  1. Just as the title says. I made a similar thread a year ago, but I wanted to ask again today. What Assist Trophies would you have to accompany each character from the Fighters Passes? Only exception is ARMS, since Spring Man is an Assist Trophy. For me: Futaba Sakura (Persona): With the help of her Persona, Necronomicon, she uses Active Support to slowly heal and buff the stats of the summoner and their allies Jessica Albert (Dragon Quest): Attacks aggresively with her whip, but with a few key factors Whiplash: Jessica lets out at the ground in front of her. This attack has the range of about Marth's F-Tilt, is somewhat slow, and deals relatively little damage, but it has reasonably high vertical knockback and deals significant damage to shields Serpent's Bite: Jessica's whip transforms into a snake and launches forward with impressive speed. Comparable to the Belmonts' F-Smash, albeit with slightly less range at the advantage of having a faster startup and dealing consistent damage throughout the entire strike. Sexy Beam: Jessica puts away her whip, puts her together to form a finger gun, and shoots a large, heart-shaped projectile at an opponent. While the projectile is somewhat slow-moving, it is powerful and paralyzes opponents upon contact. Kacrackle: Jessica's final attack before going away; she summons four icicles above her (two to her left and two to her right) and drops them down on her opponents. These projectiles move fast, deal high vertical knockback, and freeze their targets upon contact. Thin characters can dodge this attack by standing between the icicles. Mumbo Jumbo (Banjo-Kazooie): Applies a random status or transformation to either the summoner or every fighter Bunny Hood Invisible Tiny Giant Metal Gold Super Leaf Superspicy Curry Flower Mushroom Nakoruru (Samurai Shodown): Attacks opponents with the help of her bird companion, Mamahaha Sothis (Three Houses): Accompanies the player and spares some of the Crest of Flames' power; this occasionally heals 30% damage equal to damage dealt Creeper (MInecraft): Follows opponents that get too close and explodes after 1.5 seconds when close enough to that opponent Tifa (Final Fantasy): Unleashes all of her Limit Breaks in order: Beat Rush Somersault Waterkick Meteodrive Dolphin Blow Meteor Strike Final Heaven Zeke (Xenoblade 2): Unleashes electric attacks with the help of Pandoria. Yoshimitsu (Tekken): Confuses opponents with many strange moves. Roxas (Kingdom Hearts): Goes full ham on opponents, unleashing his Limit Break when low on health.
  2. I wanted to play this for what it was advertised as; a (clears throat DIRECT PREQUEL TO BREATH OF THE WILD. No comment on gameplay; I couldn't pick up the game.
  3. Mario Kart x Crash Team Racing Mixes togther the characters, gameplay styles and tracks of both Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing. Mario Kart side CTR side Gameplay Adventure Mode
  4. Just as the title says. This can be to your wildest imagination, not necessarily limited to the current DLC season. For me, just get ready for so much bias I end up replacing some characters Assist Trophies Shadow Tiki (replacing Chrom in Ultimate) Excitebiker Hammer Bro (replacing Piranha Plant in Ultimate) Riki Poke Ball summons Meowth (replacing Jigglypuff as one of the original 12) Eevee Scizor (replacing Pichu in Melee and Ultimate) Snivy (replacing Greninja in Smash 4 and Ultimate) Mimikyu (replacing Incineroar in Ultimate)
  5. Just as the title says. What are pros and cons (along with some iffy stuff) related to your most wanted? For me: Sora Pros Disney actually shills out the Kingdom Hearts license to anyone willing to take it, with KH-related merch seeping out of every possible crevice in recent years for better or worse Sora himself has plenty of original material that make a full Challenger Pack with no Disney presence Original special attacks Original characters for a Spirit Board Kingdom Hearts is all about going to different worlds in general, so Sora would fit like a glove in Smash 5 KH games came out on Nintendo consoles: The original Chain of Memories (GBA) 358/2 Days (DS) Re:Coded (DS) Dream Drop Distance (3DS) Melody of Memory (Switch) Sora has crossed over in other Square Enix and Disney games World of Final Fantasy Disney Emoji Blitz Disney Tsum Tsum Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Final Fantasy Record Keeper Iffy Sora's Kingdom Key has a Mickey Mouse emblem on it; it can easily be replaced, but it's such a miniscule detail that it's hard to notice even in gameplay Would Donald and Goofy, at the very least, be Spirits? Or will they not appear at all? The KH versions are wildly different from how everyone knows them in their normal portrayals; so wildly that one could technically see them as KH original characters Would Sora's Smash appearance somehow be canon to the KH storyline? Nomura is known for making everything canon in KH, but the crossover appearances he has made weren't canon at all Cons Sora is a wildly divisive character; both within and outside the KH fanbase Sora was a limited-time DLC in WoFF, and then removed after the chance to get him passed by Furthermore, he makes no appearance in WoFF Maxima whatsoever Being owned by Disney, he's...bound to be slammed by arguments against him that mention controversial things Disney has done despite most of it being completely irrelevant to Kingdom Hearts, let alone Sora Possible backlash would flow in about a Disney crossover character featuring none of Disney's characters with him Haley Joel Osment, Sora's English voice actor, is a high-profile celebrity. So Nintendo of America may not want to pay royalties for him.
