amadeuscho
I really like Froakie's evolution so I don't know who I will pick as the water starter, squirtle or froakie. I will probably pick only one water starter and one fire starter.
Jedi
Froakie and Bulbasaur are probably who i'm going to end up going with Frogfucius and [hopefully a Female Bulbasaur] Aerith
Randoman
Of the starters' middle stages, I'm liking the frog's the best so far. Though the final forms will be the deciding factor on the starter I choose. Mewtwo X, I'll admit I find quite neat, but I still have a burning hatred for Mewtwo for a lot of reasons. I find the shaggy dog Pokemon to be alright, I guess. I'm liking the two fossil Pokemon, especially the Brontosaurus. It's kind of strange that we only got a Brontosaurus Pokemon just now. The two cats seem very interesting, especially with the major gender and moveset differences. I wonder if they'll be considered different Pokedex entries like the male and female Nidoran families. I also wonder if it's the rumoured Espurr Pokemon from this article. As for the lion, I guess it's alright. Though fire types have always been my least favourite Pokemon type. Randoman
Oh yeah, I forgot about Tropius. I have a feeling that Tropius will receive a Mega Evolution.
Diddy Kong
Mega Tropius would be awesome! Really wanna see that to. Giga Grass type brontosaur, why not? Would probably have something related to being Flying type. I also like that Fire lion! Damn, been waiting long for this. It's evolution doesn't have the desired design though, but I'll manage. I hope it gets a 2nd evolution to. Rhyperior should get one to, cause I can't stand it otherwise. It's a great Pokémon in battle, but it's design? Horrible horrible horrible. Make it Steel and Ground also, and on four legs. Cause I miss it being a rhino.

Ema Skye
Dark types, if anything, are actually better this gen then before. Ghost types are going to be incredibly early XY because Dark and Normal types are the only types that resist it, giving it similar offensive prowess to Dragons, being resisted by one type and immune to the other. The difference is that Dragon has stronger STABs, but has one more weakness than Ghost types. And Dark types are the only type that resists Ghost types that hits them with effective STAB. Also Heatran is now has an incredible defensive typing with a 4x resist to Fairy. Also for reference for Fairy retypes, here's the defensive weaknesses/resistances of each possible Fairy retype. Normal/Fairy: Weaknesses: Steel, Poison Resists: Bug/Dark Immunities: Ghost, Dragon Fighting/Fairy Weaknesses: Fairy, Psychic, Flying, Steel, Poison Resists: Bug (x4), Dark (x4), Rock, Fighting Immunities: Dragon Flying/Fairy Weaknesses: Ice, Electric, Rock, Poison, Steel Resists: Bug (x4), Fighting (x4), Grass, Dark Immunities: Dragon, Ground Poison/Fairy Weaknesses: Steel, Ground, Psychic Resists: Fighting (x4), Bug (x4), Grass, Fairy Immunities: Dragon Ground/Fairy Weaknesses: Steel, Ice, Grass, Water Resists: Fighting, Bug, Dark, Rock Immunities: Electric, Dragon Rock/Fairy Weaknesses: Grass, Ground, Water, Steel (x4) Resists: Normal, Fire, Flying, Dark, Bug Immunities: Dragon Bug/Fairy Weaknesses: Flying, Rock, Fire, Steel Resists: Fighting (x4), Dark, Bug, Grass, Ground Immunities: Dragon Ghost/Fairy Weaknesses: Ghost, Steel Resists: Bug (x4) Immunities: Dragon, Fighting, Normal Steel/Fairy Weaknesses: Fire, Ground Resists: Bug (x4), Flying, Grass, Ice, Normal, Psychic, Rock, Fairy Immunities: Dragon, Poison Fire/Fairy Weaknesses: Ground, Rock, Water, Poison Resists: Fairy, Bug (x4), Fire, Grass, Ice Immunities: Dragon Water/Fairy Weaknesses: Grass, Electric, Poison Resists: Fire, Ice, Water, Fighting, Dark, Bug Immunities: Dragon Grass/Fairy Weaknesses: Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison (x4) Resists: Electric, Grass, Ground, Water, Fighting, Dark Immunities: Dragon Electric/Fairy Weaknesses: Ground, Poison Resists: Electric, Flying, Fighting, Dark, Bug Immunities: Dragon Psychic/Fairy Weaknesses: Ghost Resists: Fighting (x4), Psychic Immunities: Dragon Ice/Fairy Weaknesses: Fire, Rock, Steel (x4) Resists: Ice, Dark, Bug Immunities: Dragon Dragon/Fairy Weaknesses: Fairy, Ice, Poison, Steel Resists: Fighting, Dark, Bug, Electric, Fire, Grass, Water Immunities: Dragon Dark/Fairy Weaknesses: Poison, Steel, Fairy Resists: Dark (x4), Ghost Immunities: Psychic, Dragon Edited September 12, 2013 by Professor Palutena
Diddy Kong
Mightyena could count as a hyena and wolf hybrid of sorts? And Ghost has a slight advantage over Dragon now I think due to not being weak against Ice. Ice attacks are quite common. And lots of Dragons have Flying as a second type, or something otherwise weak against Ice, as Ground.
Icon of Sin
And Tropius has now officially been forever forgotten. So does the worst starter ever, but let's really forget about that abomination. Mightyena could count as a hyena and wolf hybrid of sorts? Aside of the actual lack of female dominance, it's pretty clear it's just a hyena. As for whether Dark gets a net buff or nerf, it all dépends on how common both Fairy types will be used in the metagame and how often will Fairy moves be used in it, with or without STAB, but it's not looking too pretty for Tyranitar and his seven weaknesses. If Gengar gets any decent Fairy type move though, it's going to be a fun sight to see.
Bluedoom
Water/Fairy seems like a great defensive typing. Too bad Azumarill doesn't hit hard.

Bluedoom
I was thinking of sap sipper, but that ability will do too. :3 EDIT: Well you wouldn't get sap sipper in game I guess lol. Ether
Sap Sipper gets rid of the grass weak, and will give you half a huge power bonus if you switch it in, but grass moves aren't that common anyway.
Icon of Sin
It does make Spore users think twice about it, though a misprediction might as well have your Azumarill get sent on a Bullet Seed or a Focus Punch.
FrostyFireMage
Azumarill is still far too slow to be doing much sweeping.
Icon of Sin
It has CB rain boosted Aqua Jet though. It's more of a revenge killer but it still packs a punch. Edited September 13, 2013 by Woodshooter

Fruity Insanity
Well, this game certainly seems to be creating more hype than past Pokemon games. And gotta admit, I can't wait for the game~ :3 Looking forward to Etrian Oddysey Untold and Ace Attorney, too, though, if not more so. Lord Glenn
The full type chart has been uploaded to the official site (which also confirms the CoroCoro scans) (here: http://www.pokemonxy.com/_ui/img/_en/art/Type-Matchup_chart_EN.pdf ) - of note, at the bottom, apparently Electric-type Pokemon are no longer afflicted by Paralysis? (Or was this added in Gen V?) Kinda disappointing that Steel was the only prior type that had its multipliers change for the new chart - there are other types that really could have used it. I mean, Poison is only effective against two types, and there are significantly better options to hit those types with anyway! Heck, if you wanted to nerf Steel, make it weak to Electric-type moves. The only bigger guy that doesn't get hit by it is Excadrill. (And Empoleon gets hit by the nerf bat, unfortunately.)
