The game does seem to have a really nice feel to it. Not just the fundamental mechanics but also the stages and items. It's difficult to describe, it's just really nice. Way better then back in Brawl, I believe.

A small annoyance for me is that the Sonic cast now got themselves German voice actors. I guess the cast isn't bad... but the translation is another story. "Chaos Kontrolle!" Yeah, I know it's difficult to tell when translating from Eng to Ger but it was called Chaos Control in Japan as well. So there is no need to translate that. Makes me wonder how the German cast called the Chaos Emeralds in the last few Sonic games. And I really wonder how "You're too sloooow?" turned into "Lichtgeschwindigkeit". That's not something I would spam in multiplayer.

On the bright side, planting Captain Falcon's fiery fist firmly into Robin's face "Twas a thing of beauty" as they would say. I have to admit, using the quotes of Robin and her psychopathic fellowship of asskissers when beating her sorry ass is a lot of fun. It's just too bad so many of them are directly about killing. I just can't stomach those, even against Robin.

The english version was changed to "Sonic Speed!" Which is probably why the german version was also changed.

In my area a lot of Walmarts will break street date around 12 hours early because they don't give a damn, I assume it's the same for others as well. Haven't actually been able to check yet today though, planned on doing so after my last class of the day

So that's a thing that actually happened. I forgot that Sonic got a new English voice actor since Brawl, so I didn't consider it a possibility that they would have re-recorded (let alone rewritten) his lines. I wonder if the new line is a more accurate translation from the Japanese one. That would explain how it might have ended up differently during the localization of this game..

Oh, that explains it. I preorder at GameStop and they don't break street dates. At least around here.

Well, today is the actual release day in Germany appearently. You can see the date at the German version of the Smash Bros site:

http://www.smashbros.com/de/ It seems to be lagging now, though. But that might just be me. (btw, the second date is the one for the E-Shop version)

It's probably because tomorrow is a public holiday over here. "German Unity Day" or something like that. So they can't sell it at Friday, like it would normally be the case.

Man, getting that Poltergust Luigi trophy is going to take some time... ._.

I wish you could change the color of the football helmet. Then I'd make a Pittsburgh Steelers player Mii (probably Antonio Brown because of his accidentally kicking Spencer Lanning in the face in NFL Week 1 lol).

It's nice that your given up to 4 hammers to automatically get a prize if you have trouble unlocking any of these the normal way!

That must be what I'm thinking of then, because I definitely recall seeing a video where a Yoshi swallowed a giant Jigglypuff over and over and she kept getting bigger.

So excited for this midnight release!

The only thing that sucks is that we still have school (and work for the older than me) tomorrow. Luckily, 10 battles won't take THAT long and I'll have Ness in no time.

I have the decision of getting up at 9 and getting it when Gamestop Opens, playing for two hours before going to the only lecture I have tomorrow at 11. Sleeping in until 11, heading to the lecture and then playing it without stop. Or just getting up at 9, buying it and not going to the lecture at all...Hmm. Decisions, the decisions.

I was going to download the game at midnight, but I can't cancel my pre-order at Amazon, since it's preparing for shipment.

I have no idea how Amazon is going to get it to my place by tomorrow. Even with its "Guaranteed Delivery."

We'll see. If it hasn't shipped by the end of today, I'm just doing a midnight download.

I mean, who knows. I may get it tomorrow since there's an Amazon fulfillment center like a 30-minute drive from my uni.

If it doesn't, though, I'm returning it.

I has to come before 4:30 p.m. too, because my uni's post office closes, then. :<

Gamestop is offering the $10 E-guide for $2 until 10/7 (at least in the US).

Just thought I'd share

So since people have non-Japanese versions of the game, is there any sort of audio option that lets you change the voices of the characters to a different language?

From what I've heard, there isn't

HEADS UP

Patch 1.0.2 of Smash is available on the eShop to download now. Without it, you can't go online, so it's better to do so now instead of waiting to get the game since servers will likely be quite busy by then.
