I thought I may as well use one of my five Forma Souls to get Innes from the current HoF ...at least I thought it was current. I've been barely paying attention and ended up forgetting to even finish the event. Whoops.

Volke joins right before the final set of maps
For some reason I had it in my head that Volke was from a much earlier game. Huh.

Nothing offensive here, but nothing interesting to me either. Won't be around to do anything with this banner anyway, but it's just as well there's no FOMO element here.
- Zelgius' extra mobility seems a bit out of place since his kit has no real synergy with it. I mean fine, I don't want every premium armour to be a save unit so I'm happy to see Assault Troop, but unlike Summer Edelgard where it serves a clear and obvious purpose, this one is just there.
- I have no idea who Heather is, but happy for her fans. I've never been able to properly use units whose schtick revolved around rallies.
- Oh look, another Seasonal-locked Atk/Spd Catch 3.
- Red Ninja Corrin I'm sure is good, if uninteresting mechanically these days.

Odd thing I've only just noticed happening this TT. I'm doing my lazy thing where I just run the spare level 1 4* Nils in the battles to make it so my enemies are all level 1, and my one random ally too.
But that's not consistently happening anymore. I noticed after getting defeated a couple of times that the enemy sometimes gets a fully kitted out level 40 unit. And I've also noticed sometimes that both my allies are level 40. I wonder if the pool of people running level 1 units as their lead unit is now so small that sometimes literally none are eligible to be picked. I've also seen the same random ally picked several times in a row, so that sort of backs up that theory. Hmm.

So I did a bunch of Chain Challenges and Squad Assaults with the intention of sparking both the Returning heroes and New Heroes banners. Way too many for my own good (and I kind of underestimated some 2019-era SAs).
It went ...poorly. As mentioned a week or so ago, I'd managed two Tikis and an Alfred within the first 10 pulls. No one else but a 4*SR +Atk -Spd Micaiah appeared between then and pull 51 at 10%. Who was a Neutral Rearmed Robin. After I had chosen to spark Rearmed Robin. Yeah... at least the Micaiah was my first ever copy, and she's got a good nature. Yeah yeah, nature of RNG and all that, three 5-stars in 10 pulls then zero in 40.
I then turned around and started chipping away at sniping green on New Heroes again. This has gone pretty well, and I've just picked up a +Atk -Res New Peony and a +Res -Def Neimi within 6 pulls of resuming. 33 pulls total so far and the tally has been 2x Peony, 1x Triandra, 1x Sonya and 1x Neimi, so no complaints there. I will probably spark another Sonya because I have no use for Mycen.
Bonus: Picked up a Summer Helbindi in today's revival banner.

Hey, I'm right there with you. I'm planning to finish off the sparks on the Rearmed banner to grab the dancers from it
Ah, I meant the Returning Ascended and Rearmed banner, though given both banners have Ascended and Rearmed units that's a useless distinction. New Heroes vs Returning Heroes it is.
I'm 27 pulls into the New Heroes, 10 pulls into Returning Heroes. With both expiring in sooner than a week from now it's unlikely I'll have the energy to do much more with them. I have already managed to pull Sonya, Triandra and Peony from New Heroes, and Alfred, Tiki and Tiki from Returning, so to be honest I wouldn't even feel bad if I just dropped everything now and walked away.
As for the orb situation, the situation is that I have no orbs. Literally zero. There's 13 left to grab from the November monthly, plus I haven't gotten any of the TT orbs yet. But as a diversion I've decided to count the remaining "rainy day" orbs I have left to claim if I could be bothered to do so:
_______
Main Story Normal: 5
Main Story Hard: 30
Paralogue Normal: 21
Paralogue Hard: 21Tactics Drills: 17
Grandmaster: 17Chain Challenge Main Story: 48
Chain Challenge Paralogue: 44
Squad Assault: 124
Blessed Grounds: 35Total: 362

