FE5: if you don't have at least 17 spd, you're screwed

EDIT: also, FE5 isn't as interesting because of all of the broken weapons. or maybe it's more interesting. nihil is almost a prerequisite, though. and crits don't exist outside of wrath because of scrolls.

basically mareeta @ mareeta's sword + trewd @ king sword rolls over faces. and you need a bow user or else dean rolls all over you as well. orsin @ pugi is also dangerous because you can't safely attack him without nihil. and of course there's ced with his 37 AS.

asvel's kind of crappy because scrolls would nullify grafcalibur's crit bonus and his only other innate skill worth talking about is adept.

ced can only really be good depending on if you use the GBA link arena mechanics for countering. if you do, then everyone counters ced and so he basically can't attack anyone with a brave weapon without risking death. if you don't, then as long as you go first, ced gets a free kill. it's really kind of dumb.

well in that case, pack along 4 staff users + lara with sleep, silence, berserk, M up, and pure waters. if your opponent runs 2 or fewer staff users, target them first with status and they're pretty much screwed because their non-staff users can't do anything.

in all seriousness the idea is to have healing staves+rescue/warp for some creative movement

Looking at the existing characters currently, 32 defence armours appear viable even while being doubled by nearly everything. Brave Sword Ike does 2x4 damage to Gatrie/Brom at WTD for example, though if he procs Aether and connects with Luna (latter not a problem because low AS makes avo a joke as if we saw with Rhys and Soren) then goodbye AK. I'm not cool about the idea about Knight's Ward affecting speed as well, because I haven't been taking customisation through stat boosters and equipped weapons/bands into account, but in a fully customisable environment things are sure to be different.

I think later I'm going to put up a table of the stat boosters available in the game as well as Fixed Mode averages with room for customisation, and we'll see how that changes things.

It also looks like a duo of Rolf and Shinon could work really well. So far Shinon is only doubled by the three 30 AS SMs, and the two Snipers support each other, plus we've already seen just how good Rolf is with Deadeye.

WRT Laguz royals, are the stats we have on-site pre-transformation or already transformed (since they kinda have the item for it)? Because if it's transformed, then they just might be the only usable Laguz and good to be introduced probably.

i wouldn't use both snipers simply because there's only one brave bow and brave bow is really the only weapon that complements deadeye.

knight ward + stat boosters might make tauroneo a strong contender. unfortunately he needs all 3 speedwings in order to reach 34 spd after resolve, and 2 speedwings only puts him at 31 spd. that's still enough to double a lot of characters, but he no longer doubles ike, snipers, falcos, and maybe sages.

but man, resolve tauroneo is pretty scary. he has 48 atk with the brave lance. that actually 2HKOs ike! actually that's a pretty good incentive to use tauroneo as is. it's too bad his durability while in resolve range is pretty bad because he only has 22 spd.

yeah it's actually hard to find a beorc unit that resolve tauroneo doesn't 2HKO with the brave lance. makalov and geoffrey can barely live. oscar and kieran need an axe. brom and gatrie are ORKO'd but they can at least get a counter in. and tauroneo is impossible to ORKO from full HP without crits or skill procs as long as he holds a knight ward - you'd need boyd or largo with a hammer or brave axe and some +atk supports, plus tauroneo needs to be equipped with a lance.

If you want to try having the players rng on their own, you might want to consider using this and the option to create a pregenerated string of integers based on identifiers. Both players would pick an id and you'd use the combination to get the string. The downside would be that if it's entirely self judged, both players would also know the RNs before they move and could adjust their actions based on that. It might still be interesting if a third party is doing the calculations though, just so that everyone can see the sequences after the game is over.

I think an environment where Tauroneo gets maximum possible speed centralises things over himself so much that we should start customising skills such as Wrath, Resolve and Adept, possible surprise!Vantage on every other character that doesn't get them naturally as well. Resolve is too good.

And I'm working on Refa's new action now.

edit: I am using this site for the RNG. http://www.random.org/integers/ I think players will have to decide their actions first and then do the RNG in the correct order.

On the subject of royals, Naesala (singling him out because of his speed) has 41 atk 36 AS + Vantage (doesn't he activate Vantage and attack with Wind when targeted at 2-range too?). This means he double everybody right now, is really evasive with no need for supports and the damage he deals also exceeds what anyone can currently inflict (with the silver forges out). I guess the royals should stay banned, though maybe we should only ban Naesala.
