  1. My area uses customs, so if you play with customs, watch out for fox's upb 3, which kills ridiculously early (70%ish in the air) but is a risky option because of how easily it can be punished. He doesn't really trade anything for this stupid killing power except it has slightly lower travel speed and travels less distance IIRC. There aren't really other customs to write home about except his neutral b 2, which is basically a better Falco laser.

  2. Early fliers are generally great and Karin is no exception. She helps make Chapters 6 and 7 less dumb and is the only source of flying utility until the only other relevant flier shows up like a third of the game later. Yeah her stats/skills aren't great compared to Dean but who cares, Dean isn't killing bosses anytime soon because of Asvel/Ced's boss killing monopoly and there are better combat units out there, although they don't fly.

Screw it, use both but Karin's better.

  3. I really liked playing as Marth in Melee as a kid, so that's technically my first experience. Yes, I was one of those guys who thought Marth and Roy were in FE7, which idk how I got it but it was my first.

Anyway, after that I decided to look into more FE games and fell in love with the Jugdral games for the dark plot of FE4 and the unfairness of FE5. Sadly, my other FE friends find these games too complicated so I don't really have someone to talk about them with IRL.

  4. Ayup. Also, Infinity Mijinion (or w/ever his name is). He can clone himself, and the clones can get in the way of finding out which one's the real one. Also, his weakness isn't even that good against him since it only works on one of his attacks, and if it hits, it just creates another clone. The worst part? The clones can take an absurd amount of punishment before going kablooie.

Not to mention his weakness is a weapon that has a terrible description and is overall unintuitive and bad (like a lot of X6's gameplay)

(okay it's not bad when you exploit it with Zero but that's less on the weapon itself and more on how it affects Zero)

  5. I'm a Hunting Horn man, and Aerial is the only style that seems alright (aside from Guild) cause the Bushido counter attack has a super long animation and none of the Horn's Hunting Arts are that good. As long as I don't lose the diagonal swing and the backwards slam I'll be okay with Aerial, though it doesn't really need help to reach high heads since Horn's swings hit high anyway.

Aside from that, Bushido Gunlance looks fun for the stab + full reload and Bushido Heavy Bowgun gives it some much needed mobility and maybe the ability to perfect evade out of crouching, which is incredible if thats the case.

  6. And Amatsumagatsuchi was just announced to be in this game. The interesting thing is that it was only in Portable 3rd and no other game in the series. Now I REALLY want this game to come out to the west. The reveal was added on to the second trailer so I edited the OP.

  7. Didn't see a thread on this game so I thought I would make one

Monster Hunter Generations (X in Japan) is going to be the last game in the 4th generation of Monster Hunter, featuring monsters absent in 4U, such as Nargacuga, as well as brand new monsters, including 4 flagships! All weapons from 4U are present but the game's main feature is the ability to equip Hunting Styles for more customization. There are 4 styles: Guild, Aerial, Adept, and Striker. Guild plays exactly like the weapon did in 4U, Aerial gives up some attacks for the ability to jump off monsters or players with unique attacks in the air, Adept allows for a counterattack if an attack is dodged/guarded at the right time, and Striker resembles how the weapon was handled in previous generations as well as allowing 3 Hunting Arts instead of the 1 or 2 the other styles get. Hunting Arts are basically super moves, ranging from powerful attacks to self buffs.

  8. FF1 (PSX): Boss Battle A

FF3 (NES): Aria, The Maiden of Water

FF4 (DS): Battle Against the Four Fiends

    FF5 (GBA): Decisive Battle

    FF10: A Fleeting Dream

FF12: The Sochen Cave Palace (The hardest decision, this entire game's OST is phenomenal)

FF13: Blinded By Light (It's the only song I know from this game lol)

And the obligatory spinoff: Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates: Abandoned Town

  9. I'm surprised I haven't posted on this thread

    64: Fox
    Melee: Falcon, Falco
    Brawl: Wario, Wolf
    PM: Wario, Ivysaur
    Wii U/3DS: Mega Man, Wario
It used to be Falcon in every game but I wanted to avoid maining the same guy in every game since I would confuse the different playstyles of each iteration. Then Wario happened.
  10. I find that most fighters are good early game since only a select few units will double anyway and they do a good amount of damage due to naturally high STR and axe might. Their highish base HP also lets them tank a few hits since enemy damage isn't that high early on non-Lunatic difficulties. If the fighter has a good speed base/growth on top of this, like Nolan/Vaike then they will be good units all game, but if they don't then they're only marginally useful after early game.
