palette swaps. Back in the day creative liberties on the damn old ass Nintendos were almost non-existant. But you do have to expect to some degree they aren't gonna base these characters they're TRYING to give life to with this mess. Jesse is actually a likable character now, Gray is literally the best, Deen has inspiration from berserk (my opinion). That's possible but yeah I'm not doing character design at IS with my bachelor's in illustration (I wish I was making characters and redesigning old ones) If he ended up looking like Vrai did in echoes honestly he would be memorable in a completely different way. A kind of jokey meme way, he's like super edgelord now instead which is interesting to say the least. I picked him for a portrait because besides atlas he's the most radical redesign Mostly the reason I gravitate towards Deen as he is currently is because he reminds me of Gattsu from Berserk. One of my all time favorite characters.

As someone who loved tons of action movies from the 90s (my generation) I don't think I'm biased. Vrai is the only one who escaped a haircut. Yeah and if Jesse had a haircut that covered his forehead you'd be saying the same thing. Like honestly i don't really care for that hairstyle but it doesn't mean i can't like a character who has one. But when it's that over emphasised it borders on caricature. It's hard to take a character seriously whose supposed to be no joke when they look like a joke.

Even the villagers are basically palette swaps with slightly different hair and colors That being said despite them getting changes Tobin's hair is still the same just brown instead of purple, as does Clive's etc To be completely honest, most people who had a flat top just straight up lost that stupid Arnold Schwarzenegger haircut that was so popular in the 90s
