  1. But I see no nearby lance enemies? How about including a scripted battle with a Lolider having 0 hit?
  2. Ugh! Female Archers are the worst! Terrible move. Terrible bases. Unable to switch to Hunter which would have granted a desperately needed +1 strength, +2 speed, +1 move. Personal bases are blah. Personal growths are blah. Switching to any other class means her weapon rank dropping down to E which is too ridiculous to deal with at this point. The ONLY positive thing I can say is that she is better than Bantu... maybe. 1/10
  3. According to this site, Silencer has its activation rate halved on bosses: http://www.serenesforest.net/fe8/skill.htm (Look at the notes section towards the top) So, using Assassin Colm against Riev could take quite a few resets. Also, Riev is pretty durable. An Audhulma user needs 24 Strength to kill Riev in 2 whacks. Probably the easiest way to one-round Riev is to use Ephraim with 20 strength (his average at level 20/3-4) + Siegmund.
  4. But to be honest, I do recruit Cormag. Then I kill the boss immediately - I don't stick around for Pablo's party.
  5. Three Ridersbane can be bought in the chapter 11 secret shop. BECK MUST DIE!!! Eh, Cain/Frey may not have an incredible start, but got the potential and huge amounts of exp to gain in the midgame. Probably helps there so many other characters in this game that are quite disheartening in comparison. But hey, this is the same playthrough where I used Cord, so take it for what's it worth. Heh. Bleh.
  6. I hate going Eirika route because it means I never get to recruit Cormag! NEVER!!!
  7. Yeah, that's pretty much what I was getting at. I don't promote Colm - not like he's getting to level 10 in the first place.
  8. Additionally! The end story scene differs based on how long you took. Normal: Everyone is awake and alert. Slow: Half-closed eyes on the mugs. Characters not entirely focused. Very Slow: Everyone has closed eyes and you entertained by an engaging dialogue of "Zzzzzzz" Okay, okay. This is all amusing but not really serious. To be more serious, the fog-of-war condition can be applied when night rolls around. To compensate, the player can have Matthew and make a Torch item and Torch staff for Serra available somewhere. Seems like a reasonable idea to me.
  9. Oh, Astrid can also put out fires in 3-9, right? Or at least some of them. I think the houses on the upper most ledges require Marcia. Been awhile since I played Radiant Dawn.
  10. Also, Rogue Colm doesn't come for "free" exactly. He requires an Ocean Seal which we could have sold for 5000G which is enough to buy 16 Chest Keys or 1 Unlock staff and 11 Chest Keys - more than plenty for our opening needs especially when enemies continue to drop both Door/Chest Keys later on too.
  11. The Ridersbane isn't available before chapter 8, then the ponies go on hiatus until chapter 15. Well, I guess he can stab Beck. LOL. Frey's stats are very similar to Cain's (weapon ranks being the biggest difference). Cain has prologue 8 while Frey has 3 chapters in the main game before Cain reappears... Although it doesn't mean a whole lot since in 6 he starts faraway, 6x is short, and in 7 he is screwed by the trees. I had decent success with Cain in H1 so Frey shouldn't be a whole lot different. Eh, I guess I am feeling a 7/10 for our blue-haired sacrificial lamb.
  12. Meg blocks ledges. Fiona manipulates Laguz gauges with Javelins. Astrid... well, has free deployment. I believe the logic goes something like this.
  13. A good unit wins over your heart with their looks, charm, and personality so you continue to use them even when logic says they suck.
  14. After a heavy downpour, a flood that covers half of the map! Fargus to top tier! If you let the battle go on too long: Day -> Dusk -> Night -> Day. Units just start randomly falling asleep on the battlefield. Go go Restore staff Serra.
