maybe he wants to make a contrast with kamikazes who were willing to go as far as to give their lives to their country

or something

Welcome to the club of people who can make connections.

Canada is great but I would never declare it the best, nor do I feel any amount of pride from being Canadian aside from rareinstances. So would I call myself patriotic? Not really.

Mods please change my name to ANZCOC, given that ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, but I am too dignified to give my life away for a concept so abstract as a nation, ergo 'Conscientious Objector Corps' would be more apt, for you see it is a profound metaphor against jingoism and I am more intelligent than you

it's the most obtuse shit imaginable dude

lol

I can understand blaming the connection for your not getting it but... I made this connection when I was around 12-13.

kami = god, divine

ma = devil, evil

It's not exactly a subtle nuance.

I think you can be patriotic without declaring that your country is the best (also how did I almost typo that as 'cuntry' what the hell, Refa).

no one gives a shit about any of this

They haven't mocked me for a few questions in a row.

This is just returning to the natural order.

Your argument looks about right for a 12-13 year old, too. "Nuh-uh! It's Opposite Day!"

Third option: Passive aggressive arguing over either.

You, stop making it so easy for them. :V

As for the question, i...not really. Heh. At least not for my home nation. I have an odd patriotic bent on Norway. /shrug

I don't really know enough about other nations to say "my country is the best, fuck ya america!" or things like that. But I like it here well enough, so I guess I would say I'm patriotic.

This really shouldn't have invited these types of replies; I've been consciously keeping it down as regards soap boxing and such. It happens that my name means a lot to me and is more than just another word; that should not be reason to attack it harder.
