Espinosa
Bishop gives more magic on promotion, Slayer, but I think the selling point is that Bishop levels up much faster than Sage. Promote Moulder immediately when you reach lv. 10 and he'll be getting experience at a pace similar or faster than your high-levelled unpromoted units (he will have to fight of course, which demands some decent combat parameters). AnonymousSpeed
Sage has the higher cap though. Given da boulders magic growth though, Bishop does seen like a better option for a non-long term run.
BBM
Moulder isn't going to reach his MAG cap for either class even at 20/20. I've never understood why NO AS LOSS ELFIRE is hyped so much when Moulder will probably fight monsters more than humans, and Slayer >> Elfire
Rainbow Skittles
yeah, getting slowed down by 1 is no biggie considering lol fe8.
Espinosa
Moulder is one of the characters with difficulties doubling though, considering how slowly he gains levels before the promotion. Though I guess the reason why I always get slow Moulders is because I try to get magic whenever I can, and getting both on the same level is highly improbable. At least he doesn't start at Level 1.

Too lazy to pull up exact stats, but wouldn't one hit of effective Shine do more damage than two hits of Elfire?
Nicolas
Too lazy to pull up exact stats, but wouldn't one hit of effective Shine do more damage than two hits of Elfire? IIRC All monster enemies(maybe beside some baels early) can be 2HKO by Moulder@Elfire. However, Bishops can have troubles with taking some human enemies (don't mention that Light magic is weak and expensive). IMO EXP bonus isn't that high to make Moulder Bishop. IMO only Bishop in this game is Arthur, because C in staves. Edited November 6, 2013 by Nicolas
eclipse
Source Assuming perfect averages, he should have 11-12 Speed when he promotes (that's level 10, and neither of his promotions give Speed). When I do my drafts, I can usually promote him at about Chapter 11 (so I'll assume. . .somewhere around there). Since I see Duessel mentioned, I'll grab some Ephraim route stats. In Chapter 11, the only things that Moulder DOESN'T double are the Iron Lance Gargoyles, Javelin Wight (Steel Lance Wights if he's at 11 AS), and the boss. Whether or not he can ORKO stuff with Shine is another matter entirely (don't feel like crunching THOSE numbers). Not sure about the numbers after that, but if Eir numbers are any indication, he'll continue to double the slower classes for a while (as in, most of the unpromoted units in Chapter 13 Eir). I'd grab an early Restore, and use that to gain levels, stat. The faster he promotes, the faster Moulder can start being useful.

Shev
High HP and decent skill and defense Aren't fighters typically lacking skill though? That was always the noticeable drawback with mine, at least for the GBA games. Defense was pretty okay but they did miss a bit more often. X-Naut
GBA Fighters are typically lacking in everything that isn't HP and Str. Their good growths are often accompanied by poor base stats, and even their base Str is nothing to write home about (unless it's Bartre). High HP and decent skill and defense High HP means little when you take a lot of damage from pretty much everything, IMO.

Agreed, but it's another stat they have a lot of.

Agreed, but it's another stat they have a lot of. I generally don't see GBA fighters as good for anything other than benchwarmers because most of them are the typical "good HP and Strength, bad everything else" axemen. Which, incidentally, is a reason why despite most people thinking Dozla isn't bad, I still look down on him. Nicolas
Ghahaha... General... But he can be not so bad, because all other units won't have more than 6 mov, so he might can do some damage. And he probably get super late coming boosts.
