Yeah, rumors is one of the first things they teach you about. Haven't really messed with it yet tho.

Some rumors let new or higher quality materials appear in the gathering areas, too. It's nothing too important right now, especially because you won't have much Cole for a while, but it's something to keep in mind, as some quests can be made easier with a rumor active.

Classic Atelier is gonna be a trip once I get around to it.

I can only echo that Delsus guy here: "What the hell!?" XD

How Lulua looks: uWu imma cutie

How she acts and sounds: Imma Kick your ass if you don't listen to me, Mister! Lulua Kicko!

That's why Lulua is the best.
When I first saw her, I thought she'd be a very quiet, friendly type of girl. Think Nepgear or something similar to that. Then I got the game and I was immediately proven wrong.

Atelier protagonists typically fall into those two categories, sometimes in between.

And then there's Logy.

That they do. Totori is more in-between with a sharp tongue added, Meruru even moreso.
And Sophie is overall the most wholesome out of all of them. From the games I've played, at the very least.

Me: "Don't tell me. We're about to enter a new area with overlevelled enemies?"
XC2: "Yep."
Me: "No way to escape once they've spotted you?"

I'm enjoying TMS#FE more than I thought I would, which says a lot about my steering from games with post-endgame grind (God Eater 3, Daemon X Machina--incidentally, Marvelous was involved in the development of both games) and more into good ol' turn-based action. Considering that the last RPG I played (no, not counting Three Houses, obviously) was Octopath Traveler, I found the Session mechanic a welcome twist to the turn-based bit we are all but used to. Seems like I won't mind this being 50% of my game purchases this month (the other 50% being Trails III) after all.

Get punished.

Oh yeah, CSIII for Switch will come out at the end of the month, and I have no time to play it because I fell in love with Atelier.

Still have to sell my PS4 copy.

Maybe it's a good opportunity to check out, if Gamestop is still stingy with its money in buying used games.

Seriously I would like to sell to someone here, but I assume everyone here has CSIII already (of the people who are interested in this).

So, finished the CS3 demo
Impressions:

  • While i kinda enjoyed it, not so much as to buy day 1. Waiting for Sale (& crossbell)
  • Music bad
  • Art style is bad. Too much same face. The opening was disgusting
  • Too much Rean worshipping, but hopefully this time around he will earn it and not get it handed to him like in CS1/2
  • Rean and Altina seems to be going through a rough phase in their relationship. They breaking up or something? xD
  • They are copying CS1 1 to 1, down to Schoolmagoria and boob accident. Poor guy didn't deserve the slap
  • Brave Orders seem to be quite broken
  • Seems also they nerfed Arts to hell, atleast from the delay values.
  • Juna's weapon switch gimmick seems cool.
  • Small Cast yes!
  • TITTTTTTTTTTTTTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
  • Altina is a Neptunia CPU
  • Tita is voiced by Annette's VA, right?
  • Can we move on from Rean already.
  • No seriously enough with that guy.
  • Olivier should've been CS arc mc like by original Plans.

Night is over early thanks to loud Rain. ;/

Tita does not have Annette's voiceactor.

And I agree, CSIII's soundtrack was not impressing at all, at least none of themes I have heard yet could get me.

Spoiler

Blue Destination will be the best theme for sure.

Also CSIII's deluxe edition for PS4 was on sale till past weekend, unless you were referring to the Switch version.

The OP enemies and especially me are a lot less pretty, but you get the point, I believe.

Yup.

And here I was, trying my hardest to see their relationship as a older/younger sibling or even father/daughter one and to ignore the (quite blatant at times) romantic undertones. Welp, I guess that's out of the window now. XD
You ruined it!

If I didn't know any better, I'd think you hate Rean or something. But that's impossible, right? I mean, how could anyone hate that guy?
Seriously though, he's at his best in CS3. If that "best" equals "good" may differ from person to person, however.

It's actually Sakura's from Fates. Or Est's from Echoes, if you prefer.

There is someone from Three Houses in the game, however: none other than Claude's voice actor himself, who voices Kurt. Also Altina, who is voiced by Marianne's voice actress.
Juna, meanwhile shares her voice actress with Karikaro from Dragon Star Varnir and Harley from Fairy Fencer F, while Musse is Palla from Echoes.

My sentiments exactly.
Though I do like how Kurt was all like "Just get it over with already." XD

Umm, about that...

