  1. It didn't just feel like they spent half of the direct, they literally spent 25 of of their 42 minutes talking about Smash, which is about 60% of the direct's runtime. I'm honestly pretty disappointed with the presentation. I was happy with the trailer for XC2's DLC and it was great to finally get more news about FE16, but apart from that, there wasn't much there for me. I like Smash and all, but I honestly got bored halfway through the segment. I mostly disappointed that we didn't get an update on Metroid Prime 4. All we got last E3 was a short teaser and I was hoping we'd learn more this time around.
  2. I was looking forward to Tiki's new weapon, but I really don't see myself using it sadly. I'm currently running A!Tiki and Nowi in my arena core, meaning I could take advantage of her 2-range Atk/Def Refine, but when I compare it to her current LB+(Def)/WB combo, I don't see how it's in anyway superior outside of scoring purposes. So considering I'm short on Divine Dew, I'm definitely not using it here. Linde's refine is decent, but I don't know if I'd use it over Blarblade. Merric's refine look pretty good though. Flyer effectiveness, special -1 and 2 range Atk/Spd bond with mages and staves is definitely a welcome upgrade for him.
  3. Well I'm slowly making progress through the VN and I'm liking the small tidbits of details that didn't make it to the anime, but I haven't seen any major differences yet, which is understandable, I guess, considering I'm only in Chapter 3. Having just rewatched the original anime and considering I'm following the S;G0 anime, I think I'll have a good shot at appreciating what's different. Speaking of the anime, I'm really glad I refreshed myself on the original since it made the latest 0 episode much more enjoyable. Being not dead is always good news. Good to know turning 30 wasn't all that bad either since it's slowly approaching for me and my friends and I have been dreading it '>w> Btw, how have you been doing lately? IIRC the last time we chatted, you were finishing with your exams. Did you get your results yet?
  4. Nice! Played/read any interesting games or manga lately? Meeting old friends is always nice, though it can be sad since it can make you realize how you slowly drifted away from each other. And I'm thinking of the doing the same thing with this summer if I don't get any news back from the jobs I applied for since it'll be my last summer before graduating. What happened to your last PC? I haven't been all that active lately on Discord either though '>w>
  5. Tis a small world. I guess I'll soon be able to make my own conclusion on that front, but I'm curious to see how well or not the anime handled the source material in your opinion. Thanks! How have you been doing? Hi Sylv! Second year is now done and over with, meaning there's only one left to go! Aside from that, I'm now much busier with my job, since May/June is prime time for tutoring. Aside from that, I've mostly been relaxing by playing games (Skyrim, Etrian Odyssey 5 and now the S;G VNs lately) or keeping up with anime (only HeroAca and S;G0 really) How have you been doing?
  6. Just passing by to let people know I'm still out there even if I haven't been here in a long while. Also, makes me realize I haven't changed themes in a while, but considering S;G0 is still airing and I just rewatched the original show and bought the VNs, I think it's ok to keep it for a while longer.
  7. SMT Devil Survirvor :I bought the games since it was a tactical RPG and I thought I'd like coming from FE. However, the dark tones of the game kind of grinded me down with time and gradually made me lose interest in continuing the game. I don't remember which plot point it was exactly, but I remember feeling completely depressed after a certain point in the game and looking through synopsis online made it seems like I'd have to go through a lot more depressing bits before reaching something resembling a hopeful ending. Might say more about my mindset at the time than anything about the game though. I must also mention Xenoblade 2. I do like the game, but the original XC is my Top 3 and XC2 falls way short of it in many aspects for me. The world felt smaller and less varied or unique than XC1 despite XC2 having the upper hand when it came to hardware power. The story felt extremely short and lackluster compared to XC1 and I never developed the same affection for XC2's cast as I have with the one in XC1, which is probably in part due to the character designs just not working for me. The only place where the game met my expectations was with its soundtrack. I don't have the same feelings toward XCX since it did its own thing by shifting the primary focus from the main story to the exploration of the world and the side-quests. Overall, I still like the game quite a bit and I'll probably jump right back into it once the story DLC is released, but I won't look back to it with the same fondness I have for the original XC. I often only see this criticism after a game series makes a major change to its core gameplay and I take it as a way to voice out grievances with the new direction. I don't think it's elitist because if the FE15 and all the FE games that came after it were fantasy dating sims with some SRPG gameplay thrown in to pad out the gameplay, I do think it would be understandable and not elitist if some people said "FE15 is a good game, but it's not a good FE game". Granted, I think a better to voice it would be "FE15 is a good dating sim, but a terrible SRPG, which is why I liked FE in the first place." So in Paper Mario's case, I think it's people disliking how the most recent games threw out leveling/badge/companions for sticker/card collecting, varied NPCs for a rainbow of Toads and stories that tried something new with Mario for typical Mario stories. Breath of the Wild is in a similar boat since it did away with long, varied and labyrinthine dungeons for short, simple and similar experiences like the shrine and divine beasts or completely scrapped how progression was tied to unlocking items. I can personally empathize with @Tuvy since while I think Breath of the Wild is an amazing game, it didn't really scratch my Zelda itch for the reason I outlined above. In a way "this game is a not a good series 'x' game" is the opposing criticism to "games in this series are too formulaic" since the first criticism comes from people who want games in a series to stick to particular set of "gameplay rules" while the second one comes from people who want change in the series.
