  1. SKATEBOARDING!!!

    Uh...I mean... *cough*

    Favorite of the trilogy overall:
    All three.

    Favorite world or level overall:
Lofty Castle. It's a fairytale castle~ and the music is rather relaxing

Are you good at the flights/speedways?
I can complete them, does that count? I'm decent at them.

Be honest: Are you a good glider?
    Hell yeah!

How about supercharging? Are you a master at that?
    Not so much.

    Bonus: Most feared/dreaded level:
Alpine Ridge. Those big yellow creatures inexplicably TERRIFY me. x_x

Duma judged all of the people of Thabes for the actions of one man, and caused so many humans to be slaughtered.

That's extreme, true enough. And I assume that's why Naga punished Duma.

But, in punishing Duma it seems like Naga wasn't going to do anything about Forneus the Demon Alchemist nor Grima the Abomination.

Was Naga just going to leave things be? Good grief. ...But, well, maybe Naga was planning some sort of intervention but Duma acted before Naga could. *shrug* My everything just collapsed on itself.

  3. Fafnir are summoned from one of the sigils in the battle against The Creation. ...Along with a crap load of other enemy types.

But other than that... Not sure why Fafnir in particular are mentioned. Dragons gathering to dragons?

    6 minutes ago, omegaxis1 said:

And why Duma ultimately feared the humans of Thabes if there was a madman that actually created a dragon like that. That's why he might have had Thabes be destroyed.

    Now I'm questioning Naga's sanity...

It wasn't rebuilt. I'm saying that the entire case that the Senate sent messengers and soldiers for Forneus before they ultimately decided to seal the workshop happened AFTER Grima had already killed Forneus. After the sealing was done, Duma must have sent soldiers to destroy Thabes.

Yeah I got all that. Sorry if I'm not making sense--you totally blew my mind that Grima could be soooo old.

    "Unexpected Things"

    (From a historian's transcripts)

In the dark night, I witnessed fireflies, then thousands upon thousands of death.
In the darkness, there could have been a dawn.
Darkness has a will of its own, and it mockingly laughs at each life.

    ****************************************

    That fishing village was "unusual".
Everyone seemed to give me a deadly stare.
The shadows from the western sea that I saw, they were "unusual".

I heard the following old stories from those who lived in Furia for a long time.
It is said that a great calamity shall come here from the western seas.
An ancient fell god driven yonder by the divine dragons' ruler,
holding a grudge against the land of Archanea, shall return---
Therefore, they train in combat. To prepare to face the unknown horror.
So that's why the air in Furia Harbour feels so thick and tense.

When the Furians reach adulthood, it is said they test their bravery
by visiting the ancient city ruins in the north of the eastern desert.
The ruins are home to ruffians, and sometimes Terrors appear.
They are taught to travel the desert, where the horizons are naught but sand,
until they suddenly see the abandoned tower.
That tower is the tower of Thabes, the ruins' landmark.

    ****************************************

That day, it was not the calamity that came from the western seas.
A hero that seemed to be cloaked in azure flames, and a maiden with shining wings.
    They were... gods, or dragonkin with dragonstones;
a mysterious group that livened the place with their awesome presence.
But, in other words, they were "unusual"---
My curiosity gave me no choice but to follow them.

    ****************************************

    "It", suddenly was "there";
emotions beyond my knowledge awakened inside of me.
    Fear, awe and despair---

    Sealed with a Secret

Here are accounts left behind by various people.
    These writings were carved on stone tablets retrieved from the depths of the Thabes Labyrinth;
they recounted a madness incomprehensible to common folk.
An abominable darkness within the Archanean continent where man and dragon co-existed.
Perhaps the inevitable outcome is--it is not safe to divulge.
If you are unfortunate to uncover these pages, I would recommend that you keep everything to yourselves.
--At the very least, it no longer has anything to do with me--

Hold the phone. What time period are these events from? And when were these stone tablets retrieved? Is this perhaps describing a separate event to Almica's supposed-excursion? Maybe something from centuries later. Crack theories, go!

Also what's the deal with "unusual" being in quotations three times? Makes me think the person writing is unusual, hell it could be Grima in human form escaped from his prison with a memory-wipe and then getting close to Thabes re-awakened his memories.

