  1. Ryoma's armor has now been changed to a generic png image of a lobster with Ryoma's face plastered on the front. I wish Lyn never existed.
  2. I guess it depends on how you look at it. The way I see it, humans have free will, but fate is pre-determined. Think of it like a "Choose your own adventure" book where, no matter what choices you make, the ending is always the same. A better example would be in a video game where, no matter what decisions you make, the ending is the same. I think a decent example would be in Pokemon Black and White, where at one point in the game, N asks you a question, and the player's response will affect N's opinion of the player. IIRC, that exchange happens at the end of Chargestone Cave. If you haven't played Black and White to the end, quick spoiler alert. However, there is one counter-argument that comes to mind, and that's the whole theory of the Butterfly Effect, but that should be discussed in a separate thread. Sorry for the lengthy response, I was just sharing my thoughts.
  3. Right, sorry about that. I didn't have the intent of shaming anyone, but I apologize if I came off that way.
  4. There's also the fact that money spent on the game could have gone to better investments, like college, charity, etc. Quite frankly, I'm completely satisfied with all of the units that I have, even though the 30 or so 5 star characters I have is almost nothing to the +10 fanatics out there. But I don't really care. My units each contribute something, and I like them as both units and characters, even if their IVs aren't perfect (atleast workable). To be honest, it's kind of sad to see that some people have invested so much into a game that most likely won't be too relevant anymore within the next few years.
  5. It can become pretty difficult in any Fire Emblem game if you don't shop for items (except in Thracia, but that discussion should be in a different thread). Anyway, with Awakening's durability system, a player is most likely going to have to shop for items at one point or another. It's the safest thing to do, and it can prevent any future catastrophes where a unit's weapons decide to conk out on them and they're left defenseless. You could always get a weapon repaired, but that technically counts as shopping. I really like what Echoes did with it's weapon system, where if a unit doesn't have an actual weapon equipped, they get a generic one instead, like a Sword or Lance, so that they can still attack.
  6. Oh, hey! Welcome! I myself am not part of the hacking scene, but there should be plenty of threads to check out for that if I'm right.
  7. If that's the only reason you wanted to try it out, then it looks like you've already found the answer for yourself, my good man.
  8. I'm curious to see what people say to this. I suppose this is more of a "What's your personal preference?" thread than an objective thread, but feel free to answer however you like. Also, explain why your chosen character has the best art, but don't yell at each other over who has better art. With that said, if I may throw my hat into the ring (that's how the saying goes, right?), I think Sigurd has some really good art. It's remains pretty faithful to how he was depicted in his original FE4 artwork, aside from a different pose, but his clothes look the same. His attacking art looks awesome, too, and his color scheme is just generally nice to look at. I'm no art critic, but I'd rate it pretty high.
  9. I'm not sure if welcome is the right word seeing as how you've lurked for years, so welcome back.
  10. Moonbow is just great in general. It has a low cooldown and can do just enough extra damage to kill, hence why it's used so much. Not only that, but it can punch through high defenses (not as much as Luna, though). Glimmer on the other hand is great for sweepers or characters with a high damage output, like the aforementioned M!Grima and bladetome users. It's a shame that I never see Astra used anywhere. It has double the cooldown count as Glimmer (which can easily be mitigated by Quickened Pulse, Heavy Blade, Steady Breath, etc.), but triple the damage boost, which is a pretty nice incentive to choose Astra over Glimmer, but meh. The way I see it, Moonbow is good against high defense units, and Glimmer is good against low defense units. Moonbow does little to no extra damage against low defense units, and Glimmer is awful against high defense units. Oh yeah, before I forget, I just wanted to mention that people use Glimmer to be "flashy."
  11. I can still post here right? The topic isn't too old yet? Okay, cool. The similarities between Sigurd from FE4 and Jonathan Joestar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is too close. There's was a reddit post that showcased fanart of Sigurd looking like Jotaro Kujo, a descendant of Jonathan, and one poster who went by the name of KujoQtaro said: "Both were born into nobility and wealth. Both were also very strong and gifted with powers above normal humans, and fought with conviction and the belief that what they fought for was just and right. Both of their fathers died in front of them, prompting their own growth to defeat the one responsible for their father's death. Though they lost great and close allies along the way, (Quan and Ethlyn & Zeppeli and Dire) they ultimately appeared to succeed in their goals by defeating the villain. However, they were surprisingly and violently killed in front of their wives by one who had masqueraded as a friend, surrounded by fire. Their descendants avenge them eventually though." Jonathan is a lot more jacked than Sigurd, but the resemblances remain true regardless.
