  1. I say this as someone who hasn't played the game, and is only going off of what i've heard: Even if Ch.6 was shoehorned in, I do feel that it's alright, given that it takes place after the main story (and thus, doesn't affect it), and also that Ch.6 does provide some very much needed... Fire Emblem barely does post-game content in the first place so i'm happy with what we got. Who knows, Echoes' post-game may turn out to be my favorite FE post-game. I would ask some questions regarding Pikappa93's review but quoting individual sections of a post is a pain when using a mobile device (or maybe it's just my phone being bad). I'll do it tomorow.
  2. Bent swords are a usual occurrence with FE Amiibo from what I hear. My Ike and Roy Amiibos have bent swords. I don't remember about my Robin tho.
  3. The Amiibos aren't really a priority for me but they do look nice and i'll get them eventually. But why are the swords always bent? Also, you can see a coffee in the background, so yeah, GameXplain probably did receive a review copy. We're like, a month away from the English release anyways. They probably just wanted to show what the Amiibos looked like and then they'll eventually show what they actually do. Derrick is probably gonna be the one who reviews the game.
  4. While I'm not a big fan of the Jugdral games, I kinda want to see that whole base castle thing return. In fact, I liked what FE4 did with the whole "conquering multiple castles thing". They should bring that back. That being said, don't make the maps Bionis-sized. There's a chapter in FE7-Hector's Tale, where the point of the map is to conquer three castles so they can definitely bring this back for smaller maps (smaller as in, small compared to Genealogy's maps) Some other things I would like to see: Main Lord (or one of them at least, if there is to be multiple ones) is not of noble blood. At all. Just like Ike. Adding to that point, this non-noble Lord isn't a good citizen. Like, he's a pirate or something that gets caught up in whatever is going on. It'd be interesting to see the war from the perspective of someone who is used to doing bad things such as stealing. Trinity of Magic, I miss you. Unisex Classes. Fates got it so close but then they had to ruin it with DLC and some gender-exclusive weapons. The enemy army should consist of both genders. Thankfully, Echoes is already taking some steps to do this, as there are generic enemy female mages and paladins. If there is to be an Avatar, it should be like Cross from Xenoblade X. Cross is one of the best examples of an Avatar because literally everything about him/her is decided by you. There is no pre-determined personality like Kris, Robin and Corrin had. Cross' personality is your personality, and this is the type of Avatar I would like to see in FE games. Bring back the Summoner Class. That's my favorite.
  5. That could be a reason but Tharja never really cared about all that Grimleal stuff. In fact, none of the Plegians you recruit do. Not even Gangrel and Aversa, though the latter was part of the Grimleal until she found out the truth about her past.
  6. So Tharja is definitly a yandere then, going by that definition. And then Camilla is somewhat of a yandere, and Faye isn't one at all. Regarding those two things, i feel that Faye just doesn't realize the things she says and does may have a negative impact. While she doesn't care that her parents want her to write about herself, she also shows that she still cares about them. And then, there's her general disregard for the situation during Alm and Celica's argument. There, I feel that Faye was trying to cheer Alm up. Like, maybe it's just me, but i detected a genuine attempt to cheer him up. The problem there is that Faye doesn't realize that what she said can come off as rude. In that Base Conversation, she basically had the "its the thought that counts" mentality. What?
  7. Interesting. See, the thing is that i've heard so many definitons of what yandere is, that I don't know anymore. That's probably the reason why I see Tharja as one but not Camilla. But we can all agree that Tharja is a stalker, right? Because that's what Tharja does, but not Camilla and Faye. I usually see the stalker trait as being part of the yandere trope but that also depends on other things as well. Maybe it's because of my forgiving and tolerant nature, but i certainly would forgive Faye.
  8. Except Celica gets Support Bonuses from Faye straight from the get-go. Not the other way around but it's there. And the whole point of those passive Supports is that the characters are good enough friends to the point where they get those bonuses immediately. Now of course, Faye doesn't get Support Bonuses from Celica but that could just be Echoes' weird way of handling Supports. It's a mix of the passive Supports seen in FE3/5, and the CBA Supports seen in almost every game since FE6. Also, i find it amusing that Faye gives and gets Support Bonuses from Mycen of all people.
