  1. i wasn't sure where to put these, so i guess i'll borrow some space from here. anyway, here's a couple of gifts from me( yet again :P ). hopefully they'll be enough for the time being. Β» ToS logo(rebooted) Β» ToS logo clean version Β» main screen concept(prototype)
  2. the thing is, i'd rather prefer to wield swords over lances, so at this point it might be better to just swap the unit's class to something else. Hero would be my main alternative, if not available due to class restrictions yet again, then Swordmaster as last choice. as for the Dragon weapons, if they're actually unique weapons, then i'm more than fine with the sword. at first i thought it was something similar to the Wyrm Slayer swords from FE games, but i guess it's a different thing in this case. then Mid-Game it is. i'm also fine with being paired with Pengaius due to plot development. about conversations, if your character will join in late-game, then Von will probably be a better choice. if not even Von will be available, then the main Lord will do. also, i don't know if it's doable in SRPG Studio, but i was thinking about convos in FE4/FE5 style, wich means eventually getting stats boosts/items in case there's a chance to do so. that's just something beyond recruitment convos though, wich would be more of a support thing instead with your/Von's character. however, since it's not a priority, i'll just leave the idea there for now. the Beach map will be more than fine. the idea of having the Dragon sword hidden somewhere would be very nice, as it could also be an alternative reason for my unit to be deployed in that map( rather than getting a book with secrets about FE titles from the enemy client, i would get a scroll with the secret location of the sword instead ). in that case, i'd like to start with a Levin sword, since i would have to search for the Dragon sword eventually. however, if it turns out to be too much work in terms of gameplay mechanics, then just let me start with the Dragon sword only and we can go back to my previous unit's plot. as for base stats, i'll put both alternatives: growths: finally, to resume: guess that's all for now.
  3. it's been a while since my last time around here, but i have to say it's nice to see that the old project is still going somehow. guess i'll resume some old infos and give a hand: Character Application Open Positions: - Wielder of "Dragon Sword": i'd like for my unit to be the owner, but i'd also like to have some more infos regarding the item before taking any final decision( since i had/still have my own ideas as well ) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Template Character Name: Fenreir Forum Name: Fenreir Class: Great General, or eventually General in case of playable units/class restrictions. Affiliation: Protagonist, enemy recruit. Recruitment: see below. Recruitment Time: Mid-Game, or eventually Late-Game in case of playable units/class restrictions. Face Portrait: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Notes: - Main weapon setup: Magic sword( example: Levin sword ) that can be dropped after defeat, and/or Silver sword( a Brave sword would be better, but i'm not sure if it's available due to weapon rank restrictions ). - Items to drop: Promotion Crest. - Items to steal: Elixir, Antidote. - Personal Skills(in order of preference): Luna, Wrath, Charismaο»Ώ. or, based on the current skills setup: Charm, Defiance, Sol. - Character backstory: a veteran FE player, with good knowledge about many FE titles. he wanders the lands of Serenia in search for knowledge and secrets, and wishes to complete the entire FE franchise one day. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Route 1(Mid-Game): currently hired by -other user/main chapter boss- , wich promised to give him a unique book filled with "never found secrets" about FE games from the SNES and GBA era in exchange for his service as seasoned tactician/warrior. truth is, -other user/main chapter boss- was just using him to defeat his/her enemies, and would eventually try to get rid of him as well due to his ties with Serenia. Unit details: a unit surrounded by a group of Knights that will stand still at the start of the chapter, but will eventually move and attack anyone who gets in their range, or after a certain number of turns has passed. Can be recruited? yes, but only by other specific characters. 1~2 units max: Sire and/or Von. the talk would be about hidden secrets in Serenia with Von(signature weapon), and the "Gotoh" role/purpose with Sire(the talk would be about the conflict in Serenia). Map type: desert oasis/beach map. hidden treasures can be found around the map, one of wich would be Fenreir's signature weapon "Arcane blade"(a type of magic sword, basicly a renamed Levin Sword. or something similar to the Fire sword from FE5 with +5 MGC bonus when equipped. or even better, something similar to the Earth sword from FE4/5 with Resire effect). Map example: notes: the secret signature weapon i mentioned before would be hidden in a spot near the oasis in case of a desert map, or near the sea in case of a beach map. Main battle quote: "You wish to challenge me? ...careful what you wish for." Death quote: "Damn...not bad...not bad at all..." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Route 2(Late-Game) : -other user- told him that the enemy army was trying to conquer all lands of Serenia in order to destroy its knowledge. after learning about the situation, he decided to move out with a band of knights to defend his castle/map. tricked by -other user-, instead of fighting against the main enemy army, he was about to cross swords with -Protagonist- group. Unit details: as main chapter boss, he's waiting in a throne room for the player's group to show up. Can be recruited? yes, but only by other specific characters. 2 units in this chapter: Sire and Von. both units need to speak with Fenreir in order to recruit him. the talk would be about the truth behind the conflict in Serenia with both Sire and Von. On a side note: they already knew each other's tales due to all of them being part of an old project...(4th wall stuff). after being recruited, all remaining enemy Knights/Generals in the map will turn into friendly NPC allies and start attacking available enemies. Map type: a castle on an island in the middle of a lake. can be reached either by flying, in case flying units can trasport allies, or a bridge can be unlocked by thieves/keys. enemy reinforcements will show up from the castle in case the bridge is unlocked. in this map, Fenreir will be already equipped with his signature weapon Arcane blade. Map example: Main battle quote: "Such pride in those eyes of yours. Let us see if it can match your strength." Death quote: "So this is where i fall...Serenia...i've failed you..."
