I got engaged yesterday

The sum of our ages is 35 years, 2 months (give or take). We've been together less than 10 months. Yet we know, we want to be together for the rest of our lives.

As you might be able to guess, I'm pretty excited and happy about it. I've also shocked all of my friends with the news, since they think we're too young/haven't been together long enough. I'd agree with them, if I wasn't so sure about it myself.

So, yeah. Now all of you who care, know, and all of you who don't, why did you even read this far anyway?

I'm not surprised some people think we are. Thanks for the concern. But we've always been carving our own path, doing things our way, and while I've heard lots of stories of teenage marriages that break apart, we both think it's right and we're confident we want to be together.

As for time, it could be anywhere from 2-5 years from now when we actually get married. That's actually a fair bit of time to change our minds :P.

First of all, congrats. Hopefully it doesn't end in a nasty mess.

Secondly, whase, age honestly does not have to terribly much to do with Marriage. You could be married in most parts of the US as early as 16, with parents accepting it. Besides, engaged is not married. It just is the precursor to such.

Don't let other people bring it down dood. Hopefully she is a cutie.