First and full round on the Legendary banner got me nothing better than a +Spd three-star Lapis, but that's not a terrible outcome I guess, especially as I've surprisingly managed to pull her surprisingly often. I have no intention of going any farther with this banner.
First and full round on the Ascended Rearmed banner got me ...two Ascended Tikis, my third and fourth overall. I don't really have a use for the copies and she's probably my least-wanted unit on the banner, but gift horse and all that. Still have the five actual tickets left but time's running out to use them properly and I'm currently on zero orbs. I don't know how I'll use the tickets yet but the end of this banner will be the end.
Oh, and the weekly arena freebie is Bowlyn. Fine.
EDIT: Another full round got me my second Alfred, much more of a unit I wanted.
-
Yeah, I think I've decided I'm out too after finding myself struggling along for the last 2-3 weeks. I think I'm being a bit stubborn wanting to efficiently use my 5 remaining tickets on the Rearmed banner before I officially pull the plug, which I know is a ridiculous thing to do because I won't be around to use the units. Beyond that I don't really see a future left in the game for me.
-
Went out of their way to avoid giving Phina a new weapon too. Where was this logic with Dire Thunder?
-
I'd been having a hard time deciding on the Valentia banner vs the Ascended/Rearmed banner for a while, but eventually plumped for the former, mostly on the strength of the increased colour-sharing odds. Just as I was starting to regret my decision, +Atk -Res Rearmed Sonya appeared at 3.75%, and +Def -Spd New Unit Type Triandra appeared the very next pull as I finished out the circle.
I now have everyone worth having from the banner (i.e. everyone but Mycen), though sadly both dancers have terrible natures. At 27/40 pulls I don't know if it's worth finishing out the spark or shifting my attention to the other banner, for which I still have all five free pulls available.
There's a little voice in the back of my head saying I should just grab all my remaining orbs (going back to Blessed Gardens) and spark both as a farewell to FEH. Got a week to decide that I guess, I've been limping towards the finish line for 2-3 weeks now.
-
Not terrible, but the least of the Firs in the game.

Got Sara on the Flayn banner and then turned around and got Flayn on the weekly arena banner, funny how that turned out. I think I didn't update here last week as I've been playing less than I have for a long, long time, but last week's freebie was CYL Ephraim.

I was reflecting on the sad fact that I've only pulled two Bastians ever, both 3-star with awful natures. But then a +Atk -Spd copy popped up today so yay I guess. Actually he's a more recent unit than I thought, so mathematically three copies in the 8 months of his existence is probably not unreasonable. Meanwhile, I've pulled exactly one Elice and zero Nynas, fewer than any other demote since them.
Not that I'm going to do anything about it, since I have no Sonya or anything else to give him. But at least Sonya's three siblings are here together now.

P.S. Has Tailtiu been in the Limited Combat Manuals yet? The FEH wiki only goes up to June of this year 😕 Thanks again!
We're only up to Lucius right now, so Robin, M Shez and Donnel are next in line before Tailtiu appears in February.

Five rounds sniping green resulted in 6 green pulls and one blue, the final pull being a +HP -Atk New Peony. Decent luck that. I don't actually have any plans for her, or indeed for FEH in general, so I'm done for now (as I have a grand total of 21 orbs anyway) and will see how I feel as the next week or two progress. Leaning towards it being the end of the line for me I think, with this damp squib of a reveal this week there's really nothing I'm looking forward to anymore.

