So, the Lord's name is "Krom"?

I read it as similiar to Crumb, but not as soft in the beginning--hard, leading Kr. Similar to the post beneath this one. I didn't see the emphasis to say Kr-ooooh-muh in the kana.

Krom is also used in Borderlands for one of the bosses, though I don't know its reason for it. It's a word in several European languages as well.

ロム is commonly used in lieu of ROM.

Hmm, well it could go either way, but given that クロム means Chrome or Chromium in Japanese, and is therefore likely a loanword, I'm going to to say Chrome.

Great, are we going to see Krom VS Chrome name arguments, too?

It's a new game with new names that aren't officially translated. When aren't there arguments over names in that situation?

I'll just stick to Krom until IS gives us an official Japanese name to use.

That's how Mikaya vs Micaiah was decided.

Yeah they usually post some form of official art or other info that verifies the romanized spelling of the name.

Except Micaiah sounds like a name

Krom/Chrome is like that merc/myrm in chapter 3 of FE1, with more than one variation being a valid name.

Except it doesn't. Inherited linguistics are the deciding factor in what a person recognizes as "normal" spelling and "uncanny." Mikaya sounds more like a name to me than Micaiah simply because my exposure to certain language over others.