  8. That was an interesting review to read since it kind of confirms some of the things I had gathered watching trailers and gameplay footage. Hitboxes being wonky again is a shame since they were pretty solid for the most part in Gen. The part regarding how Archdemon mode was gutted is particularly of note for me since DBs are my go-to weapons and maintaining the Demon gauge by finding opportunities to go into demon mode is part of why I like the weapon. I I wonder if people who's first MH was World and that own a Switch will be interested in getting XX if only because XX has around 3 times the amount of monsters World has (and a lot of what I consider the most entertaining monsters to fight aren't in World as of now. Though not having played world, I can't say if some of the new monsters are just as good as them.) If you played 3U, I think Gen does a decent enough job easing you into the game. The major changes I can think of right now is that underwater combat is no longer at thing and instead you can now attack mid-air after jumping from a wall or a ledge to try to mount the monster. Though you might want to look a bit of info about the two new weapons (Charge Blade and Insect Glaive), the hunter arts and the hunting styles that are present in MHGU.
  9. I had given up hope that this would ever be localized, but boy am I glad it happened. Definitely getting this the day it releases. I've been keeping busy with other games, but I slowly started itching for a good monster hunt lately. Probably will jump back into MHGen to tide me over especially since I'll be able to port my file to MHGU. As someone who has no mean to play World and probably won't have the chance to play it, I'm kind of curious as to why you found it disappointing.
  10. It's pretty ironic that fates has some of the worst(if not the worst) writing in the series despite IS putting so much emphasis on how they hired a writer with manga experience to handle the story seemingly to answer the fans who complained about Awakening's writing.
  11. Just looked at a summoning video of Dagas and his silhouette is indeed different. No idea whose silhouette this could be then, which is pretty intriguing.
  12. It kind of looks like Dagas' silhouette. I remember reading that there's 2 versions of Dagas in the code, I wonder if that could cause him to appear as a bug.
  13. You're probably talking about the Charge Blade. I haven't played too much with it since it's very technical and pretty slow. Regarding being slow, don't hesitate to sheath your weapon when repositioning in a hunt. If you can get over the slowness and master it, the Charge Blade is one of the best weapon on MH4U. Otherwise, the Insect Glaive is also really good and it's much faster than the Charge Blade while having more range than the Dual Blades. Upgrading Insect Glaives can be a bit of a pain though. You'll want to look for guides to get the best Kinsect if you do use them. Though speaking of which, looking up weapon tutorials on youtube (Arekz Gaming and Gaijin Hunter had good ones) could help both master and choose a weapon since they give you the best attack combos, general strategies and useful skills. Elemental weakness is more useful for fast hitting weapons like the Dual Blades than slow hitting ones like the Great Sword or the Charge Blade.
  14. This is what I can think of off the top of my head right now: -¸Don't hesitate to try out various weapons to see which one works best for you. And even if you find 1 main weapon that you prefer, don't discard using other weapons entirely. For example, I main Dual Blades, but I sometime switched to other weapons for specific hunts since the small reach of DBs was making the hunt harder. -Learn the weak zones of the monsters and their elemental weakness. Every monster have hard and soft spots, which can change depending on whether you're using a blunt or sharp weapon. It's incredibly hard to figure out in-game though(the elemental attributes of a monsters armor can give you an idea of the elemental weakness of the monster), which is where the next tip comes in. -Use Kiranico. I always have this open when I'm playing because every thing you would want to know is there. -If you weren't doing it already, do the offline quests. The monsters there are weaker than online and soloing monster is a great way of getting used to them. -Related to this, always try to pay close attention to the monster. Monsters often have specific 'tells' that will allow you to predict which attacks they're about to do. Also learn which attacks leave an opening for you to attack.
  15. Nice! Are you using her with the Quickened Pulse seal to guarantee 1 round Galeforce procs? If not, you should probably give her LaD3 and use the Heavy Blade seal to increase her offenses.
  16. Ça va. Je ne me souvenais pas que tu parlais Français. Et toi, comment ça va? (French is my first language and the one I use everyday, but using it here feels weird lol) Sorry, in your In Your Opinion opinion? I had no idea what to use and then Steins;Gate 0 hype made me decide to re-use this theme again. I can believe it. I have an awfully hard time finishing VNs myself.
  17. He did do that, which is probably why the idea even struck me. And those were indeed good times.
  18. Hello again in your in your opinion opinion? I was really confused and thought Nobody was impersonating you for a moment.

  20. I was gonna respond with luxcifer, but Kim beat me to it. Now I need to wait for other free transcendence events or do the quests for each character that hasn't reached it yet.

  22. I had nothing urgent to do and Elsword decided to give me 100+ level up scrolls per account. This is the result. Also, I'm a nerd. I'm proud of those, though I also partial to DaddJokes the Add.
  23. I have seen the depths of Hellsword : I dunno who thought of that extreme level up event, but I lost a lot of my week-end to it.

  25. Mix of both really. I nearly always got a copy of her when she showed up on a banner and she often broke my pity rate (she showed up back on the Brave Heroes banner when I was looking for her Brave counterpart. Interesting that I finally got B!Lucina on a banner where regular Lucina is a focus)
