Mirron
Hey. I'm not quite good at spriting, and hopefully this isn't a big request, but was wondering if anyone would mind taking Lucius' color scheme and applying it to a Shaman and/or Druid. Hopefully this makes sense in and of itself, but if not, I can try and explain it. Like, taking Canas' Shaman color scheme as the example, the purple would be the blond/yellow color of Lucius' hair, the small yellow part would be the white, and the blackish gray would be blue. Does that make sense? Thank you in advance for even reading this, and thank you even more if anyone decides to do it. Sorry if it's a big request... I don't know too much about spriting... :(
Ansem
You can do it yourself, just recolor =l
Chocolate Kitty
? Or am I missing this
Mirron
Oh... it's just recoloring? I don't know... eh, I'll just delete this topic.
Ansem
maybe you can be a little more specific?
Mirron
Nah, it would just be something that would be recoloring I guess, but don't really have any art programs. And... can't delete this. Sorry. :(
Nanami Touko
Use Microsoft Paint.
Mirron
Is it a free program? I don't seem to have it on my computer. At least didn't turn up when I looked for it.
eclipse
What operating system are you using?
Nanami Touko
If you're running Windows and you don't have Microsoft Paint, well uh... you've probs got a bad version of Windows. If you're using Mac, or Linux, well, never mind then.
Mirron
Windows, and didn't turn up when I looked for it. Not actually my computer, so maybe got deleted for whatever reason.
eclipse
Start -> Accessories -> Paint If that doesn't work. . .there's the GIMP, but that's kind of hard to use.
Inactive Account
It should show up as Paint under the Accessories menu, unless someone deleted it. The GIMP is a free image editor you can download, and has more features than Paint. Joerachi
Join the PDN Side. Just for starters, it's not actually called 'Microsoft Paint', just 'Paint'.
Mirron
Ah. Would explain it then. Search is rather finicky. Even when I know I have something and I try searching for it things won't turn up. Guess I do have it. Now I just need to figure out which colors to put where. Seems tricky, since the Shaman color scheme uses more colors than Lucius has in some areas, or so it looks like so far. iavasechui
I use paint.net because layers have saved me from more screw ups than I'm willing to count and shift + paintbucket make recoloring go so much faster. And the best part is that its freeware because I totally cannot afford photoshop
Mirron
Gah, every time I save it, it messes up the colors. I'd need to do it all in one go, and even then, I wouldn't be able to do much about it. Looked at the Shaman though, looked nice. :)
Inactive Account
What filetype are you saving as? Saving as a jpeg will corrupt an image like mad. For sprites, you want PNG or GIF format.
Mirron
Says .gif. And I don't change the filetype any, so it should still be the same.
Nanami Touko
Don't save as a GIF, save it as a BMP (24 colors) or a PNG.
Mirron
Alrighty then, I'll try that. :) Just checked, and it seemed like it worked. Now I have to redo all my work. Wonder how my method with .BMP though. Guess we'll see what happens.
