Captured Anphony Castle and everyone's over there. Now I'm seeing Mackily and Agusty soldiers pop out. Could anyone give me an idea on how to approach these guys? There are also some bow users on a cliff and it looks like going through the mountain range is the most efficient way to get to them, but that'd take a while and I'm not sure who to take there.

Ayra has the Shield Ring, Lachesis has the Elite Ring, and Levin has the Bargain Ring.

Also, I notice that Generals here seem a lot better than Generals in other FE games. I've only been used to them using either swords, lances, or axes, but never all three, plus bows.

It's a trap! Sadly, the only characters who can be Generals are both horrible. Plus, they get outdone by those enemy Barons.

Levin's only just got the Bargain Ring, well done on getting it. Edain's a good candidate for it a little later.

Deal with them in low numbers (the squads that move against you) and keep Deirdre on the cliff area next to Mackily, near some villages, she can Silence the bishop (possibly if her Mag is greater than the Bishop's Res) and make it easier to beat him and his soldiers. Watch out for the archers, they are ballistaes if I recall correctly.

Personally, I used Cuan, Ethlin, Sigurd and Lex for taking out most enemies. Ayra to weaken/kill the bishop.

Yeah, giving Aideen the Bargain Ring sounds pretty good considering she can't rely on getting gold from the Arena like everyone else, so gold's a lot more precious to her and repairing her staves. I'm sure that when she promotes to High Priest, this won't be as much as a problem. She's level 12 with 42 Relive uses, which is a little over enough to get her to level 20 to promote if she uses the staff completely, assuming Warp is never used by then.

Anyway, still on Chapter 2. Did a little bit of fighting in the Arena and I'm having the enemy soldiers come our way since it looks easier that way. Levin has the Pursuit Ring and is about to recruit Fury. Deirdre is going through the forest to reach the cliff near Mackily so that she'll be ready to use Silence on Clement when the rest of the guys get there.

Ardan now has the Skill Ring and the Speed Ring.

Lex and Ayra are probably going to be lovers at this pace.

Speaking of Ayra, she currently has the Armor Cutter, but I'm thinking about giving this to Fury since it sounds more useful to her than Ayra, who already has the Shield Ring and her Skills to give her a better time when fighting armored units. Either way, I think Fury ought to get some kind of sword.

Also, there's really a gold cap? I noticed this while Levin was in the Arena and stopped getting gold after 50000.

Yeah, 50k is the gold limit.

You want to be really careful and not have Lex and Ayra fall in love till next chapter though. One turn 1, they can talk and Ayra will get a Brave Sword, plus a boost to their love points that'll probably be high enough to pair them.

Oh, I was curious... Suppose one of the castles you captured gets recaptured by an enemy. Would that ever affect anything in the long run?

Also, who should have the Sleep and Libro staves? I was thinking Deirdre should definitely have Libro, but as for Sleep, I'm unsure...

Dierdre can't participate in chapter 3, and the rest of time for a pretty spoilerific reason. Just sell all of her stuff now.

If it is captured by the enemy, you can reseize, unless a second enemy destroys it. When a castle is maintained, everyone gets 1000 gold for each castle that is maintained.

Libro should go to Aideen.

Sleep is usually pretty useless and a waste of money.

You do get the Game Over if the main castle is taken over.

Sell ALL of Deirdre's stuff (except her Aura tome, I never sold it and just left it with her but your call on it), she won't be able to be used any longer, spoilers but you'll learn why in chapter 3.

Usually, I gave Libro and Sleep to Aideen. I had her promoted most of the time by then and when she fights in the arena she can give good use to the Sleep staff. Libro definitely goes to Aideen.

Can Lachesis use the two staffs you asked about? I sorta doubt it unless Lachesis can use A Staves (she can use Sleep if she has B)... interestingly enough I just played through and beat FE4 in like 3 days, its not a hard game unless you get really cocky in second generation about Holsety Arthur. Like _really_ cocky (and multiple 10% hits connecting doesn't really help).

