i know its tl;dr but if you're really curious, i'm counselor for the summer program mentioned in this article (and i went through it myself two years back, especially seeing as i got a $60,000/4 years scholarship from them)

Shinon's generally neutral, he gave me probably the most efficient clear of one of the earlier Part 3 chapters (the one with the Wyvern as the boss) because his Adept+Crossbow cleared a couple enemies and Adept + Forged Steel Bow with full crit landed a pretty reliable boss kill. But I'm glad I'll have Janaff (or Ulki i forget ...
