  1. Hmm... well, FF14 right now has held my interest better than any MMO in a long time. It's surprisingly good even with the story. Probably a somewhat controversial choice, if FF8 was only the first two discs with some other conclusion, it would be my favourite. Otherwise, I think I'd pick 7. It may be a cliche pick but I actually like how many crazy things there are to do along the course of the story. Meanwhile, I do like 6 but it has some janky moments that make it really hard to progress through the main story, like trying to learn Sabin's Blitz command without a guide.
  2. I'm so in love with FF right now... minus the abomination that is FF13, it's just not even funny... So I doodled by FF14 character after work.
  3. It's cute and now it's a POSTER WHOO *edit oops a screen layer went awry*
  4. I'm around, just... working a lot... lots of WIPs and sketches and stuff I guess.
  5. My order got cancelled and I am so upset. I am still getting Ness as far as I know and they offered me 20% off any other Amiibo but the ones I want that I don't have are also unicorns :/ my local store is only getting one of Robin and Lucina and even though I was in early, I wasn't the first order. Sigh.
  6. I just want to see, in general, more moves hook up into each other for actual combos. Is Diddy's easy combo really a big issue, or is it that the rest of the cast doesn't really have a good way to keep an opponent juggled when they get a chance? Right now it's incredibly hard to get a good combo chain on a punish on *any* character. If anything, everyone else should rise to Diddy and Sheik's level rather than nerf them so no one has good follow-ups. I don't necessarily want it to Melee or Project M levels of speed but it's so hard to chase down KOs in this game... I think the characters who suffered the most from the lack of follow-ups is Marth/Lucina. No more double fair, disjointed hitbox is now beat out by a much larger portion of the cast, and endlag on moves makes any wiff (and even hits!) incredibly punishable. I have a better combo game on Jiggs... Also, no more helpless state on Din's Fire on Zelda. Please. PLEASE, is that so much to ask for?!
  7. Ness has come and gone... they opened online orders on Thursday. I'm not sure if they took in-store pre-orders on Thursday in the US but they held off until Friday in Canada. There is a possibility of them offering restock preorders/getting more stock before launch like Shulk though.
  8. It'd be a bit spoilery for Link, but... [spoiler=Link Between Worlds spoilers] Why not a proper Ravio palette? Preferably for Toon Link because he's closer to the right proportions and Link already has Fierce Deity and a Skyward Sword-like tunic. I'd also like to see some alt costumes for both Ike and Marth, since Lucina gets such amazing palette swaps. And proper shiny palettes for all the Pokemon, since none of them really properly reference their existing in-game alts. I think Charizard and Pikachu rep the Pokemon Stadium variations more. I want Jigglypuff's green bandana alt back too...
  9. I called EB Games yesterday after their site overloaded and wouldn't let me order anything, then they told me to come in store the next day as they didn't have any preorders open the day I called. Today I casually walked in, they told me their whole list of inventory (no Jiggs available especially that THERE IS NO TARGET IN CANADA sigh) and I happily preordered Ness, Lucina, and Robin. Jiggs is the last on my list that I want so I'm upset it's a Target exclusive after the Rosalina fiasco. Out of all the exclusives Shulk has had multiple preorder/restock opportunities despite being the most niche of the exclusives...
  10. I'd like her but that is super spoilers like holy wow. I voted for Isaac because he has a huge amount of potential for a unique moveset and Golden Sun really should be repped, fate of the series be damned. But I also kind wanted Guillo from Baten Kaitos Origins (Nintendo published!), Fiora from Xenoblade, and maybe even a Final Fantasy character from the SNES RPG golden age like Cecil, Rydia, Terra, or even the Onion Knight (or Faris but that probably would never happen).
  11. Law in SMT is basically a highly structured and tiered society at the expense of personal freedom and expression. You are where you are, unchanging forever. Chaos is all about survival of the fittest rather than a lack of structure but with a chance for anyone to obtain power and rule over others. Considering how Medeus operates he could definitely be a Chaos rep, having conquered the other Earth Dragons and attempting to rule over the world by force. Though Radiant Dawn's Ashera and Ashnard probably exemplify Law and Chaos the most in SMT respectively. Though I don't see where any traditional SMT or Fire Emblem stuff comes in with that trailer yet... I guess I'll have to wait to see more but so far I could have mistaken the game for Conception. I reeeaaaally hope this isn't just some otaku game but it was pretty alienating to watch.
