  3. Sorry, when I said failure I meant in a more large-scale sense. Not like failure to achieve the coveted X turn count completion, but failure to complete the chapter without a failure that causes a substantial impact on future strategy, like someone dies, that bandit gets to a village that has a promotion item you were counting on, etc. Also yeah, you can't always have an exactly 100% chance of even ever eventually doing some things, but the chance can get so high that it's essentially 100%.

  7. Man, I wish more games had communities like this. Hardc0re gameplay analysis and discussion. On topic, a few days ago someone said something to this effect to me. that FE tier lists nowadays are based on crazily low turn count speed runs that sometimes aren't even probable. He took a different approach to the solution, though, that I didn't really agree with, saying that it shouldn't be based on turn count at all but instead on being as reliable as possible, with just a vague idea of there being something to limit turtling. My only point of disagreement was that I think it takes a lot more than just a vague something to eliminate turtling as a problem. So basically my solution is the same as that in the first post: low turn count with no risk of failure. But I don't think that's anything new. Isn't that what people did years ago? Or I could be mistaken.

  11. dunno if this counts as mechanics, but FE1-10: 58 billion difficulty modes like FE11 has FE9: FE10's animations off FE9/10 mostly: toggle for double/triple speed enemy phase map movement and unit turning and such FEall: better/different AI for different chapters and difficulty modes. Like if the enemy is a trained mercenary group or something, they should behave differently than a bunch of bandits, for example. And better AI on harder modes might be cool.

  16. I played through FE7 and 9 like 3-4 times each iirc. 1.7 times for FE10. and then never quite reached the end of 4/6/8. stopping midway through the second to last chapter ftw

  18. because you won't be taking counterattacks, won't be using any rare weaponry, will succeed 100% of the time, and one or both of the other two are free to attack other units
  19. Also, I dunno guys. I think the triangle attack deserves serious consideration. You say lol fielding three combat failures, but are they really? When you can pull off one or two OHKs per turn. OHKing paladins and heroes at 100% accuracy (give Wendy a lolsteel lance for extra damage and have no worries about missing) sounds rather nice to me. as well as any boss open to attack on three sides (like every indoor map).

  21. Anyone play/played FETO? Just thought I'd ask, since I do, and I think it's pretty cool, and having more people to play against would also be cool. (edit: It's "FEPlanet's online player vs. player Fire Emblem game!" Like FE, but balanced to work for PvP) ALSO WHERE DOES THIS TOPIC GO? IT'S FIRE EMBLEM BUT IT'S NOT.