It is. Though it only changes properties for her normal attacks (single target and normal damage -> multiple targets and slightly lower damage). Her Crafts are unaffected by it.

So, Xenoblade 2's Chapter 4 had an... interesting ending. And chapter 5 opened on a "what the actual hell?!?" moment, which was pretty great.
The music when that Shrine Maiden-esque girl showed up was amazing. It does sound like a villain theme, though, so I'm kinda getting worried here.
Also, I found what I would consider the most beautiful area I've seen yet. So, so pretty.

Here's a temporary Xenoblade 2 character ranking:
ZekeNATOR > Vandham > Nia = Mythra > Dromarch > Roc > Morag = Brighid > Azurda (a.k.a. "Gramps") > Poppi > Pyra > Tora > Rex > Jin > Malos > those damned birds in Torigoth > that one level 81 gorilla, also in Torigoth > Akhos

Okay, so I just started Vert's part, and I gotta say, those... ripped slimes... have scarred me.

Yeah, they were pretty "WTF" for me too when I first saw them. XD

10 minutes ago, lightcosmo said:

Also, Blanc's part was pretty difficult to begin.

Yup, it's basically luck based if you even manage to reach the town of Lowee, because there are random encounters on the world map in the original Megadimension VII.
Don't know if they kept it for the VII-R version, though.

One thing to keep in mind: unlike the other Neptunia games, where she was the biggest tank, magic will absolutely slaughter Blanc in this game, so I suggest prioritizing equipment that raises magic defense for her.

Dang Falcom, you and Brovett are going toe to toe in terms of profile pic changes. I'm gonna have to start athread where I count who gets more in 2020 and everyone can guess if you keep going like that.

Malos is a bad guy, but he's awesome in being that.

Would be in my top tier list of Xeno 2's tierlist.

But since I'm speaking of Xeno 2, everyone is great at worst.

I never played a videogames with a that high quality character cast.

Also nice game.

Then I will do my best to try you keeping busy.

I could name quite a few games where I liked the characters overall better than this one, honestly. Granted, I haven't finished the game yet, but that's the current stance I have.

... And now I'm getting roadblocked by some unique monster thingy, because other randoms join in the fight constantly and the thing itself can disable healing. Great. Just what I needed.
Not to sound self-congratulating, but just a few years ago, I would have most likely already ragequit the game and never touched or even looked at a Xeno game again. Ever since I kinda stopped playing Pokémon, my tolerance for frustration has gone up, surprisingly. I wonder if there is a connection between the two...

I was bored, and I tried in five minutes to create a... semblance... of Lora in XCX:

Spoiler

IMG-2062.jpg

That red is terrible, she deserved better. It'd be a lot of work, but I'd like to be able to pick my gears' shades, X2.

I'm also realizing that for as many options as the XCX character customization as there are, a few details elude it. No eyebrow selection or eyebrow color, I was going to try straightening the eyebrows to match Lora. And I couldn't find a real strong orange when I spent a few seconds contemplating copying Elly. You could tattoo the roman numeral "XII" across your forehead, but no other number oddly.

Whilst you get no shortage of colors for character customization, it doesn't have the option of picking a color by adjusting hue, saturation, and brightness sliders, which are how you pick colors for a Skell's armor, no prefab color squares to pick from. With as many color options as is, I can understand why the sliders don't exist for human customization in XCX.

X2, please include cameo gear sets. If BotW could have 9 DLC armor sets, one even being of Rex, then X2 deserves at least as many. I'd pick:

  1. Shulk
  2. Dunban
  3. Fiora
  4. Melia
  5. Rex
  6. Mythra
  7. Malos
  8. Lora
  9. Addam (buuuut this final slot is better given to Pyra to avoid being accused of Mythra bias)

Though honestly, I'd in an ideal world take everyone playable and important in 1&2+Torna san Riki & Tora. Brighid would be unlikely though, that dress might be too tight around the legs to work with the standard running animation.

There is another minor problem, other than the bunny suit and L & Celica's attire, all XCX gear can be worn by both genders, albeit looking different between them. I'd prefer it be kept this way, but that'd require what some might consider oddities- Pyra's clothes adjusted for a male? Meredith Light Wear says they can do it for sure, but would they seriously put the effort into that, or just lock her attire to females? If FFXIV lets men dress as Nier's 2B, then for X2 Pyra for men is in order.

