  1. heya it's me again. In Hamill Canyon turn 5, when Cormag's supposed to show up the game crashes. should be the same as with Fiora in FE7 when she can't walk over water as a non-flying or pirate class on the drad isle, he can't pass the mountains if he's not a flying or bandit/'zerker class.

    Strange. For me the game doesn't crash but cormag just ends up stuck on a mountain

  2. Ok guys, we are BACK! Right at this moment I just finished chapter 9B and everything is looking good. Anyone who played the first patch that went to the split please provide feedback and such. The next patch should be around halfway through Ephraim's route or at the end of the route where the two merge. My nightmare did just crash so I gotta reopen everything but I hope to finish another chapter today. All this hack is really is going through and chaning EVERY unit to the opposite class which really is just a giant time consumer. I will finish this though! :D

  3. I once inserted music via sappy. IT TOOK FOREVER TO FIND OUT. The main problem for me is finding songs in MIDI form and how to get them to play properly after being inserted :D

    Also as for writing a tutorial after learning i would probably just copy paste everything you say in skype into a document and then post it xD

Just go use this randomizer http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=46886Sure you might have to take 5 or so mins to install python, but it's easier to use through the provided script.txt that you can modify n stuff. Also it can randomize FE8 and you won't get errors unless you do something to mess up the actual program like I have done several times when trying to find out why the hell stat boosters are given to characters thru the randomizer.

  5. How might I be able to save Ross from dying on turn one? With Vanessa not being a pegasus knight, she can't go save Ross from the bandit that will otherwise attack him.

    Ross will usually dodge the hit being on a fort and all. If he doesnt keep RNG abusing(changing the actions you do in your turn so the random number generator comes out different) until he gets a dodge. The next turn he will then run away as far as possible and heal up

  6. I always start out by saying "I'm bored." and then go on from there. I usually try to immediately frame some goal, like "I want to make an open-ended map with multiple ways of beating it" or "I think FE7 is too easy but other hard-mode hacks have too much bullshit. I'll try and do one better."

    For me, making a hack starts with a simple vision and then expands. I'm a bit haphazard though and I'm a person who will draw up an entire doc and then as I follow the doc, change everything slightly but just enough to where the end-product is completely different from how I envisioned it. It's probably because of ADHD or whatever bullshit the american medical association is labeling me now, but it seems to work out alright. My biggest failing is that I burn out sooooo easily, on everything. And if I take a break, it's almost always permanent.

    Just like klok, I will usually be really bored and then suddenly have an idea. For example when I started weapon reversal I had been sitting around doing nothing for the past hour or so and all of a sudden thought, "what if every character in fe8 had the weapon they were weak to?"I then stayed up all night with hype and made most of it. Then, as some may have noticed, I got bored of the project because, as usual, it got tedious. Burn out op. I have planned on coming back to weapon reversal soon tho

    Thanks klok. Hopefully I'll get around to completing my entire fix patch with promotion gains for every class and monster classes ect. I would've had it done along time ago but my laptop factory reset and I never uploaded it.

  8. Alright every time I try this I randomize the rom then I open nightmare open the fe8 modules and I get this. \\

    I'm sick of units who use magic in vanilla reclassed into sword units waggling their magical swords of death to kill people

    Yeah my fix patch had the following:

    Monster Classes included in randomization

    Monster/Female classes had promotion gains

    Weapon level fix for all characters

    A way to promote monsters

    Fixed the Legendary tome glitch where mages would almost always get the S rank dark tome

    And a way to buy all of the monster weapons

    I think that was all of it

  10. Never mind, I figured out how to use a different randomizer (Epriham 255's I believe.)

    This randomizer is way better in my opionon. Opening the rom with in the run file never worked for me either. All you have to do is drag the script.txt file into run and it should work

  11. Hey klok, how do you plan on making people promote to more than 2 classes? For example, Vanessa can promote to 14 different options. Do you do this through different items or something, becuase as far as I know, the nightmare modules and other editors only allow 2 possible promotions.

  12. I can't wait to see all of these different characters with differnt classes in game! I know everyone can most likey be a tactician with no problems, since all dlc classes use the tactician animation/map sprite if you dont have the dlc installed and are fighting for example an outream team with dreadfighters or bride.

  13. YOU. ARE. A. GOD. One of the things i hated in hacking was coming up with my own maps, I know I sound lazy, but I mean come on being creative is hard. It took me mabey a month or 2 to make and polish my prolouge map for project Juan, and even then it was still not all that great. Thank you SO much :D

  14. over on tsr, it looks like ploaj has wrapped up the sprite dumps, and a few things caught my eye while looking through the spotpass portrait dumps. namely, unused characters! there's portraits for fe7!bartre, ninian and fe12's default-build male avatar; unlike the used ones, none of them have the card pattern backing applied to them. there are also a few duplicate instances of 11!marth and 12!marth's portraits without the backing, which look like they're just filling space

    there's also yet another dummy silhouette portrait among them, this one with the spotpass card backing; i THINK the silhouette's the same one used on dlc units when the sd card's not in, but the backing itself isn't the same dlc one used in such a case

    hardly a mystery why ninian and arguably 12!avatar were cut, but there you go

    I wonder what class they wouldv'e made FE12 MU. They probs didnt put him in cause of that and Ninian because of the dancer animation probably being olivia exlusive.

    Plz senpai no dont change the name. I actually have called my grandmother that for my whole life so its quite funny to see it in a game i play and love :D. Also keep up the good work Alfred
