  1. Yeah, I wanted it to look like a bunch of cutouts since I just quickly cleaned up a sketch that got a bit cruddy. Turned out pretty nice. And here's a painting I did for my Shadowrun group... the guy who hired them in my one-off campaign that I GMed for my Saturday in-person group.
  2. Blehhh I love work but it leaves me with so little energy to do my own thing, here's a bunch of rough sketches I did manage to plop out. Lately I'm addicted to paper... probably because all day I'm on the computer cleaning up other people's drawings. I'm not even home to scan most of these! Some of these included some blocks of text to accompany them as I got into OC talk. http://xyrafhoan.tumblr.com/post/109285395425/two-characters-alike-but-different http://fhoantells.tumblr.com/post/109379549222/how-do-i-hold-all-these-ocs
  3. On the other hand, if you live in Canada, Target announced they were closing up shop completely. Over 100 stores, gone. I have no idea how people in Canada will get Rosalina unless the exclusivity deal is rescinded north of the border. We also never got a chance for Shulk preorders from Gamestop either. Getting your hands on any "rare" amiibo beyond a lucky preorder through Amazon seems impossible... the store exclusives are a nightmare.
  4. Or they had started on modeling Chrom expecting him to be the playable character, only to switch in Robin when they thought Chrom was too similar to Marth/Ike in their early planning phase. We know Lucina was originally just a Marth costume as well, made into her own character at the last minute. I don't think Gematsu was entirely wrong (after all, Wii Fit Trainer would have been a nearly impossible guess), but that the developers changed the roster a few times mid-development as they came up with better ideas or that some ideas would not pan out (complex partner AIs eg Ice climbers and probably also the Chorus Men)
  5. I'm veering back into totally sfw-stop-embarrassing-yourself-Samias territory again for the sake of everyone's sanity ha ha ha...
  6. It's also actually a rumour that Marth's sword is any shorter from Brawl. As it turns out, it's the same length, but the active hitboxes left from the swing are more accurate to the shape of the sword in Smash 4 and Marth may not step forward physically as far. But in reality he actually might have more reach in certain situations than Brawl as his disjoint remains largely the same/better. http://smashboards.com/threads/marth-data.379064/ That said, Marth is still nerfed, especially in the grabs and aerials, but considering how powerful his tipper is, I don't think he's in a terrible place. Not Melee good, but after the initial knee-jerk reaction to "OMG NERFED MARTH" at the Smash4 Invitational, people have found Marth's early KO power and ability to obliterate shields with ease not so bad after all.
  7. There's been debate on Pokemon Stadium 2 because while the wind physics in Brawl made the stage nearly unplayable, the stage effects were noticeably toned down in Smash 4's physics engine. The wind and treadmill stages are less obtrusive than before. But then again they could have settled on a ban by now, but it was definitely debated and not an outright ban. I think it exists in the same shaky it's-not-horrible-but-it's-reaching state that Rainbow Ride (Melee) and Halberd are in. (I am aware Rainbow Ride is now banned but it was once upon a time tourney legal. Same with Pokefloats)
  8. In competitive play, Pilotwings is banned due to being too campy. Certain small characters can hide in little nooks in the plane that make them hard to approach. Jigglypuff and Pikachu for example have a huge advantage on that stage. Smashville is the "most neutral" stage according to most pro Smashers, as the single platform makes things more difficult to camp and helps with approaches, but it moves so they don't always have the advantage. Next would probably be Battlefield. Yoshi's Island and Town & City are not too bad though. Regular FD is usually replaced by omega Palutena's Temple because it resembles the FD platform more than some other omega configurations with an extremely neutral BG that lessens distractions. Castle Siege, Lylat Cruise, Delfino Plaza, Wuhu Island, Skyloft, and Pokemon Stadium 2 are usually tourney legal counterpick stages, but swing the battle more heavily in favour of one character over another. There's a lot of debate over omega stages. They're usually played as a counterpick but it turns out stages with grass actually change the ground physics noticeably and some omega form variations do feature partial or full grass coverage. It's not *exactly* like playing FD all the time so I think there will eventually even be a list of acceptable omega forms though an FD stage ban will ban every omega. Possibly. I don't think this will be entirely figured out until a few more major tournaments pass by.
  9. Tauroneo is great part 1, good enough in part 2, but his slow exp gain, low availability and general (heh) inability to get around the battlefield means he's just kind of... there. Honestly I feel the difference between him and Brom is not that high, but Gatrie is like Ike 2 as far as combat ability is concerned. You can't compare Tauroneo with Elincia; like others have said, she has a free infinite brave sword with defense boosts, has staff utility, flies, and she's even already 3rd class. Bad availability too but she does different things and she does them pretty well.