Also, you can't put hairstyles in the gear section, those would have to be right in the character creator. More options are always better, even if high-quality 3D modeling is probably the bane of a lot of game development nowadays.

Since X had Shulk and Fiora's VAs carry over as "Classic" options, it'd be pleasant if, in addition to S&F's VAs returning, that they'd pick one "XC2 Classic" for each gender too. Rex might be a tad too kiddish, so Zeke would be the male choice or Tora for laughs, Jin for sorrow, Malos for kicks, or Amalthus because life is suffering. The female choice would be much more contested, even if Pyra or Mythra because the female lead is an argument.

DQXI:

Spoiler

First, I went to Gallopolis, since the title screen was showing that giant fireball over it. The Erdwin's Lantern bit was short and peculiar, I await more knowledge about what it was and the Sultan has to stop funding that horse race with national treasures.

Then it was the Hotto revisit, a tad lacking narratively because it was so short, but I did like how the boy had to remember to speak haiku, yet his sister never did, oddly. The twist was obvious, but the boss having three attacks was not expected at all. Only afterwards did I remember the importance of Kabuff for my durability, earlier bosses would've been far easier if I hadn't forgotten what was a basic tenet of earlier DQs- Kabuff to mitigate physical thrashings. DQIV's bosses demanded that.

Visited the Watcher, they're sorta charming. The Battleground was a lengthy dungeon, no boss was a bit off, but thats what Hotto was for. The Overkilling Machines live up to their name, a common enemy with uncommon deadliness.

With the new Sword of Light, I was bit surprised the Fortress of Fear was next. Missing two Orbs and the Ultimate Key, I knew it wasn't obviously the finale.

But, I took the time now to do the optional quests, it didn't take too long, though the riddle quest stumped me and I had to look up the answer. I got the hint, I just never realized the homonym in play- "Steal" and "Steel". I should've gotten the Sage's Stone sooner, it isn't much weaker than Multiheal, and being MP-free is awesome for sustainability. Fullheal on Rab I see makes, except for Multiheal, Magical Mending suddenly an irrelevant stat, a tad like SMT and the Healing Expertise passive not mattering once Mediarahan arrives.

I bought and crafted all the costumes I could too. I spent 52k on Hendrik's evil armor, but I had 300k on hand b/c I never normally bought stuff, so the 52k price was fine.

I checked online for tips on the Casino jackpot, I won it via roulette once for 30000 tokens for the quest, again for 1 million, and I did it again for another 1 million which took quite a while to hit, much longer than the first two. I might go for a third million, just because it's tempting, if totally unnecessary. I bought the classic Gringham Whip to give Sylvando a new trick, he has no shortage of SP to invest as he wants now, a little sad about his potential. And I got Baurem's Bell for old DQVIII memories, and the recipe book, and the bikini, the shield recipe, and the slot-counter item.

After this, it was off to Tickington for all the new Pastwords places I hadn't visited. Some of the stuff was easy because I waited so long, and Baramos was brutal, how did I not lose? I ran out of MP on Rab, Sylvando and Hendrik, and Serena died early on. Confusion and being blown away created chaos intermixed with spells and breaths that miraculously never wiped me out. Baramos was durable to boot.

Some of the old DQ locations were lazily done- two visits to the Baramos Castle, two trips to the Roamers' Camp, and two Chateux Felix visits was a waste. Yet, I praise Enix for having Tickington at all, and for having the entire main game in 16-bit too, I can't criticize them much too seriously on a little reuse. And pixilating the giant Sabrecat of Chateau Felix is itself an achievement for which praise is due. Did I mention I liked the Jessica and personality books quest? That, the Alltrades of old men wanting to be bunny girls, and the Metal King Slime wanting vengeance on humanity were all funny.

Speaking of MKSes, Electro Light, which I experimented with once pre-Tickington to see exactly what it does, started giving me Metal King Slimes. I got a few (and some Killing Machines) and slew 'em for tremendous EXP as I ventured through the 16-bit world, few double levelups from how tremendous the gain was. I got back to 300k in gold too from all the random encounter fighting. Electro Light and Hallelujah were great Pep Power ideas.

But, now I'm ready for the Fortress of Fear, to be tackled as soon as I begin my next play session.
