Um, I know all these things and do them exactly. My builds are fine, at least according to those I show them to here.

If thats true, why are you still struggling with things that are very obvious to work around?

All I'm hearing is "I want something that counters Nowi without having to use the things that counter Nowi".

Though, if you really want something that kills Nowi while using only the units you want to use, you do have a few options:

    Raven [+Spd, -Res]
    Basilikos [unique]
    Luna
    Life and Death 3
    Desperation 3
    Heavy Blade 3

kills pretty much any Nowi build, even with Nowi on a fortification tile.

You can also do something with Frederick like

    Frederick [+Atk, -Spd] +Fortify Cavalry
    Slaying Axe+ [Res]
    Luna / Bonfire
    Close Def 3
    Quick Riposte 3
    Close Def 3

which takes surprisingly little damage from Nowi. It works reasonably well even without Close Def 3 in the A slot, though that would definitely be the preferred skill for this job. (It's so annoying how expensive Close Def is if you aren't willing to part with a copy of Joshua.)

This is the kind of workaround i was getting at. Reconstructing a fave to do the job you need done. The fact you are still batting this advice aside, is unfortunate. (If theres no close def fodder, try TA so Fred can block Nowi with his face)

seems to me you just want an out-of-the-box Nowi delete button with literally zero effort. Is it any wonder why i assumed you were in build pitfalls?

  2. @Anacybele looks like you need to learn how to build units for versatility. I fell into the same trap you did, by building based on how much raw power a unit has, and following build sites to the letter. This resulted in a shortage of resources, and units that struggled, despite them being high tier or optimal. The true secret to getting gud, isnt brute force characters/teams. Its building teams that are right for your playstyle and to deal with obstacles. Building specialized counters (even on units you built for other stuff, cuz guys doing more than one thing is cool) is a really good idea. Experimenting with builds is fun too. Titania and Anna can be good for you if you try out builds that could work for countering doods like Nowi. Sometimes simple and cheap builds are super effective. I know it can be tough to let loose on a 5* unit, but giving a great skill to a favorite unit can often make a huge difference.

Once i started getting weird with my builds, i noticed how much better at the game i was getting. Remember, its about fun, first and foremost.

Low-manning being viable is one thing. If it winds up becoming mandatory, however, that’s a problem. See: Awakening Lunatic.

Unless you are talking about Lunatic+, lowmanning Awakening Lunatic (vanilla) isnt mandatory and...where did you get that idea?

  4. Why wouldn't people use Deirdre in the arena? Shit, i thought the game was about having fun, not being the best, whatever that means.

Honestly, my Julius can really make Nowi's day miserable. Lewyn is right, armors are becoming more of a challenge. Fighter skills make thwomps a pain in the ass.

i still lean on Titanias axe having Draconic Aura effect.

  5. 2 hours ago, Anacybele said:

That's stupid then. Draconic refers to dragons. And we need more green anti-dragon weapons. I'm shocked IS hasn't given us anymore due to how fucking dominant and stupidly OP Nowi is.

You....dont have a Nowi counter on your squad? If you dont have them already, try pulling for Deirdre and/or Julia. Nowi crumples to them. Nowi is thicc, but not that difficult to take down.

So there's been speculation that July's Legendary might be Micaiah. If that's the case, I suspect there might be a Tellius banner. Any thoughts on what that potential banner could potentially be?

My thought is probably a Dawn Brigade banner with Laura, Nolan, another version of Sothe, and Meg (which kinda upsets me because...Brom), with one of them being a TT unit.

Assuming there even is a Tellius banner and assuming Micaiah is July's Legendary, of course.

Dude, Legendary Micaiah would own. But i want Legendary Elincia. Naesala when omg  Legendary Elincia, flying healer with Wrathful so she can hurt stiff too

  6. One must question why on earth it matters if a voting gauntlet in a spin off game has any kind of gender ratio. Considering women often win these, with maybe three male winners since launch, having a vg of all badass dudes is actually refreshing. Also, the US being one of the worst nations for gender equality in the industrialized world, has....literally nothing to do with this vg.

    :KnollRoll:

im backing my BBQ Boi, Arvis. If he gets beat, its Sigurd. If Sig gets beat, i guess its Marth. But Jugdrals have my priority.

It was in another topic that someone had a link with this image, though most people must know about it, but nonetheless I found it intresting. The said image pretty much comfirms the existance of a avatar/protagonist/MU which explains why byleth roams around, talks with Edelgard and seems to be a persona type protag.

THINK that the image is below?

    fire-emblem-three-houses-fact-sheet.jpg

Oooo some kind of ecclesiastical political shit goin on, sign me the fuck up!