  4. i had to "pause" my God Eater 2 Rage Burst run due to Code Vein being almost around the corner along with other factors. wich means i'm currently in standby. plus, Death Stranding will be coming out in a couple of months, so i guess the God Eater saga will be put on hold for a good while. at least i managed to fully complete once again the first title, so that's a start. besides, there's also Daemon X Machina, Astral Chain, FE 3H...there's literally no end to the games i can play. i'm also playing the last chapters of FE Thracia 776, after that i'll probably move on to the GBA titles once more. however, between fall and winter, there's probably more chances i'll be locked on my PS4 rather than playing with emulators on cellphone.
  5. Remaster: - The Legend of Dragoon: timeless classic JRPG for PSOne; - Vagrant Story: an obscure and unique JRPG from good old SquareSoft; - Xenogear: yet another classic JRPG from Square. as for remakes, at the moment i don't have any title in mind that really needs a complete remake. rather, there's more titles that could and should be remastered from the PSOne era onward, such as Parasite Eve or The Bouncer.
  6. to be honest, it's probably THE best anime fighting game in terms of graphics quality an animations. there's literally no other anime fighting game on the market that has the same visuals, except maybe for Granblue Fantasy Versus( wich is always from ArcSys ). Maximilian Dood also covered both the previous and the new trailer, but overall after what they did and achieved with Xrd -Sign- and -Rev 2-, i think it's going to be an amazing game in both visuals and gameplay. also, the cinematic effects on stage shift/special moves are nuts. there's so much work put into motion blur and particle effects it's crazy.
  7. while they are indeed remakes, they're not exactly the same thing as the originals. the graphics and music difference is obvious, however the remakes have been changed by adding new mechanics that were not included in the original games, plus there's also new plots and background stories in NM / Echoes that were not present in the originals. they're more like reinventions, rather than remakes in the true sense of the word(wich is what normally would be considered a remastered version of a game, with better graphics and eventually some reworked features - see Final Fantasy XII: the Zodiac Age). basicly, each remake is a thing on its own. as for the "value" of playing FE 1-3, it all boils down to the reason of doing so. some people do it because they like retro games, others do it because they're curious about the origins of the FE franchise. then again, while emulation and fanmade patches solved the language barrier issue, not everyone is willing(or capable) to do so, therefore they're still titles that can be considered "restricted" for some people, in the sense that they were not available for everyone unlike the remakes(NM excluded since it was an exclusive for Japan). overall, i think FE 3 is probably the best retro experience you can get out of the originals, simply because it's overall better gameplay-wise and also has double the content of the original FE 1. it also aged pretty well during the years, as all other SNES titles did, and it feels like playing a GBA game. i would suggest playing FE 1 only if you're really curious about it and want to see how it all started back in '87, just to gain some gaming culture from the NES days. otherwise, if you can't really stand clunky gameplay systems, barebone pixel graphics and chiptune music, then it might be better to just avoid it.
  8. currently available, there's plenty of games. titles like Octopath Traveler and FE 3H should already be worth of notice, then there's Oninaki, Astral Chain and Daemon X Machina coming up in the next months.
  9. if you already played with previous titles, Awakening will be pretty much a walk in the park even on hard mode. some of the most challenging maps will show up post-game, with Priam's map being probably one of the hardest. otherwise, you can use Einherjar cards and summon characters from past games to fight with. depending on when/where you summon them, some battles can be quite entertaining.
