Well, it was my first time whaling for a character, and it will probably be my last, but I got L'Arachel and am happy with her. Probably around 200 orbs. First -Atk and second -Def. Both +HP. At least Def is her dump stat. And a correction, Pitybreaker Linde is -Res, not -Spd.

Trying for L’Arachel now. Got pitybroken by Linde +Atk -Spd and Alm +Def -Atk. First on-banner summon was Myrrh +Spd -Res. I don’t even need a blue book unit, I have Micaiah from the last banner and Oliver and Reinhardt waiting for me to drop the feathers.

I was never a fan of the "Great Lord" title. To me, it will always be associated with Hector the axe guy, while Master Lord is more fitting for the Sacred Stones and Awakening lords. And Hector's promoted map sprite makes him look like a high school football player.

Pulled on the Radiant Dawn banner yesterday. Got Sothe (+Spd -Atk, ouch) - would the +Atk seal be the best bet? Also got Lute (+Atk -Res, still ouch to a lesser extent since she’s hurting her best stat).

Mine's +HP/-Spd. Ouch for me. At least I just got +Spd/-HP Minerva. And before that, +Atk/-Def NY!Camilla.

I just got sucked in. Dropped a decent amount on orbs to start (<$100), so I'd at least start with momentum. Did not know how the metagame went and sent home countless good units (and kept bad units). Now being more selective with who I train. Hey, it also got me to dust off Fates and Echoes.

Absolutely hate apples. Every candy that ditches lime is dead to me.

And so the Lunar Conquest is about to begin.: Corrin (Incineroar) / Effie (Bewear) / Nyx (Mimikyu) / Beruka (Mandibuzz) / Peri (Toxapex) I need a special attacker, so Elise (Sylveon) rounds out the team. Going to be picking up the game tomorrow. Not looking forward to the recruitment process here. Running from male Eevees and Golbats, throwing Luvdiscs back and ensuring I don't defeat Corsola before Mareanie appears...

As is my tradition when running through a Pokemon game, my team will be Fire Emblem themed, the starter being named after a lord unit. It looks like my Moon run will be Fates Conquest. Already I see parallels - Effie as Bewear, Nyx as Mimikyu, and Keaton as Lycanroc (the midnight form matching him better). Corrin, then, will be Litten, being the only Alola starter to learn a Dragon move. Having been out of Pokemon for a while, I'm really going into this blind otherwise.

Also going to limit myself to Fire Emblem...L'arachel, Anna, and Sigurd (no homo)

I still buy most of my clothes at Hot Topic. Not the pop culture stuff, the actual edgy stuff. I also have a fishnet shirt.

Ketchup and shredded mozzarella on an English muffin. That was my absolute lowest.

Blazing Sword: (when I was around 13 or 14) Promoted before level 20 (and not just Lyn Normal Wallace) Killed both Guy and Raven, then wondered why the Hero Crest was called that. Me at the time: "Mercenaries sound rather shady. What? They're the units that promote into Heroes?" Got Athos killed in the final chapter, was disappointed to see a generic "died at Light" ending for him. Interlude: Skipping the Tellius games. The Laguz did not appeal to me. Awakening: Playing on Hard/Casual made me pick up very un-FE tactics. Normal/Classic helped me unlearn them. Fates: (just now, so I have no excuse) Not starting with Birthright on Hard, so I could take that same file at the Branch of Fate and drop down to Normal for Conquest. I also get the feeling that the story is meant to be played Birthright first. Chapter 10 (Conquest) - massive brain fart. did not realize the ballista could inflict friendly fire. Blew my flying units down to one hit point. That's a restart. And an honorable mention: Before all of this, when I got Super Smash Bros. Melee and looked at the character unlock list, when I was around 12, my response at the time: "Marth and Roy? Fire Emblem? Sounds like a weird cowboy circus game. Mr. Game and Watch? I'm expecting some cool guy with a cape, if he's unlocked like last. Oh well. I'll see them when I unlock them." I was so disappointed to discover Mr. Game and Watch was just some little beeping LCD blot guy.

I was doing a similar project myself, but with some restrictions. Starters can only be Lords and vice versa, I try not to assign low-tier species to stronger units (except in the case of starter-Lords because there are not enough OU starters to go around), and I try not to use legendaries or Ubers. Mostly, I try to match color scheme and/or stat specialties, but it's looser-fitting overall. Going to be taking Mawile/Nino, Shedinja/Jaffar, and Roserade/Inigo if that's okay. Also, Lilligant as Elincia would have been perfect for me, if my Ike was a shiny Charmander so that I could use the Y Mega to provide the sunlight while still preserving the color scheme. Good thing Poke Transporter is delayed so I have more time to decide who my good IV / HP Fire Lilligant in my White 2 will be named after. Leaning towards Sylvia because I also have Whimsicott planned as Lewyn.