Also, yeah. Its saying your mu moves freely and interacts. Apparently, they are a unit too, as someone pointed out them doing a crit. But looks like they arent like, the main lord. It's intriguing. Im likely to save for a Switch. I gotta have this game.

And he's the first Bow lord! I have a feeling he's going to be great.

I feel bad for Dimitri, everyone loves the other 2 more. Watch how it'll get memed.

Yeet. Poor Dimitri looks like Clive and Fernand's manbaby.

I also understand the longing for body type diversity. We need more of that too. Im here for buff men and women. Especially buff women.

As a dark toned fellow myself, I'm all for more diversity, especially for characters that look more like African people. I just hope that whatever dark skinned characters in the future will actually have bigger lips, wider nose, bushy hair texture, and ect. But I'm completely cool with this not being the case. For one, I don't want to be one of those dudes who snaps at others because of the lack of people that have features like mine. Plus, I can't really picture a legit African descent  person being in an anime without him/her looking a bit weird.

Basilio looked pretty good by being a more Afro-designed dude  so it can be done in animu style

It's the best option, as I viewed the other options being "Ambiguously Brown", which would be disrespectful imo. Or listing off "Black/Hispanic/Arabic/Indian" every time, which still discounts Polynesians, North American Tribesman and other groups while simultaneously being long as fuck to type.

So I went with PoC just to keep things simple.

If this is a response to what I said, I was trying to echo this same notion, just by explaining that characters probably don't think of people as "black/white/hispanic etc" the same way we think of them. Especially since it's from a Japanese developer, who also doesn't have those same concepts. So ultimately having more diverse skin tones isn't something the characters gonna draw attention to with people like Niles/Tobin in previous games, despite them being clearly different in appearance.

The thing is, we dont yet know if Claude's features have an impact. While you may be right in that no one would remark on it in-universe, that isnt really the point. Having visible diversity isnt gonna hurt. And i think its about time to hold Japan more accountable for their obsession of European beauty standards. :Cyas:

Im curious about Byleth and gameplay. Are they gonna be like Mark or Kiran? Or are thry gonna be playable? I wouldnt mind if they were more like Kiran and just a figure your guys interact with in the base/castle type thing, and not be an actual unit.

Do you think so? I was seeing him as just a darker toned character like Gray, so I'm not sure if he's intended to be a black character. Not that I care which he is, bit his design seems rather ambiguous at best.

Im not even gonna bother on the rest of your posts on the subject cuz thats a lot to unpack and i doubt eclipse would appreciate a full on discussion about that. So ill narrow it down. Representation matters. Considering how even avatars dont have dark skin options, having a lord be very obviously not white is a pretty big step. Darker skinned people in FE were never lead characters. They were either secondary (Gray, the Khans), villainous (Validar, Aversa, erc), or portrayed as a joke. (Devdan/Danved) So a main character who has very obviously not white features, is hugely story important, and a main lord, is noteworthy. Hes very dark skinned

Also, if "race doesnt matter" in FE, why not have MORE poc in the series? People being excited about Claude cuz hes so not white, is going to happen. The nation hes from might actually have people who have his level of melanin for all we know

is it me or does Edelgard look like Daenerys Targaryen with the very whiteish hair and lilac eyes? Can i be getting my A Song of Ice And Fire Emblem at last?

  12. I have never pulled a Lyn. Any Lyn. No vanilla Lyn, no alts. (Not for a lack of trying for Blyn. Blaghhh)

I do not have Falchion Lucina.

Im missing Alm and red mage Celica.

I have every Jugdral character in the game.....except any Olwen and Nanna. Ladies, come home!

No blue dancers live in my castle. :(

    Hinoka doesnt exist. At all.

Neither does Leo and i really want him.

    Sanaki refuses to come home.

Theres also a Genny shaped hole in my army.

The only Ike im missing is Brave Ike.

Playable generic units. We should have them! (and not just in DLC)

It would be nice to just have some throw away units that the game would give you in some cases such as fog wars for baiting/rushing or GTFO chapters for rushing/stalling. How they would be handled when the chapter ends is something I'm not too sure about, but playable generic units could be pretty sweet to have on some chapters here and there.

Fates gives you these if you use Capture. You can convince mooks to fight for you and can control them.

  14. He can be a bit underwhelming without a relatively expensive build, yeah. But he can also be cancer to just about any magic user ever. That res is S T U P I D high. He might be able to deal with Julia or Dierdre despite Naga tomes. Loptous rips through atk (unless dragon effectiveness) and stacks with atk ploy. Its nothing to sneeze at tbh. It does help mitigate that def of his. My only beef, is Julius' speed. Hes slow and that can be an issue. Guard is a great skill, and is quite cancerous on ranged doods. But a close counter/vantage build can be a real pain in the fanny.

Im just super glad he was free because i would have gone barking mad trying to pull him.
