  1. How do you see reclassing being done in future remakes? For the GotHW do you see reclassing being set up so that while none of the 1st Gen characters can reclass, the 2nd Gen characters can (including fixed characters)?
  2. The topic on content from playable character deaths got to choices in Awakening. Now, an example of a game where a choice leads to a different route is Tactics Ogre, the player can choose to take part in a massacre (Law), or refuse (Chaos). Each route has different stages, different characters, and a different personality for one of the characters. Another example is Der Langrisser, where if the player meets certain requirements then one of the members of the resident empire will ask Elwin if he will join The Empire. Picking no goes into the Light Path, picking yes goes into the Imperial Path. And there are more choices after that. Even without picking yes or no from a group of choices, maybe another FE could let access to different routes be there if you go in a certain direction on a map like in Thracia 776. Or you could fullfill objectives on the map, which could let you access another route. Or at least another stage. You could also choose between characters again. Like if say, you had to choose between Sumia and Cordelia and the one who isn't chosen is killed with the other Pegasus Knights by those undead bowmen. And any other choices in content that aren't tied to a playable character who is in the party dying.
  3. How strong are the enemies in relation to the playable characters?
  4. Honestly, wouldn't Dagdar from Thracia 776 be the better benchmark for a "good" Jagen than Oifey? If he counts.
  5. Except Marcus is a better unit than the majority of the cast.
  6. So, here's a list that I've made of suggestions to improve Archers/Hunters/Snipers that I've seen: 1. Give Archers/Hunters the most range of all non-magical units. Have all Archers have 2-3 range by default and increase it to 2-4 at promotion. 2. Archers/Hunters get more exp. from attacking and killing enemies than various other units. 3. Give multiple playable Archers/Hunters a higher base strength than various other units. 4. Bows get more mt. than various weapons that aren't axes or magic. 5. Give Archers/Hunters a movement skill. It could be one that lets them move again after attacking. Or you could give them higher movement. 6. Add bonuses for them attacking from forests or forts.
  7. Another topic got to the point of mounts, I made this thread. Now, I'm sure we can all agree that mounts don't really have enough disadvantages to make up for having close enough (if not better) stats then foot units with their higher mobility (and in several cases, weapon access). There haven't been enough enemies who can do effective damage on mounts, and Archers/Hunters/Snipers aren't enough either when it comes to flying mounts. Any suggestions?
  8. How did Oifey get his reputation if he falls off and can't use stat boosters to bump himself up like Jagen? He's worse than Dadgar (if he counts) and BS Marcus. He isn't much better than DD Jagen or BB Marcus.
  9. The enemies in his first game aren't that strong, he's mounted, his weapons, and his access to stat boosters, and he's there from the start. Oifey isn't much better than him. How did the Jagen=Bad character that much be benched after the first few chapters thing come about? With the "Jagen VS Oifey" distinction and "Oifey" being used for somebody like Titania, I'm wondering how that came about also.
  10. Snowy_One seems hung up on how other players could play in a certain way.
  11. Says who? Not every player is unwilling to let units stay dead. Not every player is unwilling to send units to a point where they'll be decoys and killed. Not every player goes in blind and doesn't look up the characters and their growths if available (I've done it myself), etc. And really, I don't recall anybody anybody in this topic saying that a character death would always lead to a stat increase. You could set it up so that just as there are increases, there could be decreases, and it wouldn't automatically happen for every character death so it wouldn't automatically be that you send characters to a point where they'll be killed for the boosts. Where are you going with this? What, you think the game would be unwinnable without killing the majority of the playable cast? Really, if that game had what we've been talking about, I'm sure it would have content if you went out of your way to keep the playable cast alive. Be it the characters themselves, stages, etc. What, you think the game couldn't be won unless enough of the cast died?
  12. How is the game's difficulty compared to the DS FEs?
  13. I thought about fixed weapon ranks. Could fixed weapon ranks go with the reclass system in Awakening? Or the DS FEs?
  14. Going by what you posted, Berwick Saga's approach to skills doesn't seem to be too bad.
  15. If the GotHW remake had Pair Up, how would that work out?
  16. Okay, so think of the Avatar being The Lord of the next FE featuring him/her. Now, to go with the Avatar being a customizable character, the player has more choices that change the way the story goes. It can range from dialogue options, to characters dying leading to different characters and/or routes, etc. How about that?
  17. You could also lower the growths for various playable characters and go with a Shining Force approach to growth.
  18. If Gaiden will get a remake, how will the other Falchion be handled?
  19. Berwick Saga has dismounting with buyable mounts, right? How did that work out?
  20. Alright, so here's a list: 1. Stat changes for one character if another dies. 2. Different stages and/or routes. 3. Different characters, be it by going through a different route and recruiting that character, or something else. 4. Different weapons and items. 5. Maybe have the option to sacrifice characters. Which might change the way the story goes, along with other things. Anything more?
  21. And what's the problem with getting access to somebody, somewhere, or something if Jon dies? Is Tactics Ogre bad for only letting you get to a stage and weapon if a certain character dies?