The game gave me a Christmas present. I decided to finally get started on the Seliph (Froakie) project. Catching the female Protean Froakie was the hardest part, I got about 20 Torrents in a row. Then I started breeding, finally nailing it just right now. (Don't tell me I need an egg move...) I then sent out the 2IV to 4IV Timid Protean Froakies over Wonder Trade and ended up getting a Porygon among the trades. Also, one of the rejects turned out to be 5IV -SpAtk so that I can have him become the Spikes-providing grandfather of Alm (Chespin, through Delibird). I also finally got the 3rd slot to open up in one of my Friend Safaris, and it turned out to be Eevee, so I can do some re-breeding. Lilina (Vaporeon) will be re-bred to be put into a Luxury Ball and Arthur (Espeon) will be re-bred for higher IVs and hidden ability.

Forgot about Power Whip...Any of the high-power miss-a-lot moves is "fun" (except to actually use) in my book. ...yeah, maybe I shouldn't have taken my rage out on them for stuffing up teams I had planned. Maybe I should get my start playing in the lower tiers so I can safely use flashy but weaker teams, what with a lot of final-form starters ending up in the bottom tiers.

I know utility Pokémon aren't supposed to be the most interesting, but Is it just me or are Forretress and Ferrothorn the most "Boring but Practical" Pokémon (in design and in use) ever?

That split should have been done from the start. I always wondered why a Fighting-type is so weak against a bird pecking at it / why a Bug-type would be damaged so badly by being blown around. I'm actually against most part-Normal combinations other than Normal/Flying. To me, Normal is elemental neutrality. I would strip Normal from the Deerling, Litleo, and Helioptile lines. Normal/(other type) implies a weak command of the other type, like Bibarel, Girafarig, and Wigglytuff.

The Shiny Stone poll for me was a coin flip that Togekiss won. The Dusk Stone poll leads me to a nickname question for my grand Fire Emblem Cross-Cast breeding project. I want Deirdre and Tharja to be represented - who would fit Mismagius better? The other one will be Gothitelle. And, I just had a breeding success - Arvis the 5IV Timid Larvesta. Other than that, the cross-cast has hit a brick wall, as I will need to transfer a lot from 5th gen (N's Pokemon provide 30 IVs needed for Hidden Power breeding, on top of so many species in the cross-cast being unavailable). (I notice this place doesn't view bumping dead threads too kindly, or I would have bumped the nickname thread.)

Had some 5IV successes with the egg RNG "abuse": Aron (-SpDef, Impish) Spritzee (-SpDef, Quiet) Gible (-SpAtk, Jolly) (sadly Sand Veil makes it only legal in Ubers) Goomy (-Atk, Modest) (I see an Ability Capsule in my near future...Sap Sipper provides a useless boost. The 31 SpAtk was the "uninherited" IV.) Going slower than I'd like for a few reasons: - I don't have enough potential parents to really take advantage of this, most of these were from sifting through the box and finding parents with the right IVs to put together - So many of my projects are gender-skewed, I only have 1:1 "scout" parents

Ended up Wonder Trading with a trainer named Basilio...Hope he noticed my tagline of "Chrom-ulent!"

Sigurd is the dreamiest Lord in Fire Emblem history... Side note: I was angry at Mia for beating Nanna. I decided to keep my mind off it with some Pokemon breeding / Wonder Trading. Current project, Dragon Dance Charmander. It matched me up with a trainer named Mia...who proceeded to send me another Charmander (this time with Belly Drum). Because of this, in the event of a Jill/Tiki victory, I'm voting Mia for the Forseer-Talrega division.

I voted for Nanna. I'm a sucker for the cute girls with staves on horses. Bonus points for being a blonde and not being a pain to train unlike later girls-with-staves-on-horses. Mia must lose. All I can think of is Pizza Hut Pizza Mia. Terrible sauce and there was too much of it. Also not familiar with Tellius.

Did you defeat it the first time around? I think it returns unless you catch it. All of the interactable Pokemon did this in HG/SS if I remember and I was surprised to see Sudowoodo back. I should have done this for Lugia and Red Gyarados.
