The original FF Tactics is one of the best games out there and is basically a must. FFTA 1 and 2 are fans-only games which could well please the odd person. Tactics Ogre is slooooooooow, but fun.

It depends on the context. Recently I watched the Korean film Oldboy and the gore there was quite effective within the context which necessitated it. Gore for the sake of gore though? Wouldn't care to seek such content out.

It's a valid question. There are too many games I can play for free that I still choose not to play. Is Fates worth your time? Conquest definitely is, but I see no harm in playing the other two as well.

Elieson, I think things might be a bit easier if you can draw a line between what you can script and what the host can do manually. Is it not possible to have some kind of /yes/no/ check if the target is able to counterattack? If the host doesn't have to count the support bonuses/equipment boosts etc. each time, it becomes so easy to keep track of the few things that remain. As for me, I've been procrastinating on posting the Berserker write-up for Fates LA. I had around a half an hour work done, and thought the forum's auto-save function would keep it there for me until I would login next time, but apparently it resets when you clear your browser's history or something? Either way, I lost all progress and that's been keeping me away from doing the same all over again.

Why is everyone on Smogon saying that Nidoqueen > Nidoking because Queen is not only bulkier but somehow "hits harder"? What does she hit harder when Nidoking has better offence in both stats, is faster, and runs the same exact moves and abilities (most importantly, Sheer Force)?

I can't sustain attention well enough to read these really long books apparently. Can't remember which book is the longest out of Les Miserable (wouldn't have remembered it was that long in the first place if not previously mentioned by other posters) / LOTR / 4th Harry Potter which I'm listening as an audiobook in the original language right now and which is loooong, not sure how long though. I really want to read Infinite Jest sometime in the nearest future, anybody have experience with that? Not sure if it's quality literature or just a milestone in a pretentious person's biography right now, but it's been brought to my attention several times in a very appealing light, so it seems like destiny that I'll read it and study publications that aid in understanding it sooner or later. I've never read War and Peace though, even though I know too well what the book is about (learning about books I haven't read occasionally reappears as a compulsive hobby in my life).

I'm using the same version that recorded fine before buying a new PC. I'd tried several other versions at the same time I'd tried figuring out what the problem was. There was a thread on the forums about it a year ago, and I didn't get anything close to a solution then either. I just tried the version you pointed towards, and the result is the same - crashes when I try to record AVI. Google brings up absolutely nothing, and I have no idea whom I'd need to contact who would have any idea about this (the modding community? no clue).

I dunno if this is the thread to ask, but does anybody know why VBA-rerecording crashes on my new desktop PC whenever I try to record AVI? I haven't been able to record anything on my new PC, though regular versions of VBA work. It's the reason why I don't attempt anything in the GBA games nowadays.

The only way to make Felicia about as good at combat as Xander is to give her a bulky tome reclass as early as possible - Dark Knight, Malig Knight or Oni Chieftain. Because Flora joins really late, the only way to do it is marrying Corrin with the appropriate skillset. So Felicia is never as good as Jakob, and if you argue that Felicia shouldn't be taking any hits to function well, then that just proves Jakob is better - Jakob can take on hordes of enemies early on.

I heard about people playing Black and White when these came out and didn't care much. I was thinking about a new challenge to play in an old RPG when the idea to do a 0 exp run in Pokemon Silver came to my mind, sort of as a "for the lulz" thing. It got me hooked back to the series more seriously than ever, as I replayed every mainline game and did challenges in all of them.

I also stopped playing Pokemon for a long time after Sapphire, interesting.

Finally managed to set myself up a 0 experience playthrough of Pokemon Sun. Really can't wait to make progress!

How does Charlotte ORKO Hinoka exactly? She doesn't double with 35 AS or anything. Hinoka being so good as a lancer makes me wonder if the Spendthrift should be lifted. That makes the other lancers somewhat viable, though Hinoka still probably has the edge since having an extra player phase attack doesn't really do that much. My main worry about unbanning Spendthrift is that units like Berserker!Azama will get ridiculously strong as a result.

There were quite a few tbqh, and I do remember that they mattered a good bit in the mindgames, prediction and what have you.

Is the battle we're having a bit on the weird side, or are Breaker skills really way more central to the metagame than they were in Awakening? I imagine forged weapons made it less of an issue there.

Flame Shuriken or not, most easily accessible Felicia builds are terrible at combat. Jakob reclassed to Paladin/Great Knight is a unit who starts lolbroken and stays strong for the entire game.