Lachesis is _really_ good once you get her to Master Knight. It's kind of a big if, but I got her to be one by Chapter 4 Turn 1 and I don't think I was babying Lachesis much at all (or I might've been, bad short term memory). Healbotting really helps her cause.

Lachesis as a Princess has a staff rank of C, so she can't use either of those staves. When deciding on who to give these to, I was looking at Ethlin, Aideen, or Dierdre, but since Ethlin already has enough and Aideen already had something, I was leaning towards Dierdre to have some kind of healing staff to use to take advantage of the fact that she could use them. However, if she's not supposed to be sticking around for long, I suppose I could try give both of these staves to Aideen. I might have to wait until next chapter to get her Silence due to expenses, though.

I guess I should also get the Magic Ring off of her, too? Azel's probably the best candidate for it. As for Aura, I might as well sell it for the gold and in the end have her give it all to Sigurd. Seems best that way.

Mmmm, not so sure this should be like spoiler.

Maybe you should know this too, Ethlin, Cuan, and Fin won't hang out all of the 1st Gen But if you're still in Chapter 3 don't worry about this, just train them the most you can without leaving aside the rest of the units. It's not necessary to sell their items or weapons, they will be inherited for the 2nd Gen (Ethlin to son, Cuan to daughter).

Azel and Aideen where my best bets for Magic Ring, ended up not selling it because I just moved onwards without thinking. It really depends on what you wish to get, Azel will give you a slight offensive boost with his magic tomes, while Aideeen will be capable of healing bigger wounds.

Some advice before the Lenster Three leave, jack Fin's Hero Lance. He won't need it. Sell Cuan's everything and sell Ethlin's Staffs, since her son can't inherit them anyway.

Azel will give you a slight offensive boost with his magic tomes, while Aideeen will be capable of healing bigger wounds.

Honestly, Aideen heals pretty much ALL HP with a Relive after a few levels, unless Sigurd is level 30 at chapter 3, in which case, your doing it wrong.

When exactly do Cuan, Ethlin, and Fin leave again? I'm a little confused on that.

And if Fin is leaving as well, who should have the Hero Lance? Fury?

Beginning of Chapter 4.

@Hero Lance: Fury's the only one who makes really good use of it at the time, Sigurd can use swords. Noish if you train him can benefit, but Fury wants it more.

If Sigurd's Level 30 at Chapter 3, you're probably not doing it wrong but you're probably also finishing the first gen in like 30 turns and getting lucky.

Or you're drafting :P.

Fury's a very good candidate for the Hero Lance. She can actually pass it down to Fee, which is nice. Fin can cope without it. The Lenster trio leave at the beginning of chapter 4, before your first turn.

Cuan, Ethlin and Fin leave at the end of Chapter 3 and will not be available for the rest of the 1st Generation. Cuan and Ethlin will pass on any items to their children (reversed, so their daughter get's Cuan's items and vice versa). Cuan needs only to pass on one item (you'll know what I mean when the time comes) and Ethlin can only pass on swords so sell her staves and (if she has any) lances.

Fin will... well I'm not going to spoil but if he isn't paired his items will be useful in Gen 2 so it isn't necessary to offload everything unless it's particularly useful (i.e. the Hero Lance). If he is paired normal inheritance rules apply so sell all his lances and any items you don't want him to pass on.

You probably do want to give the Hero Lance to Fury as she needs something that packs a bit more punch than a Slim Lance. A Silver Lance is good but she can only use it after promotion and can't pass it on to her daughter. You might also want to give her a sword (I recommend a Slim Sword) because she can use them even before promotion. Falcon Knights can use staves so she'll probably want a Live staff after promotion too.

I don't think they are the same, but that would be funny :XD:

Anyways, Aideen with Bargain ring means you can have easier access to the staves she will have a good use if having high magic and also repairing them when needed; Alec, well I left that lance with Fin but Alec can be more useful with it, when he promotes even more.