I have so many ridiculous theories floating around my head.

This must be around the time when the Senate began dispatching messengers and soldiers.

    Thabes is...destroyed... Wow, wait, what?!

It was never rebuilt, was it?

Is THIS why Duma set out to destroy Thabes in the first place? Too powerful, indeed.

I think it is the First Exalt and Naga actually. The timeline leaves Alm and Celica going into Thabes ambiguous, but we do know that The First Exalt was the one who sealed Grima, and he would have needed Naga's power to do it.

But the First Exalt is from a thousand later after Almica/Marth. First Exalt is a dragon/manakete? My brain... That would explain being "mistaken" for dragons, though.

  7. Feels like my passion for Fire Emblem has been rekindled. There's just something about Archanea that gets me, captivates me. And now Valentia, thanks to Echoes, is doing the same thing. There's so much depth, so much...ah, I don't know what it is. All of this extra information, the worldbuilding, the connections, the little things... It's like a dream come true! There's so much wonderful information!

    Praise be for this book.

And thank you to the translators, here and elsewhere, for helping people receive this information. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

    Good grief I'm crying...

  8. My curiosity is piqued.

How the heck did Nuibaba manage to become a witch?

And what exactly does the term "witch" mean? As we learn it ingame, a witch is a woman who offered her soul to Duma in exchange for power, becoming a shell of a person. So why is Nuibaba called a "witch"? Is it a loose term now? Or is it supposed to refer to any woman who can use dark magic and is simply most commonly used to describe the Duma-puppets? Or something else??

    Rhetorical questions. Musings.

May I cast a second vote? Or third depending on how you count. If so: the witch class.

guessing she didn't bond as much with the rest.

It's stated somewhere ingame that Conrad's mother is Rigelian, and thus they were both more or less "shunned" by everyone but Celica. ...I seem to recall Celica was in a similar situation of being looked down on (and thus Celica and Conrad didn't have anyone else), but don't quote me on that.

edit: Oh hell, I just realized thanks to this timeline: Celica wasn't necessarily "looked down on" but rather was set aside and ignored.

Take your time with the book overall, but may I do ask that you translate some of the character profiles eventually? Saber's, Jesse's, and Dean's backstories actually caught me off guard, and I'm interested in seeing the official translations (the choice to kill Dean is actually kind of tragic now, as his brave sword is a family heirloom).

Don't tease me! Waiting not-so-patiently is hard enough as is!

Sock, I just finished grabbing Shelter and Shove from all your team members. Thanks for the help and the tip it saved me a lot of time. If you or anyone else has Shove and or Shelter on the Nohr characters I am still looking for those.

A'right, these guys are up now: Shura, Xander, Nyx, Beruka, Camilla, Soleil. Shura doesn't have Shove.

    That's it from me. :o

  14. Well then. I asked instead of posting it to potentially spare me some typing. xD

Anyway. The trick for getting as many units as you want from someone's castle. That is, the units they have on their team. You need an extra save slot or use casual mode battle saves (bookmarks probably work, they did for the logbook exploit in Awakening). You save in the person's castle or the battle screen in their castle. Then do the battle and recruit a unit you want. When on the save screen do NOT save on that slot. Save on a different slot. This will save the unit to your logbook. Now reset and load the file that's saved in the castle. Repeat until you have all the units you want from this castle.

Battle saves are what I use since I usually don't have a save slot to spare. In this case, on the save screen after the castle battle you proceed without saving. Once back in your own castle go into a skirmish/DLC map, start it without saving, then do a battle save. Reset, repeat, etc.

If you accidentally save over the castle save... Hiccup. "Saving habit too strong..." At least there's always tomorrow/30 visits. :P

Credit to zettaslow for telling me about this trick!

    No they don't...

They do, but it's only available after you do a certain DLC map.

And...it's marked appropriately on the necessary pages.

    Characters -> Support Bonus
A nice little note with a link: "DLC: Certain DLC maps unlock additional support bonuses."

    Script -> Support Conversations
At the bottom: "DLC-exclusive: To be added"

Do you know there's a trick for getting as many units as you want from someone's castle?