  9. I'm using Heroes quotes because, while it isn't canon, it's also our first look at what Faye might be like in the English version of SoV, and Heroes has done a pretty good job of portraying characters. I said this before, but I judge characters based on how they are in the English version. Counterpoint: she does end up becoming friends with Silque in the end, so Faye isn't completely hostile. If anything, it just takes her a while to make friends with anyone who isn't Alm. I would not be surprised if she was also a bit hostile towards the other villagers before eventually becoming friends with them. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this then. That's more of Fates's story just being a mess at times. That's just Camilla being depressed. Elise states states that Camilla became depressed after Corrin joined Hoshido. Camilla just doesn't know anymore. Ok, but S-Supports are a whole different deal. A lot of them just happen out of nowhere. That's because there's no English version of SoV yet. I can't just exclusively use Faye's Heroes quotes. Once we get English SoV, i'll be using Faye's English quotes instead. Back to the whole Tharja thing, I did say she was a yandere. However, there are different levels of yandere. Tharja, despite being a yandere, is actually pretty mild for one. I don't like the yandere trope in general, and thus I don't like Tharja, but I will admit that Tharja's yandereness isn't as bad as the other yanderes that exist in fiction. As for why I find Tharja to be a yandere, but not Camilla, it's mainly because of her Supports with Niles. Camilla isn't just obsessing with Corrin out of nowhere. She's got an actual reason. Meanwhile, Tharja is obsessing over Robin because reasons.
  10. I'll test this when I get the game in a month. I'll do it on a separate profile.
  11. Maybe he just has an "i got injured" quote just like what half the cast in Awakening does when they "die"........is what i would say, except Clive has actual death quotes so.... Maybe he's important enough to warrant a game over should he die.
  12. Here's the thing though. Disappearances don't mean unhappiness in the world of Fire Emblem. Like, Navarre, Phina, Sophia, Igreen, and a couple other characters in the series just disappear. Does that mean they were unhappy? No. Or maybe yes. We don't know. The same applies to Faye. The difference here is that Faye actually does return from her disappearances, compared to everybody else in the series who has disappeared. And the fact that she returns in the first place is proof that, despite all things, she still cares about her family in the end. If she didn't, the ending would say "Although Faye returned to Ram village and her old life, she could never forgot Alm. A man who didn't mind this wooed her, and they were married. One day, however, she mysteriously disappeared and never returned". Inb4 the English version of the game does this. And again, going off her Heroes quotes, she's too cheerful to live a completely unhappy life. It is possible that whenever Faye is unhappy, she disappears. But if that's the case, then her returning from the disappearances is her getting over her sadness.....at least until it comes back. My point is, i doubt Faye lives an entirely unhappy life. Living a completely happy life is unrealistic. Living a completely unhappy life is also unrealistic.
  13. I figured this would be the best place to put this but, for those of you who plan on downloading Echoes, the game takes up 1.6 GB on your SD card.
  14. Her ending says: ”Although Faye returned to Ram village and her old life, she could never forgot Alm. A man who didn't mind this wooed her, and they were married. Despite this, she occasionally worried her family by disappearing unexpectedly.” It doesn't say that she's unable to settle down there. Yeah, she never forgets Alm but it also says she returned to her old life. Meaning, she went back to doing whatever it was she was doing before she left Ram Village. And then there's the part that says that man she married "wooed her", so it looks like, despite her feelings for Alm, whoever this guy is was able to win her over. The disappearing part doesn't sound ominous either. I mean, a lot of characters in the series like to vanish like that. Doesn't mean that they were unhappy. Of course, because it is a "disappeared" type ending, it's very open to interpretation, even if Faye's disappearances are only temporary, and plus, we don't know how frequent they are either.
  15. Camilla trying to kill Corrin was because Garon threatened to execute her if she didn't. And as for Camilla trying to kill the Hoshidians, the other royals were trying to do the same thing as well. That's just a joke tho. We live in an age where we can make the darkest of jokes and it'll still be seen as a joke. The magic words right there. When I judge a character, game, whatever, I judge based on what I see in the English version of the game, because that's the version I play. For example, when I talk about Henry, i always talk about how he acts in the English version. Which is why i'm saving my full opinions on Faye until the English version of SoV comes out, because that's the one i'll be playing. Does she though? Her ending says that she goes back to Ram Village, apparently marries (i'm hearing she does but i'm also hearing she doesn't) and occasionally disappears sometimes but it never states that she was unhappy, nor does it state that she was a terrible mother/wife. Going off her Heroes quotes (because again, that's the one look we have at English version Faye right now), the girl is too cheerful to be unhappy or to be a terrible person. Yes, Faye was rude to Silque but that's also in the Japanese version. We don't know if it'll be the same in the English version. You know, there is still a chance for Faye to improve overall. There's gonna be 10 DLC maps that'll focus on character backstories and all that good stuff. It'll probably be like the Festival of Bonds DLC. And a character like Peri can get one redeeming factor from that DLC, then I think Faye has a chance of improvement.
