  1. Yeah FEditor really needs to be redone properly Also let's talk more about how this would work, like in PMs and stuff

    FEE3 - 2012

Omg I finally got the stupid joke about diverting more forces to the north. That was horrible.

    FEE3 - 2012

Oh shit oh shit oh shit this is going to be awesome Gah I was going to have a surprise ready for E3 but I ended up never finding time to work on it. So I'll be working on it during the E3 week instead :D
  4. My understanding is that it produces a .sf2 from the instrument samples in the ROM as well as the corresponding .mid files. Every ROM has its own samples, after all.
  5. It's not "doing" anything. That's exactly it. The program has no idea what faces are supposed to look like, and thus cannot reason about how to position the frame. You must tell it where the mouth frame goes. It is using the information that was appropriate for whatever mug was in that slot before. So if it appears in the right spot, hooray, the new mug is similar enough to the old one that the mouth goes in the same place. But some mugs need the frame in a different spot because the mug is drawn differently. The same goes for blinking frames (except FE6 doesn't use blinking frames).
  6. So what are the implications of starting this for DoF? o_O
  7. ZSE is supposed to detect this and handle it, but it doesn't. Shit's harder than it seems.
  8. Igrene x Astol C: At 46s: "and it left left a scar." Also more "DASTARDS LOL" in the B support, might want to tweak that. Also "Slowly, his memory started returning started returning to him." Apparently Igrene stutters a lot.
  9. He also says (not the only C word I can think of, ahem). But really, if profanity like this is a problem then the entire sequence of support conversations is kind of a problem too, considering the basic premise. (Though I don't think it really is, considering, say, FE7 Kent x Fiora.) It could probably be reworded a little, but it runs the risk of sounding a bit twee for a character like Garret. -1 to both of these. Sounding cool and being descriptive >>> faithfulness to the original IMO. Also, why is "Alacalibur" showing up with a ballista icon in FE8?
  10. Because the longer you have a unit around, the more opportunity that unit has to do useful things for you.
  11. Wait, Ch13 is single-turned in the TAS? But I thought Aias doesn't move? I know you have Tethys but I don't see how you clear a path to get Seth adjacent to Aias on PP1... FWIW, I'm pretty sure Ch20 can be 2-turned, and a single-turn for Ch17 has previously been demonstrated. I'm reading your numbers wrong and apparently Horace single-turned Ch20 too. This I have to see. No wonder Myrrh couldn't get enough Exp....
  12. Regarding Miledy... if we're willing to entertain Xyst->Gerik tier transformations, I vote for
  13. To be clear, we're talking about TASing, full RNG abuse and all, yes?
  14. BTW this script is for 2.x and will totally not work with 3.x. Also I will have to show you a couple of stylistic things
  15. Actually I'm pretty sure it was always supposed to, just that I messed it up. Either that or I couldn't figure out how I wanted the UI for it to work.
  16. Because it's really flaky and honestly needs a complete redesign. Ideally once NM3 can insert stuff, it will be possible to make tools along the lines of FEditor, but that just create NM3 data files and such for animations and portraits, instead of doing the actual rip/burn work. For text editing you'd just edit a dump directly. Also like probably at least 3/4 of the outright bugs in it are my fault
  17. Freaky. I searched the ROM for a pointer to that location (0x817510), and only found one, at 0x5c6f40 - nowhere near anything whose purpose is actually documented, AFAIK. Although that region of the ROM does seem to mostly contain pointers (including a bunch of nulls), but the pointers point to all over the place... mostly in the ROM, but there are some things that look like pointers to VRAM, too. Also, the data you're editing is uncompressed (since you can just edit it directly like that), although it indeed looks like what I'd expect for uncompressed FE6 text. (Yes, you should be able to distribute the translation table; the same information is present in, for example, the FEditor source code.) It's as if all the UI text is uncompressed and pointed to directly within some kind of bytecode used to create the UI, while the main text table (pointers to compressed text-data) just covers the story and support convos and stuff? o_O FE6 is weird.
  18. No, it officially doesn't stand for that any more. It works totally differently. It's just nm3 cuz that's a cool name for something.
  19. I meant the mugs. And I see, you're taking what you can get, but still sorting for quality, cool.
  20. o_O Has it been tested on device though? Is there source available?
  21. That's... kinda what nm3 is? Except that there will be a bunch of totally separate tools on the side to handle *creating* data; nm3 is for extracting and inserting stuff. The big problem with FEditor is that it tried to be this monolithic thing that handles both sides of that and also takes over managing your freespace with information that's actually in the ROM that causes problems for every other tool and vice versa. The nm3 approach is that you create content with totally separate tools (or extract something with nm3 and use totally separate tools to modify it) and then insert it with nm3. Freespace management is still an issue but I'm planning to have it record information in a separate file. (The design is a little tricky because nm3 is meant to be more than just a hacking tool.)
  22. Ok so like Just how shitty are you looking for here Are we talking like "just throw a bunch of noobs at it", or are we talking like "putting in deliberate effort to be bad"?
  23. I totally know Alys Brangwin's measurements, including the part the dude doesn't get to say