  10. you're not alone. i tend to buy games on release date to avoid the risk of loosing them later on, and meanwhile save up money for other things. once there's something like Black Friday deals or christmas sales, then i go buy whatever console i want at a lowered price. however, i'm not really in need of new consoles at the moment. i own an original PS2, PS3, PS4, Nintendo DS, 3DS and Wii. plus, i've got NES, SNES and GBA emulated on smartphone( something else like GameCube/Wii emulators will probably end up on my computer as well, since i can't find original copies of FE Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn anywhere), so overall i've got my library of games covered well(my collection of titles has pretty much about...20 years as of now). there's only a Nintendo Switch missing that i'll probably buy by the end of the year, after that i'll be finally done for good with collecting consoles/games until the next generation.
  11. i could have included more weapons, but then it would've become a way longer list, so i picked just the few ones i think stand out the most. then again, one thing is taking their stats/bonuses as they are. another is including skill builds, wich give way more options and make some weapons more viable than before. long story short: it all depends on playstyle. even Dual weapons can kill enemy units if used properly.
  12. you should probably try out DeviantArt and/or other websites dedicated to art in general. this forum isn't exactly the best for sharing your artworks(i play with sprites as well sometimes), and most people will just take a look without giving feedback. overall, i think your sprites are fine. probably more detailed and polished compared to other spriters i've seen before.
  13. he could have been hiding in Silesia the whole time. after all, even Sigurd have been helped by the Silesian Queen when he was being hunted down by Grandbell.
  14. by default, any weapon that does not give debuffs to the user is already a step forward compared to the others. then there's those that give stats boosts to the unit/allies, wich can be used as alternative rally skills. then again, if you want "reliable" damage from the weapons themself, you just don't pick Killer weapons or any other rng-based weapon for that matter. you go with Braves for the double attacks, and that's it.
  15. Swordbreaker Hit rate and Avoid +50 when the enemy is equipped with a Sword Axebreaker Hit rate and Avoid +50 when the enemy is equipped with an Axe Lancebreaker Hit rate and Avoid +50 when the enemy is equipped with a Lance Certain Blow When user triggers the battle, Hit rate +40 Heartseeker When fighting adjacent to an enemy, enemy’s Avoid -20 Lucky Seven Hit rate and Avoid +20 for the first seven Turns and i could go on, and on, and on. Breaker skills alone should be more than enough to rebalance the lack of accuracy, then you can slot Certain Blow to increase the chances even further. with the MyCastle feature you can get any skill you want, so feel free to spare me the route-locked skills argument. actually, you can spare me any sort of answer for that matter.
  16. in terms of tactics, if i remember well there's weapons that are based mostly on first attack/counters compared to others wich are more "straight forward" with their uses. going by factions, my list would be: Hoshido Β» Swords: Practice katana Β» Spears: Waterwheel - Guard naginata Β» Clubs: Great club - Adamant club - Hoe club Β» Yumis: Setsuna's yumi - Illusory yumi - Harp yumi Β» Shurikens: Barb shuriken - Caltrop - Kaze's needle - Saizo's star Β» Scrolls: Snake Spirit - Horse Spirit Nohr Β» Swords: Brave sword - Killing Edge - Leo's Iceblade - Nohrian Blade Β» Spears: Brave Lance - Killer Lance - Hexlock Spear Β» Axes: Brave axe - Killer axe Β» Bows: Brave bow - Killer bow - Violin bow - Anna's bow Β» Daggers: Soldier's Knife - Jakob's Tray Β» Tomes: Lightning - Mjolnir - Iago's Tome then again, it all depends on the playstyle/situation. Dual weapons can be viable too if used properly.
  17. he probably went into hiding for a while, until he got word of Sigurd traveling around the continent and getting close to his location. when we see him approaching us, he's probably been gravely wounded while escaping from the enemy army in the current map, so i don't think he's been injured for 2 years.