  10. This almost ended up a bit... um... different. Sorry. *run away*
  11. The Pac-Man thing is no big deal for competitive play but it should be patched out regardless. Thankfully the execution is harder than it looks and it's just a boring stall tactic that many projectile characters can counteract, especially Pikachu. Also Little Mac might have that air combo going for them in competitive online play but I think Mii Brawler has an easier time doing the same early top-of-screen KO. Mii Brawler is high tier in Japan based on tourney results because of that.
  12. Sometimes I'm super ADD so I was at work and tired of working on my scene so I scribbled this :D;
  13. I had a weird PS3 hangup a few months ago. It would power on and do absolutely nothing, though I could eject the disc. It started working mysteriously the next day as if nothing had happened, so try giving it time?
  14. I love the Disgaea art... one of my classmates does it better though when he wants to colour like that. (by the way he's amazing and you should all look at his stuff) Aw thanks! Every merchant aaaaalways stuffs their cart full of flowers. It's like a tradition! They still cost only 1z so it's amazing~ I decided to stuff in ores and the cart boost poring too because that's the smith life! Here's a bunch of versions of the same picture because each one has something different to offer... my computer exploded so I never got to do the clean-up and colouring job I wanted to do ;_; Edit: One more try... just because.
  15. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33988813/2014-12-31.jpg My Captain Falcon Amiibo arrived in the mail today! It's been hell trying to find any 2nd wave ones in store other than Zelda, so I was happy to see this arrive today. Even with a couple painting goofs it looks great anyway.
  16. P2 has the best story of the games, really like how they handled a split timeline and I find the characters in P2:EP a bit more adventurous than later outings. But gameplay wise, Persona 4 is a big improvement. I wish the older games could be redone on the new engine instead of slightly prettied up ports of the originals, though at least P2PSP did fix the menus up to be a bit less wonky.
  17. Haha. My favourite moment was when the divine cross came out and I bought one ASAP... it was bugged and gave me 190 aspd no matter what so I put it on my monk and would use mental strength and drag around mobs and then help kill them under ME with my priesty tag-along. I finished another commission!
  18. Well, TP Zelda might not be your favourite but doesn't she also work with Hyrule Warriors to give her another weapon? Have you given that a shot? I agree that the Zelda figurine is just ok. It's one of the ones where all the little details got a bit blocky although the dress itself is quite nice.
  19. I can't even imagine what that did to your aspd. Did it divide by zero and wrap around or was it abysmally slow?
  20. Thankfully I had a set of wizard gear which is all novice wearable plus a high-upgraded blade to use, then orcish axes. Always gotta be prepared for those things B)
  21. Merry Christmas everyone!
  22. I have another half but it might be too saucy for the forums even under the cut. Maybe. It's on my tumblr so I guess I'll just leave it at that. As a substitute here are some REALLY OLD RO COMICS I FOUND HOLY MOLY this stuff is from 2007 @_@
  23. I don't know anything about Clip Note Studio. I use a combination of Photoshop 7/CS2 (I kinda open up whatever since I have both) and Paint Tool SAI and sometimes Sketchbook Pro. It's really personal preference there as they have different specialties, strengths, and weaknesses. As for a tablet, Wacom's products are much more durable and sturdy-feeling even at the Bamboo level, but you really want to look at the Intuos line for a really quality piece of tech. Going with Wacom means going for a workhorse that should serve you well over many, many years to justify the price tag. If you are extremely casual, look at the Monoprice or Huein line of tablets. You might even be able to get a tablet PC screen for cheap. The have fine digitizers if you hunt for the right model (you need to be picky and look for reviews). However they will always feel cheap in the hand, wear down faster and require batteries in the tablet pen. It isn't a dealbreaker for home use unless you seriously draw all the time. If you're looking at Wacom, getting used older models is a decent middle ground. They typically hold up well and you can shave maybe 30-50% of the price off the unit. You might have to buy replacement pen nibs though, but those aren't too expensive.
  24. Unless you buy second hand, Rosalina will never be on Amazon unfortunately, at least in North America. Along with Shulk, Meta Knight, Lucario, and potentially Toon Link (?) these guys all have exclusive retailers.
  25. Bards sing! Bards do all sorts of things: play music, write poems, tell epic stories, the D&D variety even uses inspirational magic. Shakespeare is known as The Bard. The music theme was evident but calling him a bard just makes him seem so poetic. Sorry if that's what you weren't going for, though, but he looks like he'd fit the role well.
