General Spoon
So, exactly how bad of an idea do you think tripping is? Edited January 9, 2009 by General Spoon
uguu
One of the worse ideas evur. Although it doesn't usually bother me. I jump too much.
Fox
Tripping is a charming little reminder from the developers: "Hey, this is a party game, and don't you forget it." It's a not-so-polite slap in the face for the tourneyfags.
Swordsalmon
I've not played much of Brawl, but tripping probably is the absolute worst addition made. Edited January 6, 2009 by Swordsalmon
Dr. Tarrasque
Worst idea ever. Don't think I need to elaborate why >_>
Clonez
Tripping wasn't the worst idea ever. Adding tripping to Brawl was the worst idea ever.
Icon of Sin
Shit happens even during a fight. You probably all tripped at least once while running or walking on ice. I don't mind it much.
Florete
I once last a match as a result of tripping five times throughout...
Judas
probably on the same tier of bad ideas as making the game in the first place
Doom103
Who voted One of the worst ideas ever? Cause I will kill you! Electing Bush was a better Idea than putting tripping in brawl DESITNY HERO JOINING WAS A BETTER IDEA!
Masu
I once last a match as a result of tripping five times throughout... against me : D tripping was the most amazing idea EVAR. It saved me from getting FSed in the face over 20 times ^_^
dondon151
I don't get the poll options; they're ranging from bad to worse which is redundant.
The Blind Archer
^ That's because the poll creator expected everyone to be complaining about a small mechanic that rarely influences the flow of the game.
La Yodha Stasella
tripping before getting a falcon punch is fun, duh, however out of the random tripping it's implemented in certain techniques
Krevin
Tripping is a charming little reminder from the developers: "Hey, this is a party game, and don't you forget it." It's a not-so-polite slap in the face for the tourneyfags. Actually, that's completely contradictory to what I was gonna say here. Tripping has advantages and disadvantages. If you're chasing after your enemy, it's a bad thing because it gives them a chance to attack you. However, tripping gives a few invincibility frames (during the trip, not when you land) so if you accidentally run into somebody's attack, there's a small chance of you not being punished. In essence, it increases the luck factor of Brawl, which is nice because the only thing close to luck that you needed to frequently worry about in Melee was the cloud on Yoshi's Island (err, Yoshi's Story? whichever one was a neutral stage), and Game&Watch's neutral-special and side-special, neither of which are used much by higher-level players. Zanarkin
Actually i don't mind tripping that much. It doesn't happens as much as it used to.
Father Wood
I don't really care about the addition of tripping.

Metal Rabbit
I don't like it, but lucky tripping has saved me from KOs before. :

Increasing luck in any competitive game detracts from its competitiveness.
Kintenbo
I trip ALL the time. It drives me batty! It doesn't help that it happens when the opponent is vulnerable. It'd be nice if tripping was just for ice surfaces and banana peels.

Killer Poleax
It's horrible. Worst idea ever. My characters trip all the time, especially when I'm about to finish them. So f'ing annoying. Edited January 7, 2009 by KSFF2150
Blaze340
I find it amusing. Especially during tight matches where I got 30% and my opponent has 90%. He would have Ike or some other heavy hitting character, he uses smash attack, I try dodging it only to fall right beneath the stupid attack, resulting in a lost because the attack can kill so easy at that point.