  16. Regarding Heroes, that's probably just showing a bit of what the English version of SoV is gonna do with Faye. Her character is mostly same but toned down a bit. I mentioned it in my first post on this thread. But like, Berkut is also new. And Linea. And Conrad. And Fernand. And Forenus even though he never actually appears in the game. This actually leads into a point I do want to make: I think Faye can be forgiven. Yes, her character is just "Alm love me pls" but at the end of the day, if she is a bad character, she's just this one little black spot in a good game. Again, I don't hate Faye, I think she's alright and harmless. But I do see where people are coming from, even if I do feel that they are hating on Faye more than necessary.
  17. I agree, liking or bashing a character based solely on design is stupid. For me, I like both Faye AND Camilla but not Tharja and here's why. Tharja, unlike Faye and Camilla, is a yandere (or stalker, whatever). A lot of people are classifying Faye as a yandere, and I personally feel that she shouldn't be. For starters, Faye isn't going out of her way to get Alm to love her. Whereas Tharja would resort to hexes and voodoo and whatever, all Faye is doing is just being close to Alm. That's it. Going off her Heroes dialouge (as that's the one look we have at her localized version), she sounds genuinely happy at just the thought of Alm. Now yes, Faye does say in a Base Conversation something about obeying all of Alm's orders and she also says something about fighting enemies for Alm. But in the world of anime, you can say that and still not be classified as a yandere or stalker (example: Juvia from Fairy Tail). Then there's the fact that Faye has known Alm since childhood. Despite being obsessed with him, she's known him long enough. Compare that to Tharja, who was just an enemy soldier until Chrom came in and recruited her. Because it was Chrom that recruited her, i'm surprised she's not going after him instead. And then there's the interactions. Looking at Faye's Supports with Alm, Alm doesn't feel awkward around Faye. He even says "She gets so excited over little things. Maybe I should learn from her" and then in their A-Support "I only found those things because of you all helping me along the way. Thank you, Faye. I'm glad we could have this journey together." Alm in no way is creeped out by Faye. Now compare this to Robin's Supports with Tharja. In those Supports, Robin is very much creeped out by Tharja, which makes sense. I too would be creeped out if someone was watching me sleep, taking notes of how many times I turned over while sleeping. As for Camilla, what made me like her was her Supports with Niles. I truly believe that's one of the best Supports in Fates. Yes, Camilla does obsess over Corrin, but she's got a legitimate reason. I will agree that Faye should've been more than just "Alm love me pls", but I'm not really mad about it. When Faye's character was revealed thanks to the datamines, I figured people would dislike her, but I didn't think it would be this much. I personally do feel that Faye is getting too much undeserved hate.
  18. I said this about Faye in another thread so i'm just gonna quote myself here
  19. Oh good, i was planning on promoting as soon as possible anyway like i do in every FE because i'm impatient when it comes to level ups. Also, I wouldn't say Again is worth it, Faye learns Again as a Saint. Again costs 24 HP and Saints have a base HP of 30. Doing the math, 30-24=6. Using Again would leave Faye with 6 HP. All it takes after that is just for an Archer to come in and kill her in one hit. So yeah, Again isn't worth it. I do hear that the Cleric line is still Faye's best Class tho.
  20. From what I've heard, despite the maps' blandness, they still require actual strategy to beat, as opposed to just letting your strongest unit solo the game. I've heard the game actually gets challenging, even on Normal. But i've also heard conflicting reports that the AI on Normal is stupid.
  21. This. So much this. When you look at the facts, Faye has an actual reason for obsessing over Alm. She's known him since childhood. And the fact that she actually goes and confesses to him proves that her feelings for him are true. Meanwhile with Tharja, what's her excuse for obsessing over Robin? Actually, what IS Tharja's excuse? They never go into that. Wasn't it like, they were supposedly lovers in a past life or something? Or was that Rhajat? I don't know. The worst part about Tharja is that she isn't even recruited by Robin. She's recruited by Chrom. Looking back on it, i'm genuinely surprised she's not going after Chrom instead.
  22. So I suppose that translates to Echoes having a 7/10? To be perfectly honest, this is the score I expect from Western reviewers such as IGN. While I can see doing well, I also expect common complaints regarding the HP Cost and the map design (and maybe some other complaints such as a lack of Avatar or a much smaller roster of characters).