  6. I just remembered that Peony shares her name with a supporting character from the Crown Tundra. Someone should do a Spider-Man pointing meme of that.
  7. As someone who's played it for a criminal amount of time, I feel like the people who say Ring Fit Trainee would/should be a Wii Fit Echo haven't played Ring Fit Adventure at all.
  8. First party. WYR have the next Fighter be Crash Bandicoot or Rayman?
  9. I think I can make a more believable fake Smash leak than most fake Smash leaks out there.
  10. Here's a writeup I did for a pretty unexpected character: Fighter Idea Essay: Chosen Undead - Super Smash Bros. - Serenes Forest Forums
  11. I just did a pretty big write-up about the Chosen Undead in Smash (don't ask why).
  12. Since August, I've been obsessed with the idea of a Dark Souls rep in Smash Ultimate; specifically, the main protagonist of the first game, the Chosen Undead. Thou who art undead are chosen...for Smash. Dark Souls is a game created by FromSoftware, who were previously known for games like Armored Core and Demon’s Souls. The latter brought them international exposure that then skyrocketed with its spiritual successor, Dark Souls (which was created to dodge problems with Demon’s Souls, a game owned by Sony, appearing on other platforms). Dark Souls proved to be a legendary franchise, iconic mainly for its punishing difficulty, with Dark Souls III being not just the fastest-selling in the series, but the best-selling video game in Bandai-Namco’s history. It has also inspired games by FromSoft that play similar to yet stand out from Souls, such as Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (the former of which contributed to the SoulsBorne nickname for most post-Souls FromSoft games). Solaire and Artorias are two of the more popular characters from Dark Souls; so much so that the former got his own amiibo to coincide with the release of the Switch port of Dark Souls Remastered. Naturally, some expect either of them to be the representative for Smash were their home series ever introduced. However, I personally believe Chosen Undead would be a better choice; not just because he’s the main protagonist, but because Solaire isn’t associated with anything other than his Lightning Spear and Artorias’ fighting style would possibly be too distant from the Dark Souls series’ gameplay. Because of that, neither of them will be alternate costumes. But you know what will be? To keep it simple, the Chosen Undead would be referred to as such for all costumes, and primarily stick with the male base. The default costume would be the Elite Knight set, with a recolor based on Siegmeyer of Catarina. The first alt would be the Faraam Knight set, with a recolor based on Solaire (again, not a costume but a recolor); the second alt would be the Firelink Armor set from Dark Souls III (that of the Ashen One), with a recolor based on Dragonslayer Ornstein; the last alt would be the armor of the first game’s Black Knight miniboss, with a recolor based on the Silver Knight variation. The Chosen Undead would be a pretty slow and heavy but powerful fighter with plenty of attacks that threaten opponents, but leave him open to counterattacks. His normal attacks would mostly involve his sword and shield. The only exceptions would be his neutral air, which has him cast three fireballs around himself, and his down air, which would be the popular Plunging Attack. His forward Smash would be the Soul Greatsword from Dark Souls II; his up Smash would be the Great Combustion from Dark Souls; and his down Smash would be the Lightning Stake from Dark Souls III. The Chosen Undead’s specials would consist of several sorcery spells and items from the Dark Souls series. His Neutral-B would be the Homing Soulmass, where he summons five small orbs above him that home in on opponents. His Side-B would be the iconic Lightning Spear, which can be turned slightly by the player. His Up-B would be Homeward Bone, which teleports him straight back to a random part of the stage. His Down-B would be Estus Flask, which restores lots of health but only has 5 uses per stock. His gimmick would be the Stamina Gauge, which is the limit to how much he could attack. It refills almost instantly upon draining, but certain specials that require Stamina would be unavailable for a bit. His Final Smash would be called “Link the Flame”; it starts with the Undead casting Soul Stream, which covers the horizontal length of the entire stage. Opponents caught are then taken into a cutscene where the Undead links the First Flame and fire sprouts everywhere. The Final Smash would go on for a bit, as fire covers most of the stage. The Dark Souls stage would be Anor Londo, a location of great importance in the lore of Dark Souls and Dark Souls III. It’s a city founded by Gwyn after he establishes the Age of