  12. My computer was giving me issues for months and I only just got it fixed so now I have a huge pile of commissions to catch up on aaaa
  13. Shadowrun: Dragonfall is a lighter SRPG. You have turn based combat on a grid that transitions organically into encounters but you have some leeway to roleplay your way into or out of some combat situations. While not super strict about positioning there are elements of taking cover and different paths you can take your character, either by being a specialist in close-quarters combat, guns, hacking, controlling drones, spellcasting, or even smooth-talking your way through the game. It does focus on your player made character the most but there are some party members to control as well. This was originally an expansion for Shadowrun Returns but they made it a standalone game because the two campaigns were totally disconnected and Dragonfall is superior in pretty much every way. Bonus, the games go on sale all the time because it's an indie PC game so you can frequently find it for $10 or less.
  14. I've been busy with work and someday you'll get to see some of the stuff I worked on... in like a year. Yay TV production! But here's a bunch of stuff. Kind of rough and/or just goofy stuff.
  15. I think the Amiibos basically just represent a character token so every figure of the same character will do the same thing in every supported game. There's so little data to work with in the NFC chips that they probably just have a name flag inside.
  16. I'm glad it helped! It looks really good and has come a long way since you started.
  17. Well the whole "WHY DOESN'T GANONDORF USE HIS SWORD?" came from Melee itself. Ganondorf has a sword modeled that he pulls out for victory poses. THAT confused a lot of people and made people wish he had the sword usable as a weapon. Then TP Ganondorf replaced the OoT design and taunted players even harder. At least SSB4 kind of rectified the situation... sort of. But by this point everyone is used to Ganondorf being a heavy bruiser variant of Captain Falcon so he'll never really change by this point.
  18. The first three Persona games (1 and 2:IS and 2:EP) had you fighting demons already. And you did negotiate with demons too. However this looks a bit more action RPG than straight turn based combat. In a way it reminds me of the direction FFXV is taking, but in the world of a Persona game.
  19. In FE6 I just voted Niime, can't really go wrong with those bases. FE7 I voted Priscilla as her bases and horse are great, usually Serra will not be that great by the time Priscilla joins. I would say Pent but ultimately I treat Pent more like a combat unit than having him be dedicated into staff use, so usually he'll just toss a physic someone's way though he is very, very good. In FE8 I WANT to say L'arachel but that's only for post game, in which case I went with Natasha since I never have good luck (literally in both ways) with the Boulder's growths and he gets magic screwed every time.
  20. I sent you a PM. I hope it helps! It was just a quick draw-over so maybe you can see what I had changed. It's just a guideline, but I think you have an opportunity to really enhance the depth of the picture too even if you just changed the arm a little bit. You're so close!
  21. I think it's just the shoulder and the elbow. Make the forearm lines overlap more and then the shoulder armor should... Well, I'm bad at explaining but it probably shouldn't be jutting off to the side like i t is now. When I have all my stuff after moving I can draw an example.
  22. I meant the knee itself, the one that needs to be fixed anyway. I'd just put the kneepad on top and it should look OK. As for the arm, it just needs to be more in-line with his face in some way. It's far off to the side right now but he needs to have his thumb in his eye line by either turning his head or moving his hand. Since he probably wants to look forward from a logic standpoint, it means you should move his arm so his hand is more in front of his body. And his eye direction should then be staring up and off into the distance, since he's kneeling. He just doesn't seem as focused as he could be right now. I know it's a big undertaking but hopefully you'll consider it. It will require foreshortening though so you might want to try this out in a mirror, or if you have a camera with a self-timer (most do), put it somewhere where you can take a picture of yourself for reference.
  23. ' My Ike has a bit of Bendnell going on... but at least he arrived!
  24. I think your issue isn't so much proportion, but rather the position of the shoulders and hips. His torso is a bit too "straight". Also, the overlap of the leg bending is breaking the perspective a bit (the leg reads short as a result but if you changed the way the kneecap was drawn it wouldn't seem that bad), as is the wrist of the hand he's holding out to measure. My suggestion would be to raise the arm he's measuring with (in life drawing you're typically lower than the model, so you need to look upwards) and also to move it more inward to the body, so match the direction his face is towards. Then move the knee to be more inward to his body and match the angle of his foot. With the arm more centered, he'll feel more balanced and dynamic. I know pauldrons (the shoulder armor) are tricky to draw in perspective like that though.