  15. Assassin: +1 HP, +1 Con, +30 sword wexp, Silencer, Shamshir access Rogue: +1 Skill, Pick, Steal, Desert Digging Assassins gets the slightly better promo bonuses, and the extra weapon experience will allow Colm to hit Silver Swords and the S-rank bonuses faster. Don't care much about Silencer since you can't build any real reliable strategies around it. I guess the Shamshir ain't too bad, Joshua and Eirika are the only other competition (go away Marisa). Unfortunately for Rogues, cheap buyable Chest Keys really take away the shine from Pick. As for stealing, the only valuable things I can think of: Speedwings in chapter 13 Ephraim - Only an issue if you have Colm promoted to an Assassin already. Guiding Ring in chapter 15 - Can deploy Rennac for this, and do you really need a 4th Guiding Ring at this point? Dragonshield in chapter 17 - Can deploy Rennac for this. Goddess Icon from a northern Archer in chapter 19 - Bleh. Rogues (like Thieves) can dig up desert items with 100% success. Yeah, but I usually end up not promoting Colm and just splitting up the buried treasure between Colm and Rennac.
  16. So Marcia becomes a Lance Cavalier? And I guess that means Jill is never recruited since she'll drown in the ocean.
  17. Random weather? That will drive the low-turn players absolutely batty! Anyways, FE7 rain/snow is really more of an annoyance. At least in indoor-outdoor hybrid chapters you can go move onto interior terrain to avoid the effects. Or alternatively, take a cue from Pokemon and give Fargus the Swift Swim ability to double his movement/speed in the rain. Fog is annoying as well, but it actually poses a threat to the player, and we would at least have Matthew.
  18. Steelix has a pretty low catch rate of 25 (lower than the space-time beasts!) and is immune to Thunder Wave!!! ... ... ... Yeah, I ain't got nothing.
  19. Oh, and to add on what I said earlier about FE3 Book 1 Roshe... FE3 Speed: Cain : 6 base @ 60% growth Abel : 7 base @ 50% growth Roshea : 7 base @ 40% growth Shadow Dragon Speed (Cavalier): Cain : 6 base @ 50% growth Abel : 7 base @ 50% growth Roshea : 7 base @10% growth WHY!? Why would you do this IS!? ... Then I looked up FE1 and saw Roshea had 10% there. And I know Shadow Dragon is supposed to be more based on FE1... but that still makes me foam at the mouth in a most violent manner! ANYWAYS!!! Can we just copy-n-paste everyone's scores for Roshea, assign them to Vyland, and move onto Wendell sooner?
  20. I just took a quick gander at his stats and that seems about right. Better HP, defense growths, but lower speed growth. Has roughly the same bases as Cain/Abel. He starts on level 3 instead of 1, but that doesn't matter since you gain set exp from killing enemies - regardless of your level or promotion status.
  21. Yeah... they're included in the game, unfortunately. But no one wants to spend 30 minutes on a single race, so no one selects them other than the trolls.
  22. Emblem Kart Fire Emblem + Mario Kart Race to the finish with your favorite FE characters! ... With absolutely no concern given to class balance! The online is just... beyond horrible. Half the players choose horse-mounted characters and select non-desert maps. The other half choose magic characters and select the few desert themed maps. You would think flying characters would be king. But you would be incorrect. The Blue Shell gets replaced with the Orion's Bolt - a magical arrow that seeks out the lead character. A flying unit hit by this is basically screwed for the entire race since the recovery process involves mashing the A button for like 30 seconds in order for your character to get back up and onto the mount. Yeah, there is a Delphi Shield item, but it only shows in the item roulette when you're in last place and with a very low probability.
  23. Subpar class set A character who brings nothing amazing to the table. Curate --> Sniper material. Best used as a sacrifice in chapter 5. 2.5/10 (With -1 bias included because I hate his face)
  24. Okay, you FE theorists, try yer hand at this: Where would Shinon be on the tier list if... 1. Shinon didn't leave the Greil Mercenaries. 2. A Silver Bow is added to Shinon's starting inventory. 3. The Double Bow is now the same as its FE10 reincarnation. 4. Shinon replaces Oscar in Ike's support list. 5. Shinon's initial skill is now Paragon instead of Provoke. 6. Titania suddenly transforms into a Valkyrie with the same stats as 10/1 Mist with C Staff and E Sword.
