To be fair though, basically everyone in this game (including enemies) has higher bases than their obvious original-game equivalents. Like, Renair's bases are comparable to like a lv. 8 or so Lyn, Chester would make Matt and even Legault look pretty bad if he landed in Elibe, etc. This sounds weird to me. Like "hi I'm Juan and I 2HKO stuff and can take a few hits and also I'm a flier and in the final game I'll have good availability, I'm decent I guess".

Legacy characters are the ones that come from other games in the series (I'm fuzzy on details but you can get them on your team via Spotpass/Streetpass/DLC, as well as other peoples' MUs). If you got an S support then you married them, pretty much that simple.

You'd think that if NoJ wanted this to be pushed in the first place, they'd have given you a fuckton more customization options and a hair palette that isn't mostly freaky animu colours. Anyway. 31 here. Not going anywhere. Who's the 36+ person in the poll?

Nobody cares what you use to do the hacking, they care what you hack. That said, Nightmare can't get you very far beyond a reskin, and... what Marky said. Worry about how to make a game first before you worry about what people want in it, and worry about practicing your skills hacking together individual pieces of things before you try to make a game. Yes things like "balance" are important for making an enjoyable hack but a tech demo >>>>>>>>>> nothing at all. You're not going to get very far in hacking with that attitude towards doing stuff in general. Also generic "that was awesome" comments don't really add very much. That's an archive file. You need to unzip it. 7-zip is recommended; WinRAR should also work. After that you are going to need to make sure you have Java properly installed and set up, and read the documentation files to understand how to actually run the program and what you can do with it. (Also there are a bunch of tutorials in sticky threads around here) If that isn't enough information for you then you need to learn more about how computers work before you try to learn hacking. Really accomplished hackers have been at this for years. I was able to pick things up a lot more quickly than most, but that's because I already had about 20 years of assorted computer programming experience under my belt.

Misspelled Kelik imho. Later chapters so much easier when he can take the point and the rest of your team lags behind (and seriously he is godly on 24-27, especially 24... you can clear it before Haas et. al. show up). Also he can insta-use them in that chapter after Althares picks them up and IIRC that saves a turn there too. Also I wouldn't bother with Asch even though you want that map (Logan's is stupid and unnecessary pain and he sucks) because it will cost you turns to recruit him. Just rush Karina to the boss pretty much (don't remember if you need to seize, if so than rescuedrop Anakin obv). Just use Shuuda, he's solid.

The game setup screens like 'would you like to create a tactician' are controlled by events?

Everything before GCN will be a custom bitmapped font. You get it by locating the graphic in the ROM, decompressing LZ77 etc. In some cases there isn't even a font and text, there's just one big bitmap (IIRC, FE6 chapter titles are like this, but FE7 uses actual lettering). That said, it's certainly *possible* to design ttf fonts that *look like* the existing bitmaps, if you use them at the original size. Sounds like a shitload of work, though.

FWIW, when I tried it, entering only worked once, as advertised, but exiting worked twice (I had Juan rescue Chester coming in, then Juan rescue xin'Khen coming out, and Chester successfully left by himself later but couldn't go back). Also I'm pretty sure Lia and Juan can both rescue each other. Also I was really disappointed to find out that out of all those stairwells on the map, there's only that one pair of teleports