  18. finally finished God Eater Resurrection for PS4. that took a while, but it's been a fun run nonetheless. i gotta say they did a really good job at improving/expanding the game with new features and story arcs. mixed with the strong nostalgia from the PSP era, the game overall has been way more entertaining and enjoyable than i expected. the only downpoint was the online mode, since that feature is pretty much dead due to the game being a bit old and probably not having an active playerbase like it used to have when it was released. you can still find a couple of people online once in a while, but that's become quite rare. time to say goodbye and move on. it shall rest in my library section of beloved games, among my favorites. about what's coming up next, i plan to play and complete one more chapter of the GE saga before Code Vein gets released in september. i don't know if i'll make it in time, but i'll try anyway. and if i won't make it, guess i'll just leave it in standby for a while. now playing on PS4:
  19. it all depends if you prefer balanced units, or stacked ones. in case of stacked ones: Speed - Sigurd: helpful, but not really needed. Ayra/Fury would profit more from it. Power - Sigurd: helpful, but not really needed. Beowulf would profit more from it. Magic - Azel/Lewyn: both of them are good choices, however it would be wiser to let Azel have it, since Arthur joins way earlier than Sety(chapter 6) and will overall profit more from it. Skill - Beowulf/Ayra: since Lakche/Skasaha will have Noish as father, the Skill ring should stay on either Ayra or even better Noish. that will help Lakche/Skasaha with critical hits, although Astra procs is really all they'll ever need to obliterate enemies. Shield - Tailtiu/Lewyn: not needed at all, better give it to mobile tanks such as Delmud(Beowulf). Barrier - Sigurd: very helpful, especially when stacked with his Crusader weapon. Fury/Fee can also profit from it. Paragon - everyone: Seliph would be the main choice in order to get his mount earlier, followed by Leaf. Return - Quan: not needed at all, it would have been better on healers such as Adean or Lachesis. Leg - Sylvia/Sigurd: both are good choices, but i would say leave it on Sigurd until Seliph gets his horse, then you can sell it to Leen. Life - Sigurd/healer/dancer: characters that will eventually get Prayer(Evasion boost) do not work well with Life, same goes for those with Ambush(Vantage). better give it to warriors/tanks. Seliph can also get an extra Life ring by doing a secret event. Prayer - any second gen: Lakche, Sety and/or Shanan+Balmung can break the game with Prayer. Pursuit - Ethlyn: better give it to someone who have a Hero(Brave) weapon but does not have Pursuit, or any other offensive unit that lacks Pursuit. both Leaf/Altenna will get Pursuit eventually regardless of having the Pursuit ring. also, i'll leave this here to give some more infos. it would be better if you check it once you complete the game, unless you don't mind having 2nd gen units spoiled:
  20. if i understood right, in terms of unit's strength: [fathers - warriors] Fin - Lex - Holyn [fathers - mages] Levin - Azel - Claude [childs - warriors] Lakche - Leaf - Altenna [childs - mages] Sety - Tinny
  21. welcome to the club. i've been doing a marathon as well for a while(it's still in progress), and i can guarantee you it will take time indeed, especially if you never played the older titles. i hope you're mentally prepared for resets, because i can guarantee you those will happen soon or later, especially in the first two NES games. Gaiden can potentially break your mind once you reach the desert map on Celica's route, so good luck with that. you'll find an interesting difference once you move to the SNES games, but that's a story for another time.
  22. while we're at it, you might want to check these as well, just to get some more ideas: as for the topic itself: - Sigurd x Deirdre(canon); - Cuan x Ethlin(canon); - Midir x Adean: Pursuit + Brave bow inheritance. enough said. | Jamka x Adean: mainly for the Killer/Brave bow inheritance; - Lex x Ira: more tactical options, easier to level up. | Holyn x Ira: for dedicated swordfighter builds, along with some backstory for Holyn; - Holyn x Brigid: Patty really needs that starting B rank in swords, along with Luna; - Beowulf x Lachesis: mainly for Pursuit due to a more reliable damage ouput. | Noish x Lachesis: mainly for Critical. it's basicly an alternative build that relies more on RNG to deal damage; - Levin x Fury: for some of the most broken child units in the game. Sety's Speed levels will skyrocket, along with criticals. Fee will become the bane of mages; - Azel x Tiltyu: Pursuit + Wrath is a deadly combination. | Lex x Tiltyu: a build based on risky play. somehow more tactical, but also less reliable on basic damage output; - Dew x Sylvia: Leen could benefit from Sol, and Corple from Bargain. | Alec x Sylvia: just to avoid getting critted to oblivion and beyond due to Awareness. guess that's all.
  23. i'm playing the last chapters of Thracia 776 on my phone, while doing the remaining post-game challenge missions in God Eater Resurrection on PS4. if there's someone else playing GER as well, i may be able to give some help with story missions or anything else since i don't have much left to do anyway. currently waiting for Code Vein in September.