Didn't have a hope of solving Abyssal Nerthuz by myself, so I trawled the subreddit for solutions. CYL Celica was strong enough to Galeforce through Infernal but gets absolutely wrecked by Abyssal enemies. The big enemies were handled okay by Ascended Celica with Bride Catria support but their action economy was likewise insufficient for Abyssal.
Ended up using Doyagi's solution with Legendary Celica, Palla, Zeke and Rinea, but getting enough stats on Celica without needing to resort to refining her was a bit of a task. Specifically, with her base kit she can't counter-kill the blue flier mage at the end, and it kills her the next turn after Nerthuz dies. Fortunately LnD3 in her A-slot and the Bonus Doubler seal turned out to be just enough enemy phase speed to pull this off.
Maybe I'd have been a bit more open to the refine if I somehow didn't get it into my mind that refines cost 400 dew, when in fact they only cost 200. Oops. Oh well, still 200 dew saved I guess, at the cost of a fair chunk of time.
-
Too late to help complete the Abyssal Nerthuz LHB, figures. I do see a couple YouTube strats I could theoretically use, but trading 400 dew for 20 paper seems like kind of a bad deal.
As for the actual units:
- Sonya I'm sure is strong, but we've been absolutely inundated with strong infantry green mages this year so in the context of the banner she's a distant third.
- Mycen with the painfully truncated kit is pointless.
- Triandra as a dancer with no extra mobility isn't very interesting to me, plus her base version looks nicer.
- Peony therefore is by default the pick of the banner.
Now, uh, time to look up what this new hero type actually involves.
EDIT: So I'm a dum-dum and didn't realise that "Arc" was short for Arcane and that Sonya was therefore a Rearmed unit. Yeah...In the end though, I'm finding that I really don't care about any of this and the prospect of gathering up 150 orbs or whatever feels less appealing than ever despite the notionally excellent value for sniping green. I really can't decide whether to zig or zag here, with zig being sniping pure green and zag being ...quitting the game.
-
I decided to commit to getting a second 5-star from the Legendary banner, and as a result I ended up having to grab around 30 story mode orbs to actually get it. Fortunately vindication arrived in the form of +Def -Atk Legendary Elincia. Rubbish nature but I'll settle for that for the time being.
Doing 40 pulls on the 1K banner and 34 on the Legendary banner without being able to spark either of them really hurts the soul, but I'm being a bit more free and easy with the orbs for now because I'm probably bailing out once they do the reveal (or non-reveal) of the mooted new hero type later this month.
P.S. Weekly arena freebie is +Spd -HP CYL Camilla, which I am pleased with because my only other copy is -Atk.
-
Looks fine, but if you showed me that picture without context I'd not have guessed it was Sheena. Could be anyone really, well anyone younger because she's also lost a few years.
-
Did the customary full round on the seasonal banner, which yielded a +Atk -Spd Ascended Joshua and a 4* +HP -Def Seadall for my trouble.
-
Grabbed my second Legendary Hinoka overall with the 11th pull on the Legendary banner, sniping red only. Not as good as pulling a first Elincia of course, but I'll take it. -Atk, but my existing one is +Atk, so that's irrelevant. I'm assuming I'll merge here, and probably ascend speed to turn her into a pretty strong carry for any content.
No greys nor greens on the Arena banner so I rolled the dice on red and got my first Fallen Celica, so that worked out. +Spd -HP too which is nice.
As for the Engage revival, the only thing noteworthy to come out of it is my first (3-star) +Spd Vanessa.
EDIT: Decided to go to 40/40 pulls on the 1K banner even if I'm not guaranteed to spark it, just so that I'll be in a position to do so. Worked out, with the 40th and final pull being a neutral Duo Nina. Nice bookends I suppose, with the very first pull on the banner also being a focus unit, with one in between. Also picked up a bonus Nailah in the circle previously. If I do spark, I'll probably opt for Thorr over Chrom but at this stage I think I won't do it, feeling pretty done with the game so it's silly to throw any money at it. Additional factors against would be that the Halloween banner is so-so at best, and there might be a new hero type introduced later in the month.
-
Middling banner for me, would have to be an end-of-the-month thing as I'm currently in the mud trying for Legendary Elincia. Then it competes against whatever the New Heroes banner is.
The way I'm seeing it now means that I'd have to buy FEH Pass on Thursday to even be able to consider this banner, actually. That would have me spark the 1K banner immediately, spark the Legendary banner (some orb farming required), then have this Halloween banner up my sleeve against not just New Heroes, but the Mythic and possibly the next seasonal banner too.
As for the units:
- Timerra. Looks awful, but presumably the best godlance in the game. Not the kind of unit I use for general content really so I'm okay giving her a miss.
- Flayn. Looks alright, which is plenty good enough given her in-demand class.
- Seadall. Looks good, best art on the banner. Not someone I'd build up though since there's zero compelling reason to invest in an infantry dancer with zero distinguishing characteristics, seems he's geared towards providing bridge fodder which is unfortunate for him.
- Annanna. Looks just about okay, but of course the selling point here is being Harmonic, as well as as excellent mobility, which is right up my alley.
-
Relay Defense was hard work, this is hitting autobattle 15 times to get 12 orbs since feathers are immaterial now. I'll take that. And Frontline Phalanx which is even less effort I guess. 🙂
Grand Conquest is the one I really have a problem with, hugely disproportionate amount of effort for reward.

A few more CCs and SAs to get me to the spark on New Heroes on its final day, for which I was five pulls away. Remarkably, pull #36 was +Atk -Spd Mamori (new base), pull #37 was my third New Peony, and then after being stranded on 39 pulls, I was presented with a quad-green circle which gave me my second Rearmed Sonya. The two actual focus units had rubbish natures but I'd already pulled perfect copies of them before. As for the spark, I spent some time deciding between a third Sonya or a second Triandra. I decided on Triandra mostly due to the fact my other copy was +Def -Spd.
So yeah, a good way to finish up. 44 pulls total on the banner, for 3x Peony, 2x Sonya and 2x Triandra. Long live green colour sharing I suppose. Randomly picked up a +Spd Minerva on one of the weekly revival banners too, bonus.
I'll grab the TT orbs, do one full round on the Ninja banner, then I'm out of the game for the foreseeable future.