  12. A brief plot summary: Sigurd gets caught up in political turmoil, Eldigan dies, Arvis cucks over Sigurd and steals his wife, Sigurd's son Seliph continues his dad's legacy and starts liberating half the continent, Seliph has a half-sister that he can marry by exploiting the game (like there wasn't enough incest), Seliph cucks Arvis for cucking his dad, and then proceeds to cuck over Arvis' son Julius (who is basically the anti-christ of the series) and becomes King of Grannvale. The End. I love this game, and I agree with your sentiments. FE4 has one of the best overall stories in the series, which is why it's my favorite game in the series too, and it's hard not to get attached to the characters (atleast for me). Sigurd's tale is a sad one that leaves a melancholy taste in my mouth by the end, but then I remember, "Oh hey, Seliph exists," and it's impossible for me not to see Sigurd in Seliph. Speaking of parentage, my favorite aspect of the game was pairing units together, and then getting to see their kids finish the story for them. When you see the ending scene of Chapter 5, it makes the player realize that all the units that they built up over the course of Sigurd's tale are now gone (aside from Finn, who returns as the only playable unit from Gen 1, and Lewyn, who returns as Seliph's advisor and tactician). It's also hinted that many from Sigurd's Army survived, but not all of them, so their fates are up for interpretation... atleast until Thracia 776. Gameplay can be a slog, but it's probably one of the most fun aspects of the game (aside from that one part in Chapter 1) and it's cool to see the Player's great big army versus other enemy armies that are almost twice as large, which gives the game a huge sense of scale if the maps didn't already do so. And then there are the Holy Weapons that destroy everything (especially Forseti on Lewyn and Ced). All in all, fun game.
  13. Title speaks for itself. You can say anything you want, as long as it's ironic to some degree. I'll start. Someone wears an eyepatch, but their hair covers the eyepatch.
  14. Forde from FE8 bears a striking resemblance to Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. It actually mentions this on Forde's wiki page in the Trivia section.
  15. She's definitely got it down pretty well, that's for sure. I can really see it in Leif's portrait, his facial expression kind of looks like Yuzu's in her Echoes art.
  16. Woah. That's is some extremely solid artwork. Granted it's not official, but still. It kind of looks like a cross between Echoes and Awakening's artsytles. Y'know, I wonder what the artstyle would be for a Genealogy remake? I feel like this could work.
  17. I saw that animation too, and I thought it was really cool. The music is actually really good. I would love to hear the Black Knight's theme in full (without the background noise going on) in this style, but maybe some other day. Getting back on topic, to answer the title question, Ike can't die the story would probably continue on as usual with the proposed plot changes you mentioned to compensate for Ike's death. That, or the usual Game Over would happen like with all video games, and Ike gets a do over. As for Radiant Dawn and Ike's importance, I would say Ike has a bit of importance. Not too much, but still. Even if he and the Greil Mercenaries weren't playable, they would have to show up at some point or another, like when the Dawn Brigade and the Greil Mercenaries fought each other. Even if they didn't, Sothe would still be around to at the very least mention Ike, which shows how influential Ike was (well, to Sothe, anyway). There's also Ike and the Black Knight's whole rival dynamic to consider, too. What's the point of keeping the Black Knight around if there's no Ike to fight him? Which brings me back to the topic question, if the Black Knight killed Ike, he wouldn't really have too much purpose anymore. He would still be around, I'm sure, but he would never get to experience battle with Greil in his prime through Ike again. But those are just my thoughts. I haven't played Radiant Dawn (yet, because it's expensive), but I know a bit of the plot.
  18. You could always retake the class online, if it's possible, over the summer. Even if you can't, you're on your way to college. If you don't need it to graduate, then it's no big deal. Besides, you and your dad will most likely forget about it in the future anyway. I agree with what @Light Strategist said, by the way. If there's anything to take away from this, it's what he said.
  19. Ok, thank you. Sorry for the mistake.
  20. I need some advice with staying focused on work or studies of any kind. I figured making this topic could help out other people, too, so that's why I made it. I know making this topic is probably counterproductive, but anyone can use it for future reference, at least. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Just some general or personal tips that could work for anyone and everyone is fine.
  21. As someone who prefers the cold (but not air conditioned cold, I despise that to no end), I'm definitely not a fan of the outdoor heat. It gets humid where I live, and it feels so awkward. If it's a mild temperature with a nice breeze, then whatever, but if it's super windy, I'm not leaving my house. It messes up my hair. Not too long ago, there were winds so strong that school had to be cancelled because of it. It ripped the sidings of houses off and messed up the shingles on roofs. A friend's fence got totaled because of a fallen tree. Overall, strong winds and blazing temps are absolutely awful.

  23. Add Dora's Backpack. That thing can hold the entire universe in there and still have more than enough room. That being said, you could fit all the stuff that's been listed so far and switch between items on the fly. Oh, and the Ocarina of Time. It can rewind time, which is pretty powerful in it's own right.