Fire; however, in Dark Souls III, it’s been reduced to a frozen ruin. It’s a location best known for the boss battle against Dragonslayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough in Dark Souls, who protect Princess Gwynevere. The main area on which fighters duke it out is the rotating platform in front of the castle. There are also two platforms next to the top half of the rotating platform. Every so often, the main platform will rotate, revealing the bottom half. After another while, it will rotate back down, leaving only the top half and the two platforms. Stage cameos consist of illusions of Dark Souls NPCs; these include Solaire, Siegmeyer, Ornstein and Smough, Gwyn, Emerald Herald, Pontiff Sulyvahn, Fire Keeper, and Unbreakable Patches. There are two different versions that will appear; the pristine, sunset city from the first game, and the frozen ruin from Dark Souls III. Players can manually select each version; the Dark Souls version can be selected by holding L and R, while the Dark Souls III version can be selected by holding ZL and ZR. Cameos more likely to appear in the former are characters from the first game, while those from the third game are more likely to appear in the latter; Patches is the only cameo that has equal chances of appearing in either version, as he is a recurring Souls character. Little details and other pieces of Dark Souls fanservice have been included with the coming of it unto Smash; the Chosen Undead is mute, only using Dark Souls sound effects, including the famous “YOU DIED” sound effect for his Star KO (which also plays when the player loses a Dark Souls-related Spirit Battle; likewise, “Victory Achieved” appears when the player wins a Spirit Battle). Music would be songs from Dark Souls I-III, but no other SoulsBorne games. The Undead’s Classic Mode would be called “Jolly Cooperation”, where the theme of each fight would be a mix of Covenants and Dark Souls bosses, and all the fights take place on medieval stages. Another CPU fighter would occasionally interrupt the battles you fight as either an ally or enemy.. The boss would be Dracula, a powerful old man with white hair (a trend for final battles in SoulsBorne games). The Spirit Board would be characters from all 3 Dark Souls games; among the many alts of the Undead, only the Black Knight costume would not be a Fighter Spirit. Mii Costumes related to the Chosen Undead would be Solaire, Ornstein, Lloyd (all Swordfighters), Jin (a Brawler), and Dig Dug (a Gunner). So yeah. On paper, a character from Dark Souls doesn’t seem like it would fit into Smash even remotely. Liberties would have to be taken to do that while staying true to Dark Souls gameplay, but I think it could work if done right. And I say that as someone who never intends to even touch a SoulsBorne game with a 39½ ft. pole. Full moveset Challenger Pack Classic Mode: Jolly Cooperation (Fights with and against characters based on those from Dark Souls on medieval fantasy stages, some interrupting at random) (Thread inspired by: Fighter Idea: Dr. Wily & Robot Masters - Super Smash Bros. - Serenes Forest Forums) (Smash content ideas inspired by: https://youtu.be/3vZ8Ip_rDYE)
  13. Hi! I just got Shadow Dragon on the Switch, and I'm going to be posting my playthrough on this thread from time to time. I'm gonna venture to see why this game wasn't localized at the time of its release.
  14. My picks for the last 3 would be Crash, Bandana Dee and Sora. I know that last one seems less likely because of Sephiroth, but I want him to be the last characters just to throw everyone off.
  15. Mine is to: Try out the character in Training to get a feel for the moveset Use them for a quick match against the CPU Use them in Classic Mode Beat their Spirit Board
  16. I just finished the Spirit Board. I found myself disabling items for a lot of them, making them kinda easy compared to the other Spirit Boards I've done. Of course, I used Sephiroth for all of them.
  17. ...All this time with Sephiroth out and I just now rememberes this thread.
  18. The justice the composers did with all the other series’ themes and their remixes only makes me wish that Byleth’s and Min Min’s songs had more remixes.
  19. I made a pretty interesting thread: Make your own roster(s) out of complete bias - Super Smash Bros. - Serenes Forest Forums
  20. Ever wanted a dream roster? Then this thread's the one to let your wildest dreams run free. Only strings attached are the officially-established "video game characters only" rule. You can do a roster for Ultimate specifically or the entire series. I've opted to do the latter, so here's my dream roster(s): 64 Melee Brawl Base Smash 4 (both versions) Sm4sh DLC Base Ultimate Fighters' Pass
  21. Even better; for the victory screen, get rid of the announcer entirely and just have the choir shout his name.
