Original Alear
update three years later: recent events have led me to conclude that my SAT score meant nothing and I am currently getting fucked at my second-tier university ganbatte high schoolers the real tatakai is about to hajimeru One of my supervisors gave me a good review at work and honestly that means more to me than my sat scores in terms of ego, even though my sat scores helped my parents save more money in college tuition than I've earned so far at work. Tryhard
I thought this was a new topic until I saw Chiki post. I don't know how the SAT system works but it's 70% for an A grade here which I've heard is pretty lenient by standards.
Shin
I thought this was a new topic until I saw Chiki post. I don't know how the SAT system works but it's 70% for an A grade here which I've heard is pretty lenient by standards. It was 80% down here in my day, but things probably have changed. In Crumpet (and also Bagpipe) country, our universities look at the grades you get at the end of high school, which are all nationalised exams, so you don't get teachers just giving everyone A's. A few select courses, like Medicine, Dentistry and a few Maths or Law courses use specialised entry exams. The last standardised test I did was over a decade ago and just to prove that I could count and spell my own name! I couldn't.
Rezzy
In the US, you typically need 90% to get an A. Some places, it's even 93% or higher, if they use minuses.
Junk
welp idk about SAT but to get a "5" on an AP test which is pretty much an A you need to get 60% or more i've heard. Regular assignments is usually 90% or more.
Ansem
AP tests are dumb and foster cockiness so when kids come to college they think they are the shit and get B-s source: me
Phoenix Wright
All hail the glorious IB Master Race ib is trash because it's harder and more busy work and you get less benefits from taking them at most american universities. Roxas
Yeah same It game me higher priority for class selection in freshman year than my fellow freshies was great I wish I could say the same but my school limited the amount of credit hours I could bring it to 18 credits, which meant I could only use 6 AP's (out of a total 9 I suffered for >_<)

Lord Raven
you noobs my scholarship program required me to take calc 1 again i got like a 102% on that shit, so they let me skip calc 2 and go straight into calc 3 and diff eq also i AP'd out of physics 2 but not physics 1, made no sense

I have no idea why, they tried to not give me credit for anything, but I got a 5 on the test and pretty much everyone vouched for me wasting my time if I had to take it again. I don't know if there was an upper limit on what they would have let me transfer, but I APd out of everything that was offered at my high school. AP German wasn't offered, but I tested out of German 101 and went straight into Intermediate. I took... US History Biology Calculus 1&2 (Only one to get a 5 on this in my class, yay for me) Psychology I got a 5 on everything. The started offering AP Chemistry the year after I graduated. I was going to take AP European History, but not enough people signed up for it, and the teacher who taught it was retiring, so they just cancelled the class. Lord Raven
Yeah, I got a 3 in Mechanics but 4 in E&M which is why I got out of Physics 2. I still took it anyway because I don't feel I understood it in hs I got a 3 in AP Chem, 4 in AP Stat but I didn't have to take the intro stats class anyway, and I took Calc 1 but not 2 (even though I got a 5 in both) i regret not taking an ap history course
