Do you read the manga? If so I think Sasori is being used as Kankuro's new puppet. It looked like he had the same hair and the same hand cannon.

I read the manga more then I watch the japeneese show. It may not get as much detail as the show but it also doesn't get the fillers. Still a great manga/show whichever you like. If I had to guess Sasori is your faveorite Akatsuki. He shouldn't have died like that!
