Step it up Also, write about why people look into books too much just to get a lot of stuff to write about them. Hopefully quotes and a bibliography can take up a couple of pages. Hero Posted March 5, 2009 Share Posted March 5, 2009 I've written papers a lot longer than that before, but never so open-ended. The truest path to a good grade, I think, would probably be to go on a tangent from something you've already discussed in class--your teacher will likely be very sympathetic toward you if you show an interest in what he/she has brought into class, and follow it. I have a feeling that a less relevant topic, like Pokemon or why men are interested in breasts, will cause the teacher to not take you seriously, and jeopardize your chances at winning a good grade unless you are able to do a completely stellar job, which is a lot more work. Also, if it's completely open regarding topic, here's an idea: internet subcultures. I think topics in that field that would be easier to write a good paper about would be internet memes, or how humor and culture cultivated on the internet has affected people in the real world. I'm positive there must be lots of quasi-academic sources on both of those. But again, I think the best route would be to do something related to your class.